Vigilantism occurs when mobs bypass the legal system to murder someone accused, but not convicted, of a crime. However, according to Wired, the venerable technology magazine, when homeowners work with law enforcement to turn over Ring footage of criminals on their (or their neighbors’) property, they are engaging in vigilantism…and are probably racists, too. Aside from being a witless perversion of language, it reveals the anti-black racism at work in leftist circles.
According to Dictionary.com, a core element of being a vigilante is to act outside of the law:
noun
1. a member of a vigilance committee.

Last week, the Supreme Court handed down 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, in which it held that the government cannot force people to engage in expressive speech that offends them. Two days later, Al Franken put out a tweet intended to denigrate the decision. Instead, the Harvard-educated “comedian” accidentally revealed just how good the Supreme Court opinion was.
I’m not a huge fan of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch because it was he who issued the staggeringly incorrect decision holding that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 extends to “gender identity.” However, when it comes to Free Speech, Gorsuch nailed it. In 303 Creative, his decision lucidly explains

“Ponzi Scheme” is a term that was coined about 100 years ago. It was named after an Italian immigrant, Charles Ponzi, who realized he could get investors by promising large returns for undefined, high-yield investments. His endeavor needed to make just enough money to keep attracting new investors, whose money, after Ponzi’s cut, was used to pay some of the earlier investors. In our modern day, Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme resulted in losses in the billions of dollars when the stock market tanked during the Great Recession.
Selling the Deal
Americans are just beginning to see the tip of the iceberg of their own trillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, Social Security (“SSA”).

The Supreme Court handed down a definitive ruling against the use of racial preferences in college admissions, declaring in a 6-3 decision on Thursday: “Eliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it.”
The syllabus opinion in Students for Fair Admissions v. President and Fellows of Harvard College notes that any exceptions to that principle — based on the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution — “must survive a daunting two-step examination known as “strict scrutiny.” Unless the discrimination is for a “compelling” government interest, and is “necessary” to achieve it, it is unconstitutional.

Months after that humiliating 37-point loss of her Wyoming congressional seat in to attorney Harriet Hageman, Liz Cheney apparently is still stewing.
According to The Hill:
Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) suggested Monday that the problem with American politics is that “we’re electing idiots.”
“Look, I think that the country right now faces hugely challenging and fundamentally important issues,” Cheney said at an event with the cultural and community center, 92nd Street Y, New York. “What we’ve done in our politics is create a situation where we’re electing idiots.”

Movies are sometimes a Rorschach test regarding how one views the world. Like Rorschach tests, they can leave observers scratching their heads. As an example, my top 10 movies are probably, in no particular order, Gladiator, Tombstone, Braveheart, LA Confidential, Valley Girl, Lost in Translation, Galaxy Quest, Trading Places, Love Actually, and maybe Titanic.
I’m not sure what that list says about me, particularly the inclusion of Valley Girl, but I’m sure some psychiatrist somewhere could say there’s something to be taken from it. The one thing I can observe from my list is that most of my movies have a good guy vs. bad guy conflict

When the Titanic sank, G.K. Chesterton wrote an essay called “The Great Shipwreck As An Analogy.” Now that this same ship has unexpectedly become the site of another tragedy over a century later, I take the liberty of doing likewise.
One must first, of course, say a prayer for the souls of our unfortunate fellow creatures inside the Titan and for their grieving loved ones. [snip]
It is one of the marks of modernity that, having overcome various natural discomforts and challenges through feats of engineering, we tend to fancy ourselves as having conquered nature entirely.

On Friday’s broadcast of C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) stated that the United States’ “big mistake” on China was when we granted China most-favored nation trade status, because giving them that status led to a horribly lopsided trade relationship with China and argued that the way to bring needed change to our trade relationship with China is to impose “tariffs on Chinese goods across the board” that would be far stricter than the tariffs on China imposed under the Trump administration.

Steve Milloy, long-time editor and founder of JunkScience.com, announced an explosive exposé this month in an extended article. Government and private scientists in radiation safety have been attempting to cover up a pattern of misconduct and hijack the Health Physics Society, a professional organization of radiation safety experts and officials, to take down the society's series of twenty-two videos featuring Dr. Ed Calabrese, which exposes a longtime scam in radiation safety matters.
The issue is Linear No Threshold Toxicology — LNT for short, also called the "one hit" theory of toxic radiation genetic mutation. These bad actors have also conspired to censor and silence Calabrese

Those conservatives rightly outraged at the Trump indictment keep comparing his treatment to that given to Hillary, Biden, and Pence, each of whom admitted to violating national security laws. That’s the wrong argument because Trump is not similarly situated to those lawbreakers. Instead, because he was president when he took possession of the documents, Trump cannot be guilty of the crimes with which he’s charged.
It starts with the Constitution, which created three equal branches of government: The legislative branch (Art. I), the executive (presidential) branch (Art. II), and the judiciary (Art. III). As part of his authority as the nation’s chief executive

Recently much has been said and written about gas stoves causing childhood asthma, justifying politicians moving to ban residential gas stoves. We reviewed the epidemiology studies used to support the ban in a recently published study. We demonstrated that the studies were unreliable and there is no basis for the claims made. This essay sums up our findings.
NO2 and asthma

Allergens are the basic issue in asthma. Allergens are carbon-based and are mostly protein substances. For example, pollen and plant parts; biological fragments shed from furry animals, rodents, cockroaches, dust mites; and fungal detritus can cause allergenic asthma reactions.

Following the news of a dramatic rescue of four children lost in the Amazon jungle, Colombia's far-left president, Gustavo Petro, praised the children who survived in that fearsome wilderness for 40 days as "children of the jungle."
"The jungle saved them" Petro said. "They are children of the jungle, and now they are also children of Colombia.
"Children of the jungle"?
That's like calling children who survived a nuclear meltdown "children of the reactor" or kids who survived under earthquake rubble "children of the temblor." Does anyone call champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who was injured in a shark attack as a young girl a "child of the shark"?
Comments:
Former Rep. Liz Cheney.....that has such a nice ring, doesn't it?
Bye, Liz, you are GONE and irrelevant, you bitter old witch. I chuckle that they ask her about running for President....what a joke.
