Taylor Swift has capped off a stellar 2023 by being named Time Magazine's person of the year.
The star, whose Eras tour broke box office records and provoked an inquiry into Ticketmaster's sales practices, follows the likes of Barack Obama, Greta Thunberg and Volodymyr Zelensky.
She told the magazine that she is "the proudest and happiest I've ever felt".
The award goes to an event or person deemed to have had the most influence on global events over the past year. The singer also admitted to the magazine that the toll of her 180-minute Eras concerts often left her feeling physically exhausted.

Like the Nobel Prize for Peace, TIme's Person of the Year Award actually had some meaning and legitimacy in the past . . . not any more.

Would this have happened had she not hooked up with her Super Bowl-winning beau? (Very much looking forward to the coming break-up, by the way.) Credit to Taylor, though, who as a teenager knocked on doors all over Nashville with her homemade cd and was repeatedly told to get lost until she finally found a music producer who agreed to sign her up.

Well, I'll say this, she has done more to boost the economy in cities where she toured than Obama, Thunberg and Zelenskyy combined. So, in a weird way, I guess she has had a global impact. Sadly, however, she's your typical cringy leftist.

Civilization is on the verge of collapse and Time chooses the world’s most successful prostitute as its person of the year. Sounds about right.

She was named for her "cultural impact". Right now our culture is on a downward spiral so I assume Time appreciated her negative influence. She has vilified President Trump and she's also an abortion promoter; that's why she's beloved of the left and worthy of being Time's choice. Anything to further demean the country....

Time magazine has "deemed" her to be blah, blah, blah. lol. I can just imagine the Leftist, multisexual, green-haired, arrogant, fat, ugly crew of nose-pierced, Palestinian-scarf wearing Ivy-league graduates on the Time staff debating whether Talor Swift or Beyonce or What's His Name in Ukraine deserved the title.

Good thing for Taylor that Time hasn't been culturally relevant for years. An actual near-relevance experience might be traumatizin' for her.

Taylor is a powerhouse of capitalism who's CO2 footprint reaches millions of tons. I'm surprised they picked her... Oh, wait...they need millions of her teenybopper fans to buy the magazine. If she's smart, she'll demand a percentage.

I liked her better when she just sang country music. Just 30 minutes ago the station I listen to switched to Christmas music and her country version of Last Christmas played. Ever since she became a pop singing sensation it's been hits based off of break-ups with boyfriends and the usual support for democrats like the Joetato Head. You can count me out as far as all things Taylor Swift. Also, I'm somewhat glad that the nearby NEX doesn't sell books (I still love actual books) and magazines anymore. I'm guessing they think sailors and marines don't read actual physical copies of those things. That way I don't have to look at the cover of Time with her picture on it when I go shopping there soon.
