Biden says ‘medical condition’ could
prompt him to drop out ‘if doctors came
to me’

President Biden said in a new interview that he would consider dropping out if he was diagnosed with a “medical condition” by doctors — giving the clearest indication yet that he may be faltering in his vow to seek a second term. The 81-year-old president made the remark in a BET interview taped Tuesday when asked what it would take to prompt him to reconsider his candidacy. “If I had some medical condition that emerged, if somebody, if doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem,” Biden said in an excerpt released Wednesday.

Comments:

This surprised me. The pressure on him to drop out is still building. He lost schiff-head who's in a close race with baseball ledgend Steve Garvey. Maybe he's done??

He’ll be the honorable elder statesman with a Parkinson’s diagnosis. Everyone will be so sad and amazed at his sacrifice. He will never take responsibility for anything. And the press will get a pass for lying to us all these years about his health. The Dems were never going to just give up and cede the election. But if he’s that bad, he should resign from office. He still has 6 months to start WWIII. But that will never happen. Resigning. The war, not so sure.

Anyone but me sorry to see old Joe go? Let me explain. He is the absolute worst President we have had, bar none. He is just an awful human being. He is the existential threat to this country. However, better the devil you know than the one you don’t. If he steps down the media will gleefully anoint another one whom we have been waiting for with gusto! He/she will be without comparison. They will gush over his replacement nonstop. It will be a push like we have never seen and that worries me. All they have to do is put up a viable candidate and they will cheat their way, once again, to the White House. It’s their playbook. Right now they know Joe has lost the people’s trust but what they will hide from the people is that the next person will be even worse and that is a scary thought. They have to do something because they know Joe cannot win. Expect the worst from them and you will not be disappointed. The shenanigans they are going to come up to produce a candidate that they convince the public can win, will be epic. They will cheat their way to victory and would have kept old Joe on but he is quickly progressing into the last stages of Alzheimer’s/dementia. All the country knows it. After everything they have shown us that they are capable of, I put nothing past them because they know they cannot allow President Trump to return to the White House. If they stay with Kamala Harris, never mind. She is a disaster that I do not believe they can put enough lipstick on to make her viable.

The Federalist has a disturbing story emanating from the FBI: one of its many employees reportedly expressed disappointment that Donald Trump wasn’t assassinated on July 13. The employee, a former staffer with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) unit, expressed a nasty glee over the attempted assassination of the former president. While not shocking given the extent of the rot within the FBI, it does add to the cause that Trump should clean house at the Justice Department should he regain his old job (via The Federalist): Jenna Howell, who is a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) employee...

Had Saturday’s assassination attempt been carried out against President Joe Biden, we have no doubt we would have read about how the right’s dangerous rhetoric was behind it. We are old enough to remember more than a decade back when former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s use of crosshairs imagery to identify congressional districts—or, as the Atlantic’s James Fallows put it, "extreme, implicitly violent political rhetoric and imagery"—was fingered as an incitement for former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’s (D., Ariz.) shooter. (He was, in fact, a deranged individual with no discernible motivation, political or otherwise.)

U.S. job growth slowed more than expected in October, a sign the labor market is finally softening in the face of higher interest rates, stubborn inflation and other economic uncertainties. Employers added 150,000 jobs in October, the Labor Department said in its monthly payroll report released Friday, missing the 180,000 jobs forecast by Refinitiv economists. The unemployment rate, meanwhile, unexpectedly ticked up to 3.9% — the highest level in nearly two years. The pickup in the jobless rate suggests that layoffs are on the rise; the survey of households shows that the number of workers laid off rose in October by 92,000 from the previous month.

The cost of goods and services rose 0.4 percent for a second consecutive month in September, challenging the view that the Federal Reserve’s rate hikes are still bringing down inflation. The personal consumption expenditure price index was expected to cool slightly from the prior month. Over the past year, the index is up 3.4 percent. That is unchanged from the August reading, data from the Commerce Department showed Friday. Disney was not accountable to anyone,” observed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in his announcement kicking off his presidential campaign. “You know, it’s human nature: If there’s no accountability over any individual or entity, of course they’re going to behave differently than if you have normal accountability.” The truth of DeSantis’ words is perfectly demonstrated by Disney’s recent treatment of guests at Shades of Green, a military-owned hotel at Walt Disney World. Disney’s actions say a lot about how a company — one that used to be notable for its patriotism in the days of Walt — now regards U.S. Armed Forces families and veterans.
