Scottie Scheffler was detained by Louisville police and handcuffed by officers outside of Valhalla Golf Club on Friday ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, who witnessed the incident.
Darlington said the scene involving Scheffler and the police unfolded “very quickly, very rapidly and very aggressively” on the ESPN broadcast.
Scheffler, 27, was booked before 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, according to the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections. The situation, which occurred around 5:45 a.m. in the pitch dark, was all due to a misunderstanding over traffic flow.

The extent to which the political class and media are burying facts that undermine their poisonous narrative to defame and undermine Israel’s war of survival has become simply jaw-dropping.
The Biden administration has gone to great lengths to appease the genocidal and terrorist Iranian regime. The US has funnelled billions into Tehran’s coffers through sanctions relief. It has refused to respond effectively to repeated Iranian-backed attacks on US interests. Deadly thunderstorms blew out windows in high-rise buildings, downed trees and knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses in the Houston area Thursday as Southeast Texas got pummeled for the second time this month. At least four people were killed due to the storms, Houston Mayor John Whitmire told reporters in a news briefing Thursday night.
"We have a storm with 100 mph winds, the equivalent of Hurricane Ike, considerable damage downtown," Whitmire said, adding that the region may have been hit by tornadoes as well. At least two of the fatalities were caused by fallen trees, Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña told reporters.
