To get around President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) lax enforcement of federal immigration law, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has issued a plan that would authorize states to deport illegal aliens and help build barriers along the United States-Mexico border.
On Wednesday, Hawley announced the “State Border Defense Act” which would, among other things, allow individual states to deport illegal aliens that local law enforcement encounters. “Our southern border is overrun. Joe Biden’s dangerous open-border policies are making it worse every single day, leaving states like Missouri to deal with the consequences,” Hawley said in a statement.

Corrupt Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday fumed after day 3 of her fraud trial against Trump concluded.
On Monday, President Trump said Judge Engoron conceded that the statute of limitations is in effect.
A lawyer for Trump spoke on this: “Based on the judge’s comments at the end of the trial, it would appear that he is agreeing that all the transactions that closed prior to 2014 are now out of the case.”
Trump chimed in: “Which are about 80% of the case.”

The aviation industry has been rocked by reports thousands of jet-engine parts with fraudulent safety certificates have been installed onto passenger planes.
Major airlines including American Airlines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines have pulled jets from their fleets as investigations into the potentially catastrophic faults are ongoing.
The scandal has zeroed in on a dubious airplane parts supplier named AOG Technics, which allegedly mass-produced fake safety certificates in order to sell its engine parts to airlines.

For much of the world, China’s Xinjiang region is notorious, a place where ethnic Uyghurs face forced labor and arbitrary detention. But a group of visiting foreign journalists was left with a decidedly different impression.
On a tour in late September sponsored by Beijing, the 22 journalists from 17 countries visited bazaars and chatted with residents over dates and watermelon slices. They later told state media they were impressed with the bustling economy, described the region as “full of cultural, religious and ethnic diversity,” and denounced what they said were lies by Western media.

Former President Donald Trump revealed Wednesday that he has been fielding calls about possibly becoming the next speaker of the House of Representatives, but the legal battles weighing over the GOP juggernaut might keep him on the campaign trail rather than Capitol Hill.
While Trump, 77, has already been deemed the preferred speaker choice for at least two House Republicans, a little-known House GOP rule restricting those with felony indictments from serving in the role could make him ineligible for the post.

According to numerous sources familiar with the matter, two of the people were trying to become the state's U.S. Attorney. The third was, at the time, New Jersey’s attorney general, sources said.
In an indictment, the three officials who were allegedly contacted are unnamed. But several sources said Menendez improperly reached out to the then-New Jersey attorney general, the now-sitting New Jersey U.S. Attorney, and the current Hudson County Prosecutor.

BAKERSFIELD — Minutes before the vote that cost California‘s Rep. Kevin McCarthy his job as speaker of the House, three Republican voters lunching in his hometown cursed the scorched-earth politics in Washington.
The conservative women said McCarthy had been left with two bad choices in the days before his ouster: Risk a revolt from the hard right and cut a deal with Democrats to pass a funding bill, or acquiesce to the hard-liners and shut down the federal government, wrecking the economy. Ultimately, they thought, McCarthy did the right thing — and paid the price on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON — The stunning removal of Kevin McCarthy as speaker left the House effectively paralyzed Wednesday as Republicans struggled to bring order to their fractured majority and begin the difficult and potentially prolonged process of uniting around a new leader.
The House opened briefly then went into recess, with North Carolina Rep. Patrick McHenry, the caretaker speaker pro-tempore, serving in the job with very little power for the foreseeable future. Other Republicans left Washington, awaiting the next steps.
The House will try to elect a speaker as soon as next week. The timing is nowhere near certain as Republicans line up for their chance at the gavel amid the bitter divisions

Looks like another federal court doesn’t support the idea that Homeland Security’s writ includes America’s “cognitive infrastructure.” In a unanimous ruling yesterday, the Fifth Circuit expanded bars on the Biden administration’s Big Brother censorship activities, blocking the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) from any speech-policing communication with private-sector media platforms.

The CISA, described as the “nerve center” of federal government censorship, is responsible for censoring the American public, facilitating collusion between the feds and social media companies

McCarthy won the right to become Speaker because he was a gifted player of the political game in the House of Representatives. What does that mean? He was good at raising money and passing it along to members of Congress who in turn were obligated to support him. Only one little problem — the Republican Freedom Caucus.

As the wise old adage warns, never engage in a battle of wits with no ammunition. Unfortunately for Karine Jean-Pierre, the most inept White House press secretary in memory, she's either unaware of the advice or intentionally ignores it. Then again, one can't use what one doesn't have.Such was the case on Monday when KJP once again chose to go toe-to-toe with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy — and that was just for starters.
Doocy began his back-and-forth with Jean-Pierre by asking how Biden felt about the pending healthcare workers' strike:
Since President Biden is so pro-union,

By a vote of 216-210, the House ended Kevin McCarthy’s two-faced, double-dealing speakership, (snip) Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, tweeted, “Interim Speaker Patrick McHenry aggressively slams the gavel as he and 200+ other Republicans fume over Kevin McCarthy's ousting. Where was this anger as millions of migrants poured over the southern border? Where was this anger as US debt rises over $33T? Where was this anger when the FBI rounded up Trump supporters and threw them in prison? Where is this anger as the ‘justice’ system tries to take out Biden’s top opponent in 2024?"

Three House Republican leaders are considering tossing their hat in the ring to replace Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, according to Politico.
Steve Scalise
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, from Louisiana, is reaching out to members to gauge their support, three people with knowledge told the publication. Though Scalise had said he'd support McCarthy if McCarthy stayed in the race, it wasn't a secret that he wanted Speaker gig - or that he and McCarthy have had a strained relationship. Scalise was coy about his plans when reporters asked him about them earlier Tuesday.

Wow. That was fast. The House of Representatives for once heeded this commentator and dispatched the sad-sack Kevin “Fredo” McCarthy to the dustbin of congressional history.
Rich irony alert: The deed was accomplished with the help of the Democratic votes to which the ex-speaker had turned in betraying conservatives who had earlier this year acquiesced in allowing him to take up the gavel.
Now it’s time to turn to “Part II” (wink-wink) of the task: identifying and installing the “’to-the-mattresses’ leader willing to do what it takes to rescue America

The same day a Gallup poll showed that Republicans hold a commanding lead with voters on the issues, Republicans in the House were ousting their speaker and a judge was issuing Donald Trump a gag order after he “tweeted” an attack against one the judge’s clerks during his fraud trial. So it goes with the Stupid Party.
Here’s an idea Republicans don’t seem to have considered: Stick to the issues that people care about.

Washington — The House on Tuesday voted 216 to 210 to remove California Republican Kevin McCarthy from his position as House speaker, a historic move that comes days after he reached an 11th-hour deal to avert a government shutdown with the help of House Democrats.
The ouster came after Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz acted Monday night to force a vote on a motion to vacate the office of the speaker, following through on a threat he made last week to take the gavel from the California Republican while the threat of a shutdown loomed.
While other speakers throughout history have stepped down after losing the support of their party,

The judge presiding over the New York civil fraud case against President Donald Trump decided to invite the media cameras into the courtroom, but what became obvious is the camera never lies.
I don’t doubt for a moment that showing Trump at bay motivated Judge Arthur Engoron’s allowing of the media to show the beginning of the proceedings. Trump gave the cameras nothing: no anxious movements and no emotional reactions to feed the media pundits.
Instead, viewers saw the mad dog glare of New York Attorney General Letitia James focused on Trump like a laser.

The US House of Representatives voted to remove Kevin McCarthy from the speaker’s chair on Tuesday, making McCarthy the first speaker of the House in US history to be removed from the job.
McCarthy, who had only been in the post for nine months, set the wheels in motion for his removal last weekend when he collaborated with Democrats in an effort to fund the government and avoid a shutdown. That move prompted the hard-right congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida to introduce a motion on Monday night to oust him.

Last month, in an appearance on CNN, Hochul told migrants to go “somewhere else” besides New York, “They’re literally from around the world. Eight Republican representatives, led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), on Tuesday successfully carried a motion to vacate, meaning Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is no longer speaker of the House. Several of the representatives have spoken out to explain why they ousted McCarthy.
There was a running theme in the comments criticizing McCarthy, who cut deals on spending with Democrats despite the fact that America cannot afford continued high spending, for his financial irresponsibility.

At least 11 illegal alien men are accused of having been involved in a house of horrors in the small town of Bemidji, Minnesota, where at least three young girls were drugged, tied up, and gang raped, according to local law enforcement.
Late last month, an 11-year-old girl presented herself at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center’s Emergency Department to report that she had been sexually assaulted. The case was then turned over to the Bemidji Police Department where officers began looking for the residence where the alleged sexual assault occurred.Police soon identified a residence at 1821 America Court NW in Bemidji as the location of the alleged sexual assault.

And there are reports that Trump might be interested.
Sean Hannity: “Sources are telling me at this hour, some House Republicans have been in contact with and have started an effort to draft former President Donald Trump to be the next Speaker. And, I have been told that President Trump might be open to helping the Republican Party, at least in the short term, if necessary.”

Americans should expect a blaring phone alert Wednesday at 2:20 p.m ET.
That's when the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will send notifications to phones in a nationwide emergency alert system test.
Being that the alert is just a test, there's no cause for panic. It'll be conducted to ensure the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are operational in the event of a national crisis, while also familiarizing the public with the notifications. Those in larger metropolitan areas may have received similar-looking Amber Alerts from this system before.
People cannot opt out of the nationwide alert, as even phones set to silent

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's recent call to raise taxes on New York's highest-earning 5 percent would hit households making $250,000 or more, according to a new analysis.
The firebrand Democrat signed on to a statement issued last month by the New York City Democratic Socialists, calling on the city and state to 'fund resources for all New Yorkers' by raising taxes on the top 5 percent.
In an analysis on Monday for the Wall Street Journal, Tim Hoefer, the CEO of conservative think tank Empire Center for Public Policy, accused the congresswoman of attempting to redefine the term 'rich'.

The Biden administration is “scrambling” to try to assure U.S. allies that American aid to Ukraine will continue despite growing Republican opposition to it, according to a report.
Four sources told Axios that President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken plan to call several of their counterparts in Europe and will hold a conference call with leaders of the G7 countries and several other European allies. A European diplomat told the outlet that the Biden administration told allies it is working on an agreement with Congress to allow continued military aid to Ukraine.

Who was it who said of the Palestinians that they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity? You could say the same of the Republican Party. Then there is the adage, attributed to Napoleon, that you should never interrupt an enemy when he is making a mistake. The Republicans violated that one today, too.
By rights, the Democrats should be in disarray. The Biden administration has been a disaster, as pretty much everyone knows, regardless of what some loyalists may tell a pollster. And yet it is the Republicans who can’t get their act together. Once again, they have bailed out the Democrats with an idiotic vote to oust

Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine who are caught drinking or being insubordinate are forced into “Storm-Z” punishment squads and sent to the most dangerous parts of the front lines to face likely death, according to a new report.
At least five of these penal battalions, staffed by ex-convicts and noncompliant troops, were thrown into some of the heaviest fighting in a bid to repel Kyiv’s counteroffensive in eastern and southern Ukraine this summer, reported Reuters Tuesday, citing interviews with 13 people familiar with the matter. “Storm fighters, they’re just meat,” said one regular soldier from army unit no. 40318 who was deployed near Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine in May and June.

An at-times annoyed, downcast, and even humorous Kevin McCarthy took to the podium Tuesday evening to hold a nearly hour-long press conference discussing his ouster from the House Speakership position, an effort spearheaded by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
McCarthy lit into his colleague from Florida, indicated that he would not run for the speakership again, said the eight Republicans who voted against were not real conservatives, and even hinted he might resign from office altogether.
Watch: Despite the extreme setback, McCarthy remained optimistic:
'I will not run for speaker again,' McCarthy said in a nearly hour-long press conference that veered from combative to laugh filled.
'I may have lost the vote today.

Baltimore police responded to an active shooter situation involving multiple victims at Morgan State University Tuesday night, the department confirmed to CNN.
Police officials have confirmed the incident is no longer considered an active shooter situation but are still asking everyone to shelter in place.
There was a “preliminary report of four individuals shot” somewhere on the university grounds, Baltimore City Fire Department Director of Communications Kevin Cartwright told CNN. Footage from CNN affiliate WJZ shows multiple emergency response vehicles surrounding a taped-off student dormitory building. The glass of one of the building’s upper-floor windows appears to be shattered.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) successfully led a coup against now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday. He managed to eke out a “win” by rallying the entire Democrat caucus and eight Republicans to oust him. It’s the first time that has happened in U.S. history. And it’s a total clown show.
Not only does it distract from the already tense budget negotiations, but it makes a laughingstock of the GOP—and the U.S.—and gives Democrats even more leverage to push through their radical policies.
Gaetz got a win, but at what cost? Sure, he’ll raise a lot of campaign money from this—he’s already sending out emails and asking for money on Fox News

If they don’t want you to know things, it’s likely those things don’t make them look good.
That rule applies to basically every organization, from the federal government to universities to corporations. And to the Big Tech corporations testifying in the federal government’s antitrust suit against Google, the first big monopoly trial in a quarter-century.
Google has spent the last couple of decades hoovering up everyone’s private information for its own use, but it wants to make sure the public knows as little as possible about what it’s doing to the public.
Normally in litigation like this, all sorts of information about the defendant’s business practices would come out.

A massive emergency alert test is set to sound alarms on every cellphone, radio, and TV in the United States on Wednesday at 2:20 p.m. EDT, 11:20 a.m. PDT.
The federal government says it will conduct a nationwide test of its Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts on the afternoon of October 4, as reported by Breitbart News last month. The emergency test is scheduled to occur at 2:20 p.m. eastern time which is 11:20 a.m. Pacific.
This means that every cellphone, television, and radio in the United States will blast a warning tone of an emergency alert, in order to ensure that the country’s Emergency Alert system is working correctly
