Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has reportedly told allies that he will resign from Congress since he was convicted on all counts in his federal corruption trial.
An NBC News report said that the New Jersey Democrat, who has, so far, been defiant and refused to resign in the face of demands from dozens of Senate Democrats, has said that he will soon step down.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) have called on the New Jersey Democrat to resign.

A group in New Delhi known as Hindu Sena (“Hindu Army”) prayed for the safety of U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday, describing him as the only “global leader” who “has the courage to speak against radical Islam and its followers.”
Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, so Hindu Sena hung a poster of Trump next to an idol of Baglamukhi — the Hindu goddess of protection — dabbed a vermilion holy mark on Trump’s forehead, and made burnt offerings to pray for the former — and possibly future — president’s life.

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino says an “unimpeachable source” told him there was supposed to be someone on the roof from where gunman Thomas Crooks shot at Trump but that they “didn’t show up.”
Bongino made the comments during an appearance on a podcast with Tucker Carlson at the RNC.
“So I was just showing Tucker some material from an unimpeachable source let’s just say on the matter,” said Bongino.
“That post, according to my source, that roof was supposed to be a police post, there was supposed to be someone there,” he added.

A former classmate of would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks says the 20-year-old gunman once mocked him over his support of former President Donald Trump and had a general disdain for mainstream politicians across the political aisle. (snip) "He would just talk, talk and act like he knew everything, especially politics related, and he would say it in a tone that was like, 'I'm better than you,' in a type of way," he said.
He also pushed back on reporting that Crooks was a complete loner. He had a friend group, he said, although it was both small and concerning.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been handed a new court date in her election subversion case against former President Donald Trump.
It was announced Tuesday that on December 5, a panel of three Republican-appointed Georgia appeals court judges would hear Trump's appeal seeking to disqualify Willis from the case due to her relationship with former prosecutor Nathan Wade.
The change will pause the already delayed case until one month after this year's presidential election. If Trump wins the election, the case would almost certainly remain on hold until his next presidential term is over, if not be thrown out entirely.
The appeal had previously been scheduled for October 4.

The heartbroken widow of Corey Comperatore, the hero firefighter shot dead by a sniper at a Trump rally, wanted nothing to do with President Biden when he called after the tragedy, she told The Post.
“I didn’t talk to Biden,” Helen Comperatore said from her Pennsylvania home on Monday. “I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband was a devout Republican and he would not have wanted me to talk to him.”
Corey Comperatore, a beloved volunteer firefighter and married father of two, was at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa. on Saturday with his family when deranged sniper Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, opened fire.

Judge Aileen Cannon has dismissed the classified documents case against Donald Trump.
In a ruling Monday, Cannon said the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith violated the Constitution.
“In the end, it seems the Executive’s growing comfort in appointing ‘regulatory’ special counsels in the more recent era has followed an ad hoc pattern with little judicial scrutiny,” Cannon wrote.

A House Republican lawmaker is alleging that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas denied stronger Secret Service protection for former President Trump multiple times.
Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., made the accusation hours after Trump was grazed by a bullet at his Saturday Pennsylvania rally.
"I have very reliable sources telling me there have been repeated requests for stronger secret service protection for President Trump. Denied by Secretary Mayorkas," Waltz wrote on X.
The House Homeland Security Committee is planning on investigating reports that Trump was denied stronger Secret Service protection before the rally, a source told Fox News Digital.

Reid Hoffman, venture capitalist and co-founder of LinkedIn, made a despicable joke Friday about Donald Trump that history will judge harshly.
In Sun Valley, Idaho, at the Allen & Co. conference – an invitation-only gathering called the “summer camp for billionaires” – (snip) Peter Thiel sarcastically thanked Reid Hoffman for funding lawsuits against Trump because they had turned him into “a martyr,” increasing his chances of re-election.
From the stage, Hoffman shot back with his own sarcastic quip: “Yeah, I wish I had made him an actual martyr.”
