The same day a Gallup poll showed that Republicans hold a commanding lead with voters on the issues, Republicans in the House were ousting their speaker and a judge was issuing Donald Trump a gag order after he “tweeted” an attack against one the judge’s clerks during his fraud trial. So it goes with the Stupid Party.
Here’s an idea Republicans don’t seem to have considered: Stick to the issues that people care about.

Yep. As I've mentioned previously, right when Americans are looking to them for leadership, they Republicans have to show their backside to the whole country. "Don't trust us, we can't even trust and support each other!". As McCarthy and others have been methodically exposing the corruption of Joe Biden, Ronald McGaetz and 8 other clowns jump our of their little car and blow everything up, then wrap themselves in the true conservative flag. Was McCarthy perfect? No. But he was doing something very important. Gaetz threw a huge wrench into that. Why? Who really helped "the swamp" here? And what kind of deals did Gaetz make with the Dems? Those are questions to ask yourself. Also, what, exactly, is it that Gaetz has accomplished in his sojourn in the House? Think about it. Also, ask yourself why Trump himself criticized this idea. What he said is exactly what's happening - the Republicans attacked their own and show they are in disarray, while the Dems stand in lockstep unity. It's not a good or trust-inspiring look. And it may cost them and any GOP presidential candidate the 2024 election.

What conservative successes did we get with McCarthy?
None.
Might as well rip the bandaid and try again.
Trying to mix up his removal with voter issues is silly. Voters don't care who the speaker is. Only DC insiders and L readers even know this happened.

You can count on the GOPe. The huge leads don't matter as long as we have cheating and RINOs.

At first I was mad, disillusioned, disgusted. Then, McHenry gave Naci the swiftest kick in the behind I have ever seen in US politics. Might have been petty but let the Dems know they didn't necessarily win anything. McHenry has nothing to lose and can exact appropriate short term retribution. That will calm never for the immediate moment. The new Speaker can command a bit more control over the wildlings in the GOP caucus. And then, 113 months before the election is an eternity in politics so the ship can be put back on course. After a night to rest, I'm still mad. However, a good strategy moving forwarded with Gaetz and his insane followers having less clout going will allow the new Speacker more power and less fear moving forward. One can kiss up to the Democrats only every so often or the voters get really mad.

Americans care about $2 trillion deficits and spending money in Ukraine instead of stopping and illegal invasion of our country. McCarthy rubber stamped what the evil party wanted on the budget fight.

Voters may not care who is the speaker of the house, but will care that Republicans as a party cannot even work together. Does this infighting give voters the confidence that pubbies can lead the country out of the he** hole it is now?

There is a significant, non-ignorable part of the GOP that DOESN'T want to win .McCain, WIllard, Ryan, McConnell are a few examples. Were it not for these back stabbers we would have had 23 years of continuous Republican rule and Trump would be happily playing golf at Mar-A -Lago.

The GOP specializes in the circular firing squad, so of course it will blow its lead on the issues.

It's such a shame Republicans argue instead of just going along with the RINOs and Uniparty. Then voters could see how well they work together and be so happy to vote for them!

100#% in agreement with this editorial. #3 , the liberal media/democrats care about this. They’ll make sure the public knows how stupid the stupid party is.
