A winter storm is slamming residents in the Northeast and New England, causing dangerous conditions.
Heavy snow, rain, high winds, and coastal flooding have made travel nearly impossible for millions living near and north of the Interstate 95 corridor, Fox Weather reported Tuesday:
The winter storm is dumping snow from central and upstate New York and northeastern Pennsylvania into North Jersey and western and northern New England. Meanwhile, heavy rain is falling across southeastern New England ahead of a changeover to snow in some areas, which should include Boston later Tuesday.
A CBS News reporter in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, said the storm was dumping snow at approximately one inch per hour.

A suspect is accused of violently robbing a woman in Houston, Texas, during a February 13 incident that left her paralyzed.
Law enforcement is now asking for help in identifying the suspect who allegedly assaulted the victim, whose name is Nhung Truong, Fox 26 reported Sunday. [Tweet]
She was allegedly attacked by a black man in his 20s, and authorities believe it was a “jugging” incident (a robbery of someone leaving a bank) at a shopping center on the 9800 block of Bellaire.
Prior to the incident, the woman had withdrawn money from a Bank of America, and the suspect is accused of following her over 20 miles

Ron DeSantis is causing waves after answering a questionnaire on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson sent the inquiry to all of the announced and presumed 2024 Republican presidential candidates, asking them what their views on the current war are. DeSantis bucked the establishment trend on both sides of the aisle and didn’t spew proclamations about defending democracy (which is definitively not why we are involved in Ukraine). Instead, he pointedly said it is not in US interests to become “further entangled” in the fight, which he described as a “territorial dispute.”

Republicans hold a dour outlook on the country and prioritize finding a 2024 nominee who shares their views on major issues over one with a strong chance to defeat President Joe Biden, according to a new CNN poll of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents conducted by SSRS. The survey suggests sharp divisions within the potential GOP electorate by age, education, ideology and geography, as well as between Donald Trump backers locked into their choice and a more movable group in search of an alternative.
Just 30% of all Republicans and Republican-leaners say the country's best days are still ahead of it -- a dramatic shift from 2019, when Trump

Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse is almost entirely self-imposed, but they’re getting an almost-bailout anyway. President Biden has said the taxpayers will bear the brunt of guaranteeing all SVB deposits. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) already insures deposits up to $250,000, a pittance compared to the collapse of this billion-dollar bank.
Many in the financial punditry class believe the move is necessary to prevent a chain reaction that could take down other big investment banks. There is plenty to be debated about the merits of that action,

As RedState’s Bonchie reported last week, Ron DeSantis expertly trolled media outlets by actually showing videos of books found in Florida public school libraries that contained sex and pornography. The news stations had to quickly kill their live feeds because you can’t show that stuff on television.
The obvious question: if it’s too saucy for an adult audience—why is it in our kids’ schools?
Tuesday afternoon, the Florida Governor’s response team—the Twitter account @DeSantisWarRoom—was it at again, taking footage of President Joe Biden lambasting the state for its policies on transgender surgeries and putting in a split-screen with videos showing some of the more benign steps of “gender-affirming surgery.”

Following the biggest bank failure since the financial crisis of 2008, Moody's Investor Service has downgraded its rating of the U.S. banking system in the latest sign that President Biden's Monday morning attempt to assuage concerns went over like a lead balloon. [Tweet]
Moody's — one of three major rating entities — downgraded its outlook for the U.S. banking system from "stable" to "negative" on Tuesday morning "to reflect the rapid deterioration in the operating environment following deposit runs at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), Silvergate Bank, and Signature Bank (SNY) and the failures of SVB and SNY," Moody's explained.

It started with young women half-joking about being angry with the feminist movement for “liberating” women so they now have to get up to go to work to pay their own bills.
The BBC made a skit off the back of this complaint that, while meant as a joke, ended up being a perfect way that described how many women felt about their “liberation.” They say the left can’t meme, but this skit proves they can do so ironically. [Video]
Then a trend on TikTok began emerging that gained traction very quickly. It was women simply posting their daily lives as traditional housewives.

There has been some recent media buzz, as well as hope, about the possibility that former First Lady Michelle Obama might be persuaded to enter the 2024 presidential race. As the Democratic presidential nominee, or even the vice-presidential nominee, she would give Democrats their best chance at retaining the White House. Early in the morning hours of a polar vortex in January 2019, FOX's "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett claimed two White supremacist Trump supporters attacked him near his Chicago apartment in a racially-motivated hate crime that would soon incite outrage from activists and the media.

For many observers of the region, the announcement came as a surprise. After years of rivalry and tensions, Saudi Arabia and Iran apparently want to start a new phase in their relationship.
The decision is one that could have both regional and international impacts because in many areas and on many fronts, the two nations are opponents and have squared off against one another, both indirectly and directly.
The two countries have supported opposing parties to various conflicts: for example, in Syria during the civil war there, and to this day in the war in Yemen.

In his characteristically clumsy fashion, Old Joe Biden has revealed that former President Jimmy Carter has bestowed upon him a singular honor: “He asked me to do his eulogy — excuse me, I shouldn’t say that,” Biden said at a fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe, California on Tuesday. When that day arrives, no matter how poorly Old Joe delivers what is certain to be a farrago of lies, half-truths, historical revisionism, and self-serving distortion, there will be a certain fitting aspect to the entire occasion: the previous holder of the title of Worst President in American History will be eulogized by the current holder of the title.

The cameras rolled, and Caine erupted like a volcano, delivering what he thought was perfection. To his surprise, the director asked for another take, requesting that Caine underplay the scene. Caine delivered again, intensely but with a bit of restraint, but to Caine's dismay, another retake and further subtlety were requested.
The cycle continued for a while until, exasperated, Caine said to the director, "If I keep underplaying, I will reach a point where I'm doing nothing."

One need look no further than to Islam and the so-called “Left” — in this case, in the guise of the K-through-college education system — to appreciate the distinction.

As the Chicago Bears make plans to build a new stadium, taxpayers still are on the hook for the old one. A big bill is coming soon —and the primary method of paying for it may not be enough. Whether or not the team leaves for its newly acquired site in Arlington Heights, the public is obligated to pay for the 2003 renovation of Soldier Field that was meant to keep the team there. Due to refinancing and years of primarily paying interest instead of principal, the debt owed for Soldier Field has ballooned from the original $399 million to $631 million

The US Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission are investigating the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter.
The tech and start-up-focused lender based in Santa Clara, California, was taken over by regulators on Friday during a run on its deposits, making it the second-largest bank failure in US history. It is not unusual for there to be such investigations when large financial institutions or public companies collapse or suffer unexpected losses, but the separate probes will also look at stock sales that company bosses made days before the bank failed.

Although Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has promised that all depositors with the failing Silicon Valley Bank will have access to their funds and the cost of federal intervention in the financial system will not be passed on to U.S. taxpayers, existing law and finite resources raise questions as to whether she will be able to follow through on either pledge. The twin failures of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank on Friday and Sunday, respectively, have sent financial systems in the United States into disarray.

Facebook-parent Meta plans to lay off another 10,000 workers, marking the second round of significant job cuts announced by the tech giant in four months.
The latest layoffs, announced on Tuesday, come after Meta said in November that it was eliminating approximately 13% of its workforce, or 11,000 jobs, in the single largest round of cuts in the company's history.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the job cuts will take place "over the next couple of months."

Why won’t the DOJ do its job? It is a violation of a federal statute to protest outside of the Supreme Court justices’ homes, yet protests regularly happen. Ever since the decision on Dobbs was leaked, indicating that Roe v Wade would be overturned, there have been protests in the neighborhoods of conservative Supreme Court justices. Attorney General Merrick Garland is a Democrat. Is it a partisan politics thing? If so, Garland is a petty and spiteful man. If not, he is inept and incompetent. There is no middle ground here. It’s one or the other.

SAN DIEGO — President Joe Biden is expected to sign an executive order on Tuesday aiming to increase the number of background checks to buy guns, promote better and more secure firearms storage and ensure U.S. law enforcement agencies are getting the most out of a bipartisan gun control law enacted last summer.
The Democratic president plans to address his latest efforts to curb gun violence in a speech from Monterey Park, California. In January, a gunman stormed a dance hall in the community near Los Angeles and shot 20 people, killing 11, following a Lunar New Year celebration.

WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department has agreed to let House Oversight Committee members review suspicious activity reports pertaining to President Biden’s family, panel Chairman James Comer announced Tuesday. The records submitted by banks to the US government may contain new bombshells on the first family’s murky foreign income and the millions reaped by first son Hunter Biden and first brother James Biden in countries where their powerful relative held sway.
“After two months of dragging their feet, the Treasury Department is finally providing us with access to the suspicious activity reports for the Biden family and their associates’ business transactions,” Comer (R-Ky.) said.

On Thursday night, Politico’s Daniel Lippman reported that the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok “hired top Biden-connected consulting firm SKDK” founded by current White House senior adviser Anita Dunn within “the last few months” to likely help it escape scrutiny and a possible ban from the federal government amid legitimate concerns its stored data can be used by the Chinese Communist Party.
Given the liberal media’s penchant for littering their newscasts with puff pieces on TikTok bringing people together and viral trends, the major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC ignored this story on their flagship morning and evening newscasts.

The Treasury Department will comply and release suspicious activity reports (SARs) generated by the Biden family and their associates’ business transactions to the House Oversight Committee, Breitbart News has learned.
The Treasury’s compliance to disclose the SARs is a massive development in the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Biden family business to determine if President Joe Biden is compromised by communist China. The committee is investigating the Biden family business for nine violations, including wire fraud and money laundering.U.S. banks have flagged over 150 SARs from Hunter and James Biden that included “large” amounts of money tagged for further review by the Treasury. There are few bigger cultural issues being fought over right now than the medical transition of children under the guise of so-called “gender-affirming care.” The mainstream of the Democratic Party has now decided that chopping the breasts off young girls and chemically castrating young boys is not just a right, but a moral necessity.
Unfortunately, as RedState reported on Sunday, there are some (ostensibly) on the right who would rather make overwrought philosophical arguments than actually face this harmful scourage head-on. But if anyone doubts how serious the situation is, here’s the President of the United States arguing that it’s “sinful” to not mutilate children suffering from gender delusions.

I used to work for a major defense contractor. We referred to our company as the best machine shop in the world. We could manufacture virtually any part, to even the most exacting tolerances. The company had even received numerous “Excellence” awards from the Navy for ingenuity, customer service, and workmanship.
And then in the 1990s, the company decided to try something different. Our president had a brainstorm -- which is always scary coming from someone with a Harvard MBA and little manufacturing experience. He decided that we didn’t need quality control inspectors -- those folks that check final parts to ensure compliance with the engineering specifications.

Stanford Law School students savagely criticized the school and one of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion deans in a piece in the school’s publication, “Stanford Review,” with this simple but powerful headline atop its front page: “Fire Tirien Steinbach.” [Tweet] As RedState’s Jim Thompson reported, Steinbach, Stanford Law’s Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, joined students in heckling and screaming at Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judge Kyle Duncan who was attempting to deliver a speech. When the judge asked for an administrator to intervene, Steinbach instead piled on and launched into a six-minute tirade claiming Duncan was “literally denying the humanity of people.”

Whenever a disaster strikes, you can bet that a story will soon appear blaming “deregulation.” So it was in the immediate aftermath of the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. And so it is now with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank.
Before most people even knew what had happened over the weekend, the left was blaming President Donald Trump. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, in an op-ed published in Monday’s New York Times, said that a bill Trump signed in 2018 that tweaked some banking rules was responsible for SVB’s failure.

Many of the tyrants who promoted the COVID madness have been begging for amnesty for some time, and we should only expect that their numbers will grow as more evidence surfaces.
But we should make no mistake -- there needs to be a reckoning in the West when it comes to COVID.
I used to wonder as a child how extreme fanaticism, such as Nazism, could gain footing among any educated population. I am now convinced that the internationally coordinated propaganda campaign around COVID that we all recently witnessed for nearly three years makes the Nazis look like amateurs.

A giant seaweed blob so large it can be seen from space is threatening to transform beaches along Florida’s Gulf coast into a brown morass, scientists say.
The 5,000-mile-wide sargassum bloom — believed to be the largest in history at twice the width of the continental US — is drifting ominously toward the Sunshine State, NBC News reported. “It’s incredible,” Brian LaPointe, a research professor at Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, told the news outlet.
“What we’re seeing in the satellite imagery does not bode well for a clean beach year,” he added.

Former President Donald Trump is intensifying his attacks on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling him disloyal and saying that his political career would have been over had he not endorsed his ultimately successful 2018 campaign.
“He was dead as a dog, he was a dead politician. He would have been working perhaps for a law firm or doing something else,” Trump told a small group of reporters aboard his plane on Monday afternoon en route to Iowa, where he was to make an appearance that evening.
Asked if he regretted endorsing DeSantis for governor in 2018, Trump responded: “Yeah maybe, this guy was dead. He was dead as a doornail.

The past few weeks has proven that the freedom of speech enshrined under the First Amendment is under assault by our government. Independent Journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Schellenberger‘s March 9 testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government revealed just how determined Democrats in Congress are in silencing any speech that they do not agree with and any platform that chooses to disseminate said speech. Both Taibbi and Schellenberger are progressive Democrats who voted for Joe Biden. Yet, because they hold the First Amendment and truth as a higher standard than political agendas and allegiances, they have been maligned and targeted as disinformation agents.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said in a tweet Monday that the Biden administration refused to commit to not bailing out Chinese companies that invested in Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) with American taxpayer money.
“It’s well known that SVB funneled American money into Chinese companies,” Cotton tweeted. “I pressed the Biden administration today to commit not to bailout Chinese companies with money from Arkansas’s taxpayers, but they refused. Which tells you that’s exactly what President Biden plans to do,” he said. Silicon Valley Bank had supported many start-up companies, including those from China, according to a CNBC report.

Former President Donald Trump’s policies at the United States-Mexico border helped deter illegal immigration, while President Joe Biden’s policies are encouraging record-setting inflows, a new study suggests.
The study, conducted by Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, compares the size and scale of migrant caravans under Trump versus those that have arrived under the Biden administration. Trump’s policies, which included the Remain in Mexico program, eliminating the Catch and Release process, and imposing the Title 42 public health authority, served as a deterrent for border crossers and illegal aliens, the study found.

The hits just keep on coming for Due Diligence Group, the Democrat-aligned group that has been found to have requested the military records of Republican political candidates. Congressmen Don Bacon of Nebraska and Zach Nunn of Iowa already learned that the group sought their Air Force records without their consent. Now another person has come forward. Abraham Payton of Due Diligence Group sought the National Guard records of New York Assemblyman Colin Schmitt last summer when he was running for Congress. The group was definitely up to more activities of this type and we almost certainly do not have the full list of victims yet. (Politico)
