Secret Service boss blames ‘sloped roof’
for not putting sniper team on building
used by would-be Trump assassin: ‘There’s
a safety factor’

Original Article

Embattled Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle says she has no plans to resign, even after the stunning revelation that the agency decided not to guard the roof from which Thomas Crooks opened fire on former President Donald Trump because it was too slanted. “That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,” she told ABC News in a startling admission.“And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside,” she told the outlet.

Comments:

Sloped roofs are frighteningly scary. Did you know that if you pour water onto a sloped roof - - the water will flow downhill? And if you pour water onto the right side - - the water will flow down the right side. And if you pour water onto the left side - - it will flow down the left side. I doubt if even the bravest Secret Service Agent - - would volunteer for a hyper-dangerous assignment like that.

The sniper team that ultimately took out the assassin were on a barn...with a sloped roof. Fire this woman immediately. When Lester Holt asked Biden if he had spoken to the head of the SS he answered that he had talked to HIM already. Does he even know who that she is a woman? I read that Jill actually "made the appointment."

BULL manure!! There were two countersnipers on the MUCH more steeply sloped roof just behind Trump. This is a LIE, a fraudulent, obvious lie as an excuse. It was sloped, yes, but VERY flat slope, to the extent that the shooter had to lie totally flat to hide behind the relatively low peak from the countersnipers.

Why would it have hindered some highly trained Secret Service snipers or other agents? The blunders and incompetence on display in Pennsylvania are amazing!

I figure, I could at least shake the Pepsi, and then spray it in anyone's face who tried to get up there. Step two -- extinguish my Marlboro in their eye. Step 3: Tazer. Step 4 -- kick them off the roof.

And I'd also like to know how the kid accessed the roof? Did he jump or fly? Or use a ladder? If CNN is correct that he purchased a 5' ladder in the morning, where is it now?

Dumb question. Before I, as the lead agent protecting Pres Trump, Pres Biden, or any protected person, wouldn't I ask if every possible protection point has been secured BEFORE I allow the person under my protection to walk on stage? In surgery, there's something called a "time out" where everything is stopped and the patient and procedure are verified. Maybe USSS needs to adopt that idea.

Based on a good photo of that roof I measured its slope - came up with ~5% (flat being 0%). A sniper on a ten foot platform behind Trump would have had a clear view of that roof and the sniper long before he fired. Heck, you couldn't have fallen off that roof by accident even if you were wearing roller skates! Is it possible that just incompetency can account for this level of what appears to be willful ignorance? After all, those charged with Trump's protection are supposedly "experts" at this type of thing.

FTA" "And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,..." Yes, it WAS unsafe. A sniper could take you out on the roof .... if they were looking. #28, The idiot kid probably did the same thing I did while trying to understand the layout of the rally -- he used Google Maps' Satellite setting. He seems to have been a smart boy; I bet he took geometry. Then he visited the site. There's at least four building in that complex, mostly warehouse-ish, with not many windows and with a large parking lot. Nerdy kid in glasses, just walking around, looking, figuring it out. From the maps I've seen online, what I don't understand is why the security bubble around the site had a big pie-slice out of it, putting those buildings outside the security perimeter, with the point of the pie-slice pretty much aimed at the speaker's platform. Was that the real perimeter or some news media interpretation?

There are TWO cellphone towers right on the site, and an even taller water-tower just 300yds off the site. While setting a sniper team atop one is perfectly logical, even just an unarmed observer with a radio would have done the trick. Taking teams OFF from high position, also taking them off patrolling the perimeter, shutting them away inside, just as soon as the Protectee actually arrives and goes on Stage?? They were not supposed to be "Protecting the Building"...they were supposed to be Protecting Trump and the people.

Bangladesh soldiers patrolled the deserted streets of the capital, Dhaka, on Saturday during a curfew meant to quell deadly student-led protests against government job quotas that have killed at least 105 people this week. A suspension on internet and text message services has remained in place since Thursday, cutting off Bangladesh from the world as police cracked down on protests that have continued despite a ban on public gatherings. Overseas telephone calls mostly failed to connect, while the websites of Bangladesh-based media organizations did not update, and their social media handles remained inactive.

The fire and a series of explosions ripped through the factory run by primary battery manufacturer Aricell in Hwaseong, an industrial cluster southwest of the capital Seoul. The victims likely succumbed to extremely toxic gas within seconds of the blaze getting out of control, the officials said. It was unclear what caused the explosions and the fire was largely extinguished in about six hours.

President Biden made the historically rare decision Sunday to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, less than four months after being declared the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee and days after a dismal debate showing. The 81-year-old president’s exit from the race – months before Election Day – comes after a debate performance against former President Donald Trump in which the incumbent appeared infirm and was at times incoherent – alarming Democratic donors and strategists. Biden’s withdrawal is expected to set off a free-for-all for the Democratic nomination for president.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) told a Late Night with Stephen Colbert audience on Tuesday that Republicans and Democrats should ban “assault weapons” in a show of unity. She made clear she wants to ban such firearms “nationwide” and she posited the ban as a proper response in the wake of the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Warren posted to X: [Tweet, video] Among the X users who responded to Warren’s post, one wrote, “Better idea, ban #DemocratViolence Nationwide and the problem goes away immediately!” Another wrote, “Why are you so concerned about if people should be able to defend themselves or not?

The Democrat party is in disarray as they try to push Joe Biden out of the way. Obama and Pelosi are orchestrating damaging leaks to the media in an effort to drive Biden out of the 2024 race. Joe Biden is currently fuming at his Rehoboth Beach house as Democrats plan a coup against him with rumors of an open convention. Kamala Harris is jumping on donor calls and rallying supporters in North Carolina as Biden hides at his beach compound. The media is pushing Kamala Harris as the perfect alternative to Joe Biden. However, an author floated twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton as the perfect Biden replacement in an op-ed for The Hill.

HONOLULU— David Letterman will headline a fundraiser with President Joe Biden in 10 days with Hawaii Gov. Josh Green, a sign that his campaign is forging ahead despite continued calls for the president to bow out of the 2024 race. The fundraiser on July 29 will be at the home of a family friend on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Green told The Associated Press Friday. It will feature the longtime late-night host, plus Biden and first lady Jill Biden. The campaign has at least 10 other fundraising events over the last 10 days of July. Letterman helmed CBS’ “Late Show” for 22 seasons.

Interestingly, Nancy Pelosi held a meeting with the California House delegation on July 10th, nine days ago, to strategize how to exit Biden without a “coronation of Kamala Harris.” Details of the meeting are only coming out now. Keep in mind, only through an “open convention” process can someone other than Kamala Harris take over the ticket. Pelosi gives the appearance of calling for the democrat base to have a say in the replacement, but in actuality it’s the only way the club insiders can select a nominee that’s not Kamala Harris.

Democratic strategist Maria Cardona, who earlier this year propagated the “bloodbath” hoax against former President Donald Trump (see the video below), now claims immigrants are horrified by Trump’s RNC speech. [Tweet, video] Appearing on CNN this Friday, she dubiously claimed that she received a flood of text messages from her “immigrant” friends after Trump spoke about ILLEGAL MIGRATION at the Republican National Convention. “Oh my God, Donald Trump just put a target on my family’s back,” the text messages allegedly read, she said Friday. “As an immigrant Latina myself, I feel that way too,” she added.

Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas defended the presence of women serving in the United States Secret Service, noting that they “deserve our gratitude and respect.” In a statement released on Saturday, Mayorkas wrote that the “statements questioning the presence of women in law enforcement,” in the aftermath of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump were “baseless and insulting.” Mayorkas’s statement comes a week after an assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. The former president was shot by a “bullet that pierced the upper part” of his right ear after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from the rooftop of a nearby building,

The push to get Joe Biden out of the 2024 presidential race continues. The New York Times is now reporting that Obama himself saw how senile the president was at an infamous Los Angeles fundraiser back in mid-June. At the time, essentially all mainstream press outlets rushed to dismiss the viral video showing Biden freezing for multiple seconds on stage before being led off by the former president. That incident began the now-defunct "cheap-fakes" campaign from the White House. Here was Karine Jean-Pierre's response two days after the fundraiser. JEAN-PIERRE: Yeah, and I think you all have called this the cheap fakes video. They are "cheap fakes" video,

Former President Barack Obama didn’t endorse Kamala Harris — saying Democrats would pick an unnamed “outstanding nominee” in his first statement on President Biden stepping aside from the party’s ticket. “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” said Obama, 62. “But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.” Some Democrats fear that Harris, the 59-year-old vice president, could further diminish the party’s chances against former President Donald Trump, 78, in the Nov. 5 election.

I’ve argued previously that former first lady and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton would like one more bite at the apple, and as Biden’s reelection candidacy implodes, her name has popped up once again. Frankly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long. The Hill opinion contributor Pablo O’Hana thinks Rodham Clinton is just the woman who can save the president’s chances: “But who?” "The strongest argument against replacing President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic nominee is the notion that no suitable successor exists. But there is, and not just a good one but one of the most qualified people ever to run for the office: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A city labeled 'America's jihad capital' by the Wall Street Journal has become fiercely divided over the war in Gaza - as residents refuse to vote for either candidate in the presidential election. Dearborn, a small city near Detroit, Michigan, is home to America's largest Arab American community. The mood amongst locals has significantly switched as the death toll in Gaza continues to mount - with little indication of a political solution in the near future. Residents of Dearborn believe America's political leaders are playing a major role in enabling the suffering caused by ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
