Paul Krugman explains economics for us

In addition to being an insufferable leftist, Paul Krugman is a world-renowned economist. He even has a Nobel Prize to prove it. I’m just a retired engineer who refuses to keep my opinions to myself. I shouldn’t be able to ridicule him on economic matters, but he just makes it so danged easy. It’s seems clear that our Nobel laureate is either economically illiterate or just plain dishonest. I doubt he’s economically illiterate, but I’ll let you decide. Krugman recently ran an article entitled “The Progressive Case for Bidenomics.” Apparently, he didn’t get the memo.

The fact that Paul Krugman is a Nobel Prize winner — like Zerobama, Arafat, etc. — is proof to me that any Nobel Prize in any category is a worthless “honor.”

Krugman did not win a Nobel Prize. Alfred Nobel established five Nobel prizes. Chemistry, Literature, Peace, Physics, and Physiology or Medicine. There is no Nobel Prize for economics. What Krugman won was the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. It's a prize sponsored by the state bank. That's like winning the Federal Reserve Bank Prize in Memory of Alan Greenspan.

Paul Krug man couldn't balance a check book if it was glued to him. His philosophy of economics has always involved spending beyond your means and kicking the can down the road for your kids. He is a disgrace that helped get us in trillions of dollars in debt.

Krugman is like Cramer. If they say buy this stock, it’s guaranteed to crater. He has been wrong on everything. He said the market would collapse under Trump, instead it soared. He is useful in one way...if he says sell, then buy. If he says buy, then sell.

Re #8, I'm sorry to hear that. I moved a big chunk of our investments into fixed bonds in the last part of last year, the worst getting 4.8% some getting 7% without risk. I've been against bonds for decades, because the yields have been super lows due to the Fed keeping interest rates insanely low, desperately trying to prop up the economy. But after Joe came to power, it was clear that the stock market was going to tank for quite a while, and that the Fed increasing interest rates would make bonds FINALLY attractive again. Not great to get 5-6% returns but better than -30% that many others were giving. I'm thinking that by spring of 2024 I may start moving back into US industrials as the disentanglement from China continues, and more production is moving back to the USA, or Mexico and Canada, at least, rather than China. Good luck....betting opposite of what Krugman says is a solid bet, always.

New York’s Trump Fraud Findings Refute
Judge’s Conclusions

Last week, a New York court issued judgments against Donald J. Trump and his sons, asserting violation of state anti-fraud law in connection with several real estate mortgage loans. The judgments, which aggregate $355 million and may escalate to $454 Million or more, shocked Republicans and Democrats alike and stunned the national real estate community. It was immediately apparent that something was wildly wrong, since the Trump transactions were nothing unusual or remarkable for the real estate industry.

Days after Judge Arthur Engoron ordered former President Trump to pay $355 million in his civil fraud case, plus an additional $100 million in prejudgment interest, New York Attorney General Letita James said she’s prepared to seize the 45th president’s assets if he doesn’t pay up. "If he does not have funds to pay off the judgment, then we will seek judgment enforcement mechanisms in court, and we will ask the judge to seize his assets," she told ABC News' Aaron Katersky.

On Friday, far left Judge Arthur Engoron fleeced $355 million from President Trump for taking out loans in New York State and paying them back on time and with interest. The charges were brought against Trump by crazed New York State Attorney General Letitia James. There were no victims in the so-called crime. The banks did their due diligence before they loaned Donald Trump the money and testified they would gladly do it again. Judge Engoron called this a crime and ruled that President Donald Trump owed the state $355 million.

“The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” by poet T.S. Eliot shares the story of a sexually frustrated middle-aged man who wants to express his true feelings but is afraid to speak his mind. “The Love Song of (Fulton County) D.A. Fani Willis” tells the tragic tale of a woman whose lust for power was exceeded by her lust for another woman’s husband, and now she faces embarrassment and possibly even legal ramifications for accusations based on her sordid affair with a married man. Look for any parallels you might find between Eliot’s poem and the life and times of Fani Willis.

Jack Smith wants to put Donald Trump in jail because Trump aggressively interpreted aspects of the Electoral Count Act. However, other people (not connected to Trump) were far more aggressive. They decided to completely ignore a constitutional requirement that had been firmly settled by the U.S. Supreme Court. Who were those lawbreakers? They were revered justices of the Supreme Court of Hawaii. Will Jack Smith or Merrick Garland put those justices in jail? Will the Hawaii bar association suspend their licenses? Will anyone even comment on their defiance? Don’t hold your breath.

President Joe Biden is considering an immigration crackdown that closes the border if more than 8,500 try to cross in one day, a law repeatedly used by former President Donald Trump.
