Maybe law enforcement had the same order Obama gave to our military in a war zone. You can shoot unless first shot at.

The Secret Service should have control over the whole area - even if they delegated responsibility of these buildings to local law enforcement. I've lost count of how many people saw the gunmen and said something, but no one was in charge.

More than enough time to identify whether or not the person was with law enforcement. He was not with law enforcement; therefore, he should not be there. There is no excuse for this.

It’s all very simple to explain. Evil spirits supernaturally and temporarily made law enforcement personnel stupid, so that the demon possessed gunman could murder Trump. But Jesus came on the scene and redirected the bullet at last second with a touch of his finger.

I am honestly beginning to believe that an assassination attempt was the goal of those at the highest levels at the White House including Joe and his wife. The Biden’s and other prominent Democrats in politics and the media have engaged in or countenanced incendiary rhetoric comparing Trump to Hitler; saying that he hates women and minorities; that he called American service members “suckers and losers”; that he started an attempted coup d’etat on January 6th and that he poses an existential threat to democracy, all designed to incite the strongest passions. Then, when vulnerable people were fully primed to hate and fear Trump the executive branch supplied him with a undermanned and incompetent security detail. Henry II would recognize where this was all headed and Lucrezia Borgia would understand Jill.

There is a difference between the appearance of incompetence and actual incompetence - they aren't mutually exclusive but one serves a purpose and the other doesn't. Semi-plausible deniability?

I truly fear this will not be a one-off occurrence. I sure hope I'm wrong about that.

A spokesperson from Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center also confirmed to Channel 11 that Crook was an employee of theirs.

This is absolutely unacceptable!! The FIRST time someone yelled out that there was a man on the roof with rifle, the SS should have lifted President Trump up bodily ala Dick Cheney, with his feet dangling and ran his arse out of there and into the armored vehicle until the threat was identified, dealt with and the area combed for additional threats. Then President Trump could have come back out and given his speech.
Instead, they ignored the threat until it was almost too late. AFAIC, whomever dropped the ball can find another job!!

From the folks who brought you the "suicide" of Jeffrey Epstein. Security cameras were inoperable; double guards fell asleep or were distracted and didn't make their rounds to check on Jeffrey.

The proper comparison, I believe, is to the Epstein "suicide." Which we STILL have not explained. The cops are right there. The excuses are not credible. Yet where is the exposure of truth?
You gotta nail down the chain of command and put a big red pushpin in the human being who failed to perform and lead.
'Oh well" ain't good enough.

So the alleged head of the Secret Service won't resign? The Screw up, Move up rule of government in play. Real good optics here, Joetato.

As more information becomes available, a few things seem clear to me.
1. The SS and the local cops had separate geographical responsibilities, but there was no one person in charge of the entire operation. That in itself was a fatal flaw.
2. There was little or no coordination between the two forces. The sniper was spotted earlier, but no one told the SS.
3. This SS did not take guarding Trump as seriously as guarding past presidents. Whether it was due to lack of resources or just being sloppy, that will eventually come out.
Look for a whole lot of finger pointing between the local cops and the SS.
Also, look for Congress to rip Kimberly a new one at the hearings. Except for those members screaming sexism.

Looking at the picture on page one, if I draw a trajectory through then past where PDJT was speaking, to the wounded rally attendee, it traces back to one of the buildings by the pond. Also outside the SS bubble. A miss from Crooks nest would have been ridiculously wide of the mark. Just my take on it.

My post was right after viewing the picture. I hadn't yet got to page 2, where several Treepers explore the same line of thought.

Seems odd to me that the 'security bubble' looks more like Pac Man. Instead of completing the circle they left out a big chunk that oddly enough is where the shooter was. If the circle was complete the shooter would have been in the bubble. Anybody think that they changed to bubble shape after the fact to cover their ass?
