If Congress ultimately decides to raise the corporate tax, that will be a tax on the consumers because those corporations will raise prices to cover their costs and offset what they would be paying in taxes.

A London native, Maybank attended high school at a private French academy in London, the renowned Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres, and then at Milton Academy, an elite Massachusetts boarding school where tuition runs $76,000 a year. Then she enrolled at Columbia. Maybank was among approximately 100 people arrested at Columbia University in late April for storming and occupying a campus building. Of those arrested, 45 were charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, public records show. At a hearing last month, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office dismissed cases against 31 of those people. Prosecutors told the 14 others

Following President Joe Biden’s abysmal performance in the June 27 debate with former President Donald Trump, you might think he would suffer a crash in his support for re-election. Even the media describe the Democratic Party’s response to Biden’s poor showing as “panic.” Will voters abandon Biden? They haven’t yet, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, but signs of trouble loom. The national online I&I/TIPP Poll, answered by 1,244 registered voters from June 26-28, includes last Thursday’s debate night. So the final day of the poll reflects that information. Did it have an impact?

Loyal supporters of former President Donald Trump’s run for the White House have spoken with their wallets. His campaign said Tuesday it outraised President Joe Biden in the year’s second quarter with a reported haul of $331 million. AP reports that number smashes the $264 million Biden’s reelection campaign and the Democratic National Committee banked over the same period. The fundraising gap eliminates Biden’s cash advantage and will do nothing to ease the fears of his supporters after last week’s calamitous presidential debate appearance.

On Tuesday, Joe Biden tried to convince donors to stick with him despite the backlash over his dismal debate performance. But the excuse he gave them was incredible and just more evidence of how unfit he is for the office he's currently occupying, much less running again. He claimed he did so poorly because he was so tired he almost fell asleep on the stage during the debate. Why? Because of his international travel. His last trip — to Italy — was 12 days before the debate, and he had more than a week to recover and prepare for the debate while holed up at Camp David, doing nothing else.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and porn star Stormy Daniels awkwardly ran through a role play Tuesday evening of Daniels’ testimony from former President Donald Trump’s New York trial. Daniels appeared on “The Rachel Maddow Show” to discuss her part in Trump’s case which was brought forward by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. During her exclusive interview with Daniels, Maddow brought up the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on Trump’s presidential immunity appeal, in which the court found that a president sitting in office has immunity from criminal prosecution for “official acts.”

In the immediate aftermath of Thursday’s presidential debate, open speculation about Joe Biden’s electoral viability was mostly consigned to left-leaning commentators, columnists, and former U.S. senator Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.). But the president’s foundation of support among congressional Democrats began to fall out from under him this week, when several sitting lawmakers either publicly called on Biden to drop out of the presidential race or entertained speculation that he should strongly consider stepping aside. The first shot came from longtime representative Lloyd Doggett. “I am hopeful that he will make the painful and difficult decision

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Dozens of pro-Palestinian protestors walked free Tuesday, after having their charges dropped following their arrests in May. Now, some local leaders are concerned this sends the wrong message, with the Democratic National Convention just a month away. (Snip) Hopkins said he's working with the Secret Service and Chicago police to prepare for the Democratic National Convention, where many protests are expected. "They need to be prosecuted. If we're not willing to do that, then we as a society are saying we're willing to let protesters do whatever they want, without regard to the damage that they cause," Hopkins said.
The deliberate murder of virtue replies

For decades, the American Left has been making a deliberate and successful attempt to kill virtue. Much of what they do demonstrates a disregard for normal traditional American virtues such as decency, consideration, productivity, respect, decorum, honor, and moderation. The truly virtuous would never dream of announcing their sexual preferences in public. The only reason to do that is to draw attention to yourself and your private parts. Every year, San Francisco offers a sickening public street festival called Up Your Alley for the gay bondage, discipline and sadomasochism subculture. If you dare to look it up (I cannot bring myself to include the link), beware. Just … beware.

Reality is starting to set in for Democrats. After a frantic week of desperately trying to find an alternative to Joe Biden, a newly leaked private donor call shows disagreement and panic among the party's operatives. The question at hand was where they go from here, and as predicted, the existence of Kamala Harris is the elephant in the room. (X) "Top Democratic consultants debated Wednesday, before an audience of large Democratic donors, whether they could push Joe Biden from the race for president — and whether Vice President Kamala Harris would be worse than a “comatose” or “dead” Biden. For months, Israel has refuted libelous claims of famine in Gaza, as international organizations -- especially the UN and the EU, the International Court of Justice and mainstream media alongside NGOs such as Human Rights Watch -- pushed the false, malicious narrative that Israel was causing famine in Gaza and even using it as a "weapon of war." Israel might have saved itself the effort. No one was listening. (Snip) Now, it turns out, it was all a big lie. There was no famine, there is no famine and Israel has not been using hunger as a "weapon of war."

The Fourth of July. It has a certain ring to it, doesn't it? I always remember the father of a friend of mine saying that we should always refer to it as Independence Day because every country has a July 4, but the phrase "Fourth of July" has long been part of our lexicon. But it could've been different. Initially, our Independence Day was going to be the Second of July. "There’s no doubt the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence in July 1776," writes Scott Bomboy of the National Constitution Center. "But which date has the legitimate claim on Independence Day: July 2 or July 4??"

I know he left Fox News amid controversy. Still, what Bill O’Reilly told Glenn Beck does dovetail with other reports about the Biden family and close advisers discussing 2024 with the president in the aftermath of a brutal debate performance against Donald Trump. The former president drove over Biden with a tank in what was probably the easiest debate for Trump in his short, meteoric political career. The Camp David gathering ended with Joe being urged by his arguably psychopathic family to remain in the race: Jill wants to cling to power like Lady Macbeth. The U.S. Supreme Court declined taking up the cases challenging Illinois' gun ban, saying they aren’t ready yet but also criticizing an appeals court’s rationale for denying a preliminary injunction. Tuesday, Justice Clarence Thomas denied writs of certiorari for the six cases challenging gun bans in Illinois. “Petitioners sought a preliminary injunction against the enforcement of the law, arguing that the law violates their Second Amendment right to ‘keep and bear Arms.’” Thomas wrote. “This Court is rightly wary of taking cases in an interlocutory posture. But, I hope we will consider the important issues presented by these petitions after the cases reach final judgment.”
