Graham responds to Cheney’s dire warnings
about second Trump term

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) responded to former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) dire warnings about a potential second term for former President Trump by claiming President Biden’s reelection would be much worse for the country. Cheney warned in an interview with CBS’s John Dickerson that the United States is “sleepwalking into dictatorship” as the possibility of Trump winning another term in the White House in 2024 looms. Graham responded to her comments on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, arguing Trump was a better president than Biden. “I think a continuation of the Biden presidency would be a disaster for peace and prosperity at home and abroad,” Graham said.

Comments:

Liz probably thinks she’ll attract Never-Trumpers — and she might attract a few — but I doubt even that select group would welcome a Cheney presidency.

Cheney is crazy as can possibly be. Totally unhinged from reality. She and Little Billy Kristol must get together and tell each other "scary Trump stories" at night. Ignore this lunatic. She was tossed out of Congress by Wyoming for good reasons - she's a liar and she's nuts.

Lize Cheney would like to think she is still relevant. Quit giving her a forum and she will quickly be forgotten as she has been here in Wyoming.

Maybe Lizzy is right. Trump would use the mechanics of government to persecute his political enemies. He'd jail thousands of them for thought crimes and use banks and social media to collect the damning "evidence". He would ruin our economy.by high prices, and reward his friends with government largess. No doubt he'd turn a blind eye to crime, both home-grown and through border policies. And he'd encourage ...and finance ... wars and worldwide instability, often assisting both sides of the conflict (but usually to a greater extent our enemies). Oops. Sorry. Never mind. That's Biden and the Democrat party. The worst Trump ever did was say "lock her up" about Hillary. And he never did it. As appealing as that would have been, it obviously was a wise move NOT to do it.

The one thing that Cheney's rants tells me is that she is being eaten up inside by being thrown out by her constituents and the House Republicans. For me, that is what someone like Cheney deserves and is worse than anything someone else could do to her.

First, the U.S. Constitution does not permit a dictator based on the many checks and balances. Second, when you hear people like Liz and Democrats mention things like a threat to "our" democracy, they are simply referring to how it will impact them, and their current version of Democracy. They are talking about how handing back the power to the people instead of their chosen elected elite is a threat. They are scared people will discover they've been lied to for decades and their names will not be remembered in a positive way. Republicans, Independents and those moderate/conservative Democrats need to realize they are the larger majority who want the opportunity to live in peace, to have the opportunity to improve their status in life instead of the life today's Democrats (mostly Progressive types) who want you to live with less. #3, good recap.

Lindsey Graham is contemptable piece of dung. He is totally unreliable. He is a weather vane. One year he is singing the praises of Joe Biden "one of the finest people god created, if you don't like him there is something wrong with you" and now Joe Biden "is a danger to the country and the world". So which one is the lie? Do you know? Does he?

Most writers are familiar with three words made famous by novelist Stephen King: “Kill your darlings.” Why am I telling you this? Because it directly relates to what Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Donald Trump are trying to do with the federal government. King’s writing advice isn’t as violent as it sounds. He’s speaking of the well-known concept that when it comes to words, less is more. Brevity is better. Yet, that forces writers to take a hard look at their own creation. Once something is on paper (or the computer screen) it becomes hard to “kill” it. It’s yours, after all. The same holds true of the federal government,

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has agreed to a draft of a minerals deal with the White House on Tuesday, according to reports. Reuters reported on Tuesday that the Ukrainian leader plans to travel to D.C. on Friday to meet with President Donald Trump after the officials agreed to the terms of the deal. The pact, which would involve giving the U.S. access to natural resources in exchange for America’s support of Ukraine amid its war with Russia, was days in the making. Trump said on Friday that his administration was "pretty close" to striking a deal, and on Monday, he hinted that a meeting between him and Zelenskyy was imminent.

To find an impossible peace between Ukraine and Russia we must understand the recent history of the war and the European and American roles in it. So, Americans should revisit some fundamental realities and questions from which to remember before going forward. Why Did Putin Invade Ukraine in 2022? Putin did start the war. Trump’s trolling aside, he knows that because he correctly pointed out that Putin invaded his neighbors in three of the last four administrations—but not his own, given Trump’s deterrence. The most obvious answer why Putin did is that he thought he easily could. But why in 2022—as he had in 2008 and 2014?

The most remarkable thing about President Donald Trump’s whirlwind first five weeks back in office has not been the pace at which his administration has been making major changes, but rather that it has done so without spending much political capital, or, in laymen's terms, losing much support. Trump’s slew of executive orders, covering everything from establishing only two genders, to freezing federal spending, cutting energy regulations and much more have been fast and furious. The pace of change has left Democrats and their media allies flatfooted and confused, punching at quickly changing shadows, as when they laughably pointed to a fired national parks employee

Democrats lack a message and a messenger 12 replies

Democrats don’t just lack a message — they also lack a messenger. While the focus is on the former, the latter is forgotten, as if somehow solving their message problem will automatically create the messenger to deliver it. In fact, the opposite is occurring; Democrats’ message problems are killing off their potential messengers. Democrats’ message problems are much discussed… for good reason. They killed not one, but two Democratic 2024 presidential campaigns.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, is facing backlash for introducing a budget recommendation that changes the word "mother" to "inseminated person," and "paternity" to "parentage" in certain parts of state law. The Evers administration's budget recommendation for the 2025-2027 fiscal period advises several other gendered terms be changed, as well. References to "wife" or "husband" are changed to "spouse" in the proposal. In other places, the word "father" is changed to "parent," and "mother" is swapped out for the phrase "parent who gave birth to the child.”

Why a US-Ukraine Resources Deal Makes
Sense for Ukraine

It is easy to portray US President Donald Trump’s demand for a minerals deal as a cynical effort to take advantage of the victim of aggression when he has no other choice. The reality, however, is far more complex, and a deal between the US and Ukraine could offer significant benefits for Ukraine. At the moment, Ukraine is sitting on vast reserves of untapped natural resources wealth. A good portion is in territory occupied by Russia and thus inaccessible to Ukraine; the rest, while in unoccupied territory, is not likely to be developed successfully until there is an end to Russia’s attacks against Ukraine.
