Effective July 2025, teacher licensing rules passed last year in Minnesota under Democrat Gov. Tim Walz will ban practicing Christians, Jews, and Muslims from teaching in public schools. (snip) Starting next July, Minnesota agencies controlled by Walz appointees will require teacher license applicants to affirm transgenderism and race Marxism. Without a teaching license, individuals cannot work in Minnesota public schools, nor in the private schools that require such licenses.
The latest version of the regulations requires teachers to “affirm” students’ “gender identity” and “sexual orientation” to receive a Minnesota teaching license:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially lost his U.S. Secret Service (USSS) protection on Monday, just days after his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race.
Kennedy's press secretary confirmed the change in a statement to CBS News. Kennedy had gone through a long process to receive USSS protection in the first place, with his initial requests being denied earlier in the cycle.
It was not until the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump in July that President Biden ordered that Kennedy receive Secret Service protection as well.

Former 2024 Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Sunday that he will “actively” campaign with 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Kennedy suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump Friday afternoon, later joining forces with the former president that evening at a campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Kennedy told “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream that Trump will join forces with other Democrats as the election cycle progresses.
“I’ll be campaigning actively,” Kennedy told Bream. “President Trump is going to make a series of announcements of other Democrats who are joining his campaign. And, you know, I wanna make America healthy again, and so does President Trump.”

Europe is experiencing a crisis evidenced by a “wave of populism” that threatens European universality, Pope Francis warned Saturday.
In a message to participants in the European Alpbach Forum, an Austrian nonprofit foundation advocating a strong and democratic Europe, the pontiff said that Europe is “experiencing a time of crisis,” a time “in which various populist movements are enjoying great popularity.”
In Europe, “as a result of this ‘wave’ of populism, some ideals have vanished and some principles, with regard to behavior towards the weaker members of society, have been sidelined,” he added.

Members of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s extended family called it a “betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear” on Friday after the independent presidential candidate announced that he was endorsing former President Trump.
“We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future,” Kerry Kennedy wrote in a statement alongside four of Kennedy’s siblings. “We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear.”
“It is a sad ending to a sad story,” they added.

The botched withdrawal of U.S. troops is the keystone around which Donald Trump is building his foreign policy plans. (snip) He outlined his thoughts after putting the issue at the center of a national security speech in Asheboro, North Carolina, where he promised tough action on anyone involved in the withdrawal.
'I will ask for the resignations of every single senior military official who touched the Afghanistan disaster,' he announced on stage.
'I want their resignations immediately.' (snip) 'They did a terrible job. They were lousy generals,' he said.
He described Milley, who was the top military adviser to both Trump and Biden, as a 'television general.'
'Milley was pretty incompetent.'

(snip) The ACLU said it is also monitoring the situation and considering all options to respond to the new change, including a lawsuit to block the change.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Because the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld California outlawing talk therapy for minors with unwanted same-sex attraction, it must likewise uphold Idaho's ban on invasive and potentially irreversible medical treatments to make gender-confused minors resemble the opposite sex, the Gem State's outside lawyer told a three-judge panel Thursday.
Alliance Defending Freedom senior counsel John Bursch invoked the 2013 Pickup precedent, celebrated at the time by LGBTQ activists for finding that California's SB 1172 does not violate the "fundamental parental right to make important medical decisions for their children"

Cardinal Blase Cupich, the progressive Catholic Archbishop of Chicago, offered the invocation for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) Monday without ever mentioning Jesus Christ. (snip) In his anodyne address, Cardinal Cupich avoided abortion and all other relevant issues in the election to focus on niceness. The third night of the Democratic National Convention felt less like a political assembly and more like a school pep rally as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, (snip) formally accepted the vice-presidential nomination. (snip) “I had 24 kids in my high school class,” he said shortly after taking the stage. “And none of them went to Yale.” (snip) New Jersey Sen. Former President Bill Clinton also graduated from the esteemed law school in New Haven, Connecticut, and met his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,

Three weeks ago, Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe angrily pushed back on senators’ calls to immediately fire or discipline key agents directly responsible for the security failures that led to the assassination attempt against former President Trump at last month’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Since that time, Secret Service leaders have placed several members of the Pittsburgh Field Office on administrative leave, according to three sources in the Secret Service community.

In response to free vasectomy and abortion services, Pro-Life advocates will be distributing free diapers outside the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday.
Pro-life advocates launched a counterprogramming effort against a mobile clinic that offered free abortions and vasectomies during the DNC in Chicago. Planned Parenthood stationed the truck near the convention site, aiming to serve around 35 patients, according to the New York Post. In response, EveryLife, a pro-life diaper company, announced its initiative to provide free diapers to mothers considering alternatives to abortion.
