Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has reportedly told allies that he will resign from Congress since he was convicted on all counts in his federal corruption trial.
An NBC News report said that the New Jersey Democrat, who has, so far, been defiant and refused to resign in the face of demands from dozens of Senate Democrats, has said that he will soon step down.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) have called on the New Jersey Democrat to resign.

Good news for the Garden State. Next, 14 electoral votes for Donald Trump? Maybe there's hope, after all.

Glad he made the decision to resign. It's not like he had any chance of casting senate votes from solitary confinement. Funny, how the crimes the left project on PDJT are really cover for what they are doing. Oh how I wish Rush Limbaugh could have been around to offer his marvelous clear eyed analysis.

He has done what NJ politicians have been doing for ages, he just got caught.
In my fantasy world, after he resigns, he runs as an independent in November and the republican wins after the liberals split the vote.

Reply 1 - FL Absentee Voter,
Yes, for the first time in years, New Jersey may go Republican for President Trump and Vice President Vance. Let’s hope so!
Reply 3 - erod111,
In addition to the legendary Rush Limbaugh, I also wish that the late, great Bob Grant were here to comment on Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, Bob Menendez, Hunter Biden and those Keystone Cop-like female Secret Service agents who were supposed to “protect” President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Mr. Grant is greatly missed.

He stepped down from the Committee on Foreign Relations last July. Dunno about him and the Finance committee. When a Donk was talking about corruption with Republicans, I pointed out Menendez, and he said that the Donks had dropped him.
Well, no. He was still in the Senate as a Democrat... until just after the conviction. At this point, with 16 weeks to go, I doubt if anyone can appoint a replacement. It will be up to the voters.

Well, isn't this interesting. Why? So Mendie's resigning must be timed carefully because if I did my math right, the dims no longer have a senate majority until he is replaced. Also, I believe a deadline looms in August by when it would be too late to replace him and his seat would go up for election in November.
If biden the cheater were to resign and Kamalie takes over, a split senate with no party in the majority would make confirming a new vp (presuming Kamalie takes over at the Resolute Desk) a total free-for-all. And Kamalie can no longer cast a tie-breaking vote for confirming a new vp.
Obie, what to do, pal? Fourth term in trouble now?

About time...he's been a thorn in our side for years...this is not his first rodeo...he has been in court many times for traitor activity...I don't recall the last time...but it was years ago...so now the DC elites have thrown him under the bus and he retires with plenty of cash...but...no reputation intact ...he's the laughing stock of DC...and he deserves it....

It wasn't until Menendez complained about Biden's border policies that the feds looked under his bed.

How is this even a choice? Shouldn't he be in jail right now? And out of a government job? I do not understand.
