An Emmy Award-winning CBS anchor claimed the Tiffany Network’s blind pursuit for diversity hires led to him getting canned because he is an aging, white, heterosexual male, according to blockbuster lawsuit.
Jeff Vaughn, 58, who spent eight years at a CBS-owned Los Angeles affiliate, alleged he was replaced by a younger, minority news anchor in 2022 in the $5 million discrimination lawsuit against CBS and parent company Paramount Global, which was filed in a California federal court Monday.
The complaint pointed to a CBS goal to ensure that half of all writers be nonwhite by 2023 and an initiative requiring half of all cast members on their reality shows be minorities.

Let's talk about the proportion of blacks in television commercials. It is well above their percentage of the population.

Is there any doubt Jeff Vaughn is a liberal that just got a taste of his own medicine. Have a nice day Jeff.

TV commercials today are about 85% black. That's ridiculous in a country with 12% blacks.
And I'll bet that a lot of these commercials are less effective at selling the product than they would have been 5 years ago with the normal cast in a commercial, mostly white. For proportional representation....how about limiting it to 1 black for 7 whites, the proportion in the country.

I don't think $5 million is enough. Can we be colorblind and not worry about how many blacks are in commercials? They're people advertising something, just like white people in commercials. Racism and diversity sucks no matter where it comes from. It's really dumb.

I hope he collects the $5M and three times that in further punitive damages.

What CBS and the rest of the media is pushing is not diversity. It is punishment of straight white males for every perceived ill and alleged discrimination ever to have occurred to some allegedly oppressed minority or other favored class of people. All straight white males must pay for these alleged sins by basically being erased from job opportunities and media/entertainment exposure. The forced over representation of these groups in all aspects of life is getting ridiculous.

The people pushing this DEI nonsense are not only ethically challenged but mathematically challenged as well. How does requiring 50% black participation for 13% of the population result in any sort of equity? It all comes down to, "we want everything that whitey has built." When most black ads come on, especially those featuring Kevin Hart or the fat princesses pushing total-body deodorant and incontinence products, I throw my back out reaching for the remote. It's ridiculous and won't ever sell me anything.

DEI must DIE! Such policies are turning America into a nation of incompetents. It must end. Thank God, many companies and groups are ditching their DEI divisions, especially in FL. Make it so,

Don’t forget radio. I haven’t watched television since the late 90’s but I do listen to a lot of radio and it’s the same situation. Of course, you can’t see someone’s skin color on the radio but the people who make the ads go out of their way to make sure that you can tell by the voices and speech patterns.

Add commercial "couples" to the mix. About half of them portrayed are of mixed race, far above the actual ratio. Why is this being done?

CBS better be careful with diversity hires. Even though they don't care if a diverse hire is capable of performing the job they are hired for, they often are involved with physical fighting, for instance, see the fights on Carnival Cruises. A bunch of diverse women going at it!!
