North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile into the sea on Sunday, South Korea said, as Pyongyang blamed the U.S. for escalating military tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The missile was fired off North Korea’s east coast near its capital of Pyongyang and flew 354 miles (570 kilometers) before landing in the sea, The Japanese Coast Guard said the missile had fallen less than 20 minutes after its launch, Reuters reported. The South criticized the launch as a "clear violation" of U.N. Security Council resolutions that have banned the North from using ballistic technologies.

More specifically, becoming the president of Harvard University. While most of the left-of-center professors, administrators and students might walk off the fabled campus en masse, that might be the best thing to happen to Harvard in decades. At least for those who believe the reputation of the school, as well as the quality of its professors and students, is being irreversibly sucked down by the “woke” vortex swirling about its ivy-covered buildings. If ever an institution needed the skills of a “turnaround expert,” it is Harvard.

We get the largely unreadable Washington Post because my husband must have a hard-copy paper with a sports section to read with his morning coffee. To say its reporting stinks is to overpraise it. Still, Saturday morning I saw the first glimmer of actual reporting, relegated as it was, nevertheless, to the ever-lefty fluff of the Style Section: “News from the frontline of culture,” per the Post’s website. ABC News has refuted a recent claim by President Joe Biden that Israel commits “indiscriminate bombing” in Gaza, reporting, after an investigation, that Israel has in fact used a “historically high level of precision weapons usage in urban warfare.” Biden made the outlandish claim, without providing evidence, during remarks at a private fundraiser last week in Washington, DC. So much for the “white flag” from Hamas. Last night the Times of Israel reported that rockets were fired from Gaza into Jerusalem and Hamas has admitted to the attack. One rocket struck near Ramallah hospital. Thankfully no deaths or serious injuries were reported and the Iron Dome intercepted several of the missiles. These were the first reported rockets launched across the border into Israel since October 16. This proves yet again that there is no “ceasefire” in place that Hamas would ever recognize and it also goes to show that more work remains in Israel’s effort to completely wipe Hamas off the map.
