Donald Trump's campaign thinks Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has ruined his chances of a future in politics by 'tainting his name' during the 2024 presidential campaign. 'He did this to himself,' Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told DailyMail.com, referencing DeSantis' poll demise and his decision to turn on the ex-president on the campaign trail. DeSantis is trailing Trump for second place in the primary race by several dozen points – with the ex-president leading the rest of the field with usually around half of the support from voters.

Santis probably should compete with Nikki Haley if the goal is to take on/out the competition. Once he neutralizes NH, he can move up to Ram. Notice I didn't mention pork at all here.

I wonder who Trump thinks will join his admin if he wins. He has nothing good to say about anyone unless it's a family member. Will vote for him if he is the nominee, but not in the primary.

Very disappointed to see this happening. From afar, I see DeSantis as a fantastic governor. That said, his presidential aspirations have been petty and he has stabbed Trump in the back even though Trump did a lot to get DeSantis elected in the first place. I can only wish we had a governor like DeSantis here in Arizona.

Note that the Trump flack doesn’t list one action that DeSantis has made that would justify the contempt thrown upon the best governor in America. Trump should fire the slob and end the lies his campaign is becoming known for.

I love DS as my governor. But if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. DC politics is brutal, vicious, dark and very rough. If some childish smears are too hard to handle he won't make it as a successful president.

Harsh but true. DeSantis made some rookie mistakes by taking bad advice and running with it. He was tainted by the Bushes. A few more years under his belt and he will be better at the game. Trump has many good possibilities in VP, staff and cabinet, Kari Lake, Tulsi Gabbard, Anna Paulina Luna, MTG, Jim Jordan, James Comer, Tim Scott. John Kennedy of Louisiana would be my first choice.

I hate to say it, but Trump is wrong on this. Oh, DeSatanis may never be elected President or Governor or even Representative from the State or Florida again, but this smarmy, fake 'conservativity ' Establishment elitism is just what they love to send to the Senate. Or he could move to one of the pseudo conservative states and have a chance at being a congressman again. Failing that, if he is a good little lad, someone might give him a job as a lobbyist or a political commentator at one of the big 'news' organizations.

Why does Trump feel it necessary to bad-mouth his opponents? Especially since they haven't a snowball's chance of beating him to the nomination. He only makes himself smaller. PLEASE, just STHU, Mr. President. This isn't helping and in fact, only makes soccer moms less likely to show up and vote for you.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, attacking a fellow republican especially one who is a great conservative Governor and then refusing to rule out the Rhino, war mongering, stealth communist death democrat, Nikki Haley, as a potential VP choice. Every time I start to get really enthusiastic about Trump, this kind of unnecessary crap gets spewed out. Dumb, dumb, dumb, shut up, shut up, shut up President Trump. By the way I would not vote for any ticket with Nikki Haley on it. Keep that in mind President Trump. I'll bet a lot of conservatives would agree with that. No more voting for the lesser evil (republicans) when they have sided with the evil Communist Death Democrats for so many decades. No More.

When your up in the polls by double digits, what is the value of unnecessary and stupid attacks? What it does do is demonstrate exactly what it was that turned so many off to begin with. Once one has won the nomination, one needs as many allies as possibly to win the primary. A task made more difficult when you have gone out of your way to insult, belittle and generally hack off they very supporters that you will need. And of course the amen choir will reliably complain about the lack of support. It’s difficult to WIN the war if you spend more time and resources carpet bombing the very troops that you will need to drag your body across the finish line.

I am VERY unhappy to see this disgraceful slur against DeSantis. I am Italian-American and quite frankly, Trump needs to fire this POS today. It is a slur against Italians, it is a slur against an excellent Italian-American governor and it makes Trump and his campaign look unnecessarily crude. I am devastated to see what has happened to DeSantis over this past year. As I have said on this site many times, the stroking he received from the devious Never Trumper rhinos and deep state establishment republicans only made his ego take over the good judgement he has shown over his career. He was the absolute best number two in our line up, after Trump, and now he is in tatters. Nikki Haley does not have the successful conservative track record that DeSantis has in Florida. I believe and hope that DeSantis can resurrect his career over the next few years, but he has to get out of this race now and start his rehab before he really does do permanent damage. He has served our country and his state well, and we need him in the future. He has a lot to learn, but I believe he can do it. But, this slur against him is disgusting, obnoxious and Trump needs to fire this clown TODAY! And President Trump don't ever, ever forget what our beloved and achingly missed Rush Limbaugh said many times; "The only one that can separate Trump from his supporters, is Trump." Fire this guy now!

How ever unpopular the sentiment, I believe that this trash talking tendency is at least near equal to democrat cheating as the reason why a sitting first-term president, with a soaring economy, tightening border, and a string of foreign policy wins, wound up yielding to Biden. Perhaps the timed, intentional release of COVID by communists "friends" of democrats, played an equal, 33 1/3rd, role as well.

These remarks are all Trump, not his staff. If no one's noticed, he shows open contempt not only toward DeSantis (to the tune of at least $25 mil), but toward all his opponents and their supporters (except maybe Vivek). Apparently, he doesn't want their votes, especially if they're RINOs. Except for a rare friendly TV interview, the CNN rally, and an occasional out-of-courtroom appearance, he has yet to present a vision for a next term. And his failure to openly confront his adversaries is a slap in the face to all of us. Some formula for victory.

This is the side of Trump I do not like. DeSantis is not the enemy. He is not even going to come close to challenging Trump. So just leave him alone. Attack FJB. Personally I would vote for DeSantis if he ran for another position. I realize that anyone who runs for president probably has an inflated opinion of himself but Trump does cross the line when it is not necessary. While I want a pit bull to go after FJB and his policies this type of behavior toward other Republicans isn't necessary. Trump vs FJB. I could live without the rerun.

Unless I'm missing something, DeSantis will usually talk about some of the mistakes Trump made when he was president and doesn't comment about his looks or name-calling. The putdowns like the pizza delivery are the very reason why so many people do not like Trump. Sticking to what you will do if you become president and attacking Biden's miserable presidency, would bring in more independent voters, imo. Since so many Republicans don't even like Trump, he is treading on thin ice. I believe DeSantis would governor more like Trump than any other Republican, especially Haley and would do so without all of the drama and worry about being indicted. The name calling of someone who has done an excellent job as a governor is middle school stuff, but a lot of people do seem to like it when Trump does it.

DeSantis is young as far as politicians go. If he had been Donald Trump's biggest cheerleader this election cycle, he would have been the odds-on Republican candidate in 2028. He would have gotten the full support of all of Trump's base voters, as well as the support (including financial) of Donald Trump himself. Instead, his ego got the better of him, and he committed political suicide by taking on Donald Trump this time. Trump's base voters see him as a traitor and backstabber, and will never support him in the future. That is tens of millions of voters that any Republican is going to need to have a chance to win. With outstanding young conservatives coming up (like Kristi Noes and Sarah Sanders) who proudly support Donald Trump for this election, DeSantis won't even be in the top 5 in the 2028 primaries. DeSantis is a great governor for his state. But so was George W. Bush. But that doesn't translate to being a great president (as W proved in droves).

The law will also give local judges the authority to order migrants to leave the country, as roughly 2,000 cross the border with Mexico every day. The law, known as SB4, takes effect in March and allows any Texas law enforcement officer to arrest people who are suspected of entering the country illegally. Those who re-enter face penalties ranging from 180 days in jail to 20 years
