MSNBC host Joe Scarborough did not react kindly to the network removing his show from the air Monday following the assassination attempt against former president Donald Trump. Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski, his wife, addressed the situation Tuesday and accused MSNBC of lying to them about replacing the show with breaking news coverage of the fallout from the Trump assassination attempt. If MSNBC does that again, Scarborough said, he will leave the show and they can find a new host. “We were told, in no uncertain terms on Sunday evening that there was going to be one news feed across all NBC news channels yesterday,” Scarborough said. “That did not happen.”

Former President Barack Obama is pressuring President Biden to reconsider his 2024 run for re-election, according to a new report.
Obama and Biden have only spoken once since the president’s debate debacle on June 27 — but stressed during that conversation that his old running mate’s chances of beating Donald Trump were “greatly diminished,” the Washington Post reported.
The 44th president also stressed that while Biden’s legacy was important to him, only his former vice president could make the call on whether to stay in the race. “Our campaign is not working through any scenarios where President Biden is not at the top of the ticket.

MILWAUKEE — The Trump campaign on Wednesday said it would not commit to a date for a vice presidential debate, suggesting it was still uncertain who would be on the Democratic ticket.
“We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention,” senior Trump campaign adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement. “To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate.”
