Defense attorneys have coined the term “January 6 Jurisprudence” to describe the treatment received by the more than 1,200 defendants arrested so far in connection with the events of Jan. 6, 2021. This carve-out legal system involves the unprecedented and possibly unlawful use of a corporate evidence-tampering statute; excessive prison sentences and indefinite periods of pretrial incarceration; and the designation of nonviolent offenses as federal crimes of terrorism. A universal feature is the requirement that a Jan. 6 defendant, usually a supporter of Donald Trump, face trial in Washington, D.C., a city overwhelmingly populated by Democrats

Even as he slashes public services, Mayor Adams is ramping up spending on migrants: This year alone, city taxpayers will spend $4.3 billion to shelter and provide other services to recent arrivals, a 48% increase from the spring estimate.
But what are we getting for all this spending? The city has finally, begrudgingly handed over its contract for the Roosevelt Hotel, after months of delay — and the document offers more questions than answers.
The Roosevelt Hotel, smack in Midtown, is Adams’ flagship migrant facility.
Open as a welcome center and shelter since May, it’s supposed to demonstrate how heroically the mayor is handling everything, even if President Biden won’t

President Biden's job approval ratings declined from 39% in November to 33% in early December, marking a new 35-month low. That is the key finding of a TIPP Poll conducted among 1,464 adults and completed on Friday. The poll has a credibility interval of +/- 2.6 percentage points.
Among Democrats, two-thirds (66%) approve of the job he is doing as president. In contrast, a majority of Republicans (86%) and a significant portion of independents (64%) disapprove.
Six out of ten (61%) liberals approve, while only 17% of conservatives and 31% of moderates express approval.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) responded to former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) dire warnings about a potential second term for former President Trump by claiming President Biden’s reelection would be much worse for the country.
Cheney warned in an interview with CBS’s John Dickerson that the United States is “sleepwalking into dictatorship” as the possibility of Trump winning another term in the White House in 2024 looms. Graham responded to her comments on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, arguing Trump was a better president than Biden. “I think a continuation of the Biden presidency would be a disaster for peace and prosperity at home and abroad,” Graham said.

Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, is demanding action from President Biden regarding border security after military families who booked rooms in Foxboro, Massachusetts, which is the site of the 124th installment of the Army-Navy Game, received cancellation notices from hotels that are being used by the state to house migrants. "It’s clear: these cancellations are due to your administration’s decision to ship illegal immigrants across the country to sanctuary cities at taxpayers’ expense," Ernst wrote in the letter.
"Now, due to your untenable border crisis which has allowed nearly eight million illegal immigrants entry into the country, veterans and future service members and their families

Career Democrat and ABC host George Stephanopoulos completely emasculated Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma this weekend on his Sunday show. Right at the beginning of the interview, Stephanopoulos advanced a flurry of disinformation and lies, to which Lankford, who purports to be a conservative senator of the burgundy-red state of Oklahoma, bowed down in complete supplication:
Stephanopoulos: Your party’s leading candidate for president was on the stump yesterday repeating lies about the 2020 election. He’s called those convicted in the Jan. 6 insurrection hostages. He faces 91 separate felony counts himself. He’s raised the prospect of executing the former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and

Something eerie, something creepy, is happening in the world—and now in America as well. The dark mood is brought on by elite universities, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion industry, and massive immigration from illiberal nations and anti-Enlightenment societies.
At Hillcrest High School in Queens, New York, hundreds of students rioted on news that a single teacher in her private social media account had expressed support for Israel. Waving Palestinian flags, and screaming violent threats, the student mob rioted, destroyed school property, sought the teacher out and tried to crash into her classroom—before she was saved from violence by other teachers and an eventual police arrival.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer discussed the latest evidence revealed from the investigation into the Biden family business deals during "Sunday Morning Futures."The Kentucky congressman revealed to host Maria Bartiromo a bank investigator's concerns regarding loan payments made to Hunter Biden from China, saying the evidence "fits a pattern" with the Biden family. REP. JAMES COMER: … What we see here, Maria, is this fits a pattern that we've been talking about on your show for months, where the Bidens were taking in, you know, millions of dollars from our enemies around the world, and they were calling them loans, because when you say a loan, you

Cosmopolitan, a popular magazine for young women, shared with readers how they could have a ritualized abortion service via an abortion facility named after Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's mother. Cosmopolitan explained on its Instagram page on Nov. 16 about the process of having a Satanic-themed abortion. It specifically addressed a "ceremonial" service provided at the "Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic," named as an insult to Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.

A Republican senator and Yale School of Public Health dean recently sparred on gun crime, and one expert told Fox News Digital it was an example of how the left frames data in a way that misleadingly makes it seem like Republican-controlled areas are most plagued by crime. "Why do you think that Chicago has become America's largest outdoor shooting range?" Louisiana GOP Sen. John Kennedy asked Dr. Megan Ranney of the Yale School of Public Health at a hearing Monday.
Ranney responded by comparing Chicago to three red states and claiming Mississippi, Louisiana and Missouri "actually have higher firearm death rates."
"What about Chicago?" Kennedy asked.

Congressional Republicans are preparing to fight back by unleashing up to 150 subpoenas on liberals and Democrats if Joe Biden’s party in the Senate subpoenas conservatives who are friends and supporters of Supreme Court justices appointed by Republican presidents.
This subpoena fight is the latest battle in an ongoing war by the left, who in recent months have been targeting the two most conservative justices on the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, investigating and even going after private citizens who are longtime friends of the justices, most especially conservative leader Leonard Leo and GOP donor Harlan Crow. And this skirmish, driven by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

There is a lot of buzz about Democrats potentially replacing President Biden on the ballot next year. Biden’s polling has the party faithful very nervous, as the last 11 surveys have him losing the 2024 election to former President Trump, and also to pretty much every Republican he could face. His favorability rating is on par with those of ground glass as an appetizer and becoming the victim of a carjacking.
As the pundit class wonders whether Democrats could replace Biden, the question really is, “Should they?” What would happen to the party if they did?
