Mike Pence Pandering To D.C. Media Is

On Saturday night, former Vice President Mike Pence addressed the annual Gridiron Club dinner, a white-tie gathering of Beltway media and political insiders. He took the opportunity to praise the D.C. media, attack Tucker Carlson, and condemn Donald Trump. “History will hold Donald Trump accountable for Jan. 6,” Pence said. “Make no mistake about it: What happened that day was a disgrace, and it mocks decency to portray it in any other way,” Pence said of Tucker Carlson’s journalism, which is at odds with the official narrative.

Mike, you're a disgrace. The only thing left for you to do that could possibly salvage your shattered reputation is to shut up and go away long enough that maybe some people will forget what a horrible person you revealed yourself to be. Every time you open your mouth you only make it worse for yourself. Stop digging.

On the one-year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a lengthy press conference in Kyiv, answering questions from journalists from around the world. In the briefing, Zelensky he answered a wide range of questions from reporters as he marked a year since Russia invaded his country on February 24, 2022. These included whether he believes his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin might invade another country; the possibility of Putin being tried for war crimes in the International Criminal Court in the Hague; on weapons promised by the West.

It’s not exactly a sign of a healthy democratic discourse that it’s virtually impossible to ask a critical question about the United States’ role in the Ukraine-Russia conflict without being smeared as a Putin apologist or an “isolationist.” We’ve been bombarded with bromides about a civilizational struggle that pits the forces of autocracy and liberalism against each other. “It’s not just about freedom in Ukraine,” Biden tells us. “It’s about freedom of democracy at large.”

Military historian and Hillsdale College professor Mark Moyar has just published Triumph Regained: The Vietnam War, 1965-1968, which is the second in what will become a massive three-volume revision of the entire Vietnam War. It is a book that should be widely read, much discussed, and reviewed in depth regardless of one’s view of that sad chapter in American diplomacy and conflict in Vietnam. The first book, Triumph Forsaken: The Vietnam War, 1954-1965 appeared in 2006. It gained considerable attention for its heterodox analysis of the postwar origins of communist aggression against the South, beginning with the disastrous French colonial experience and its transference to the Americans.

And there is nobody coming to put it out.” “It,” in this case, is the possibility that once again Donald Trump will prevail over a splintered Republican field, getting the same 30-40 percent he received in the early primaries in 2016, enough to win the nomination. “He,” is a Republican donor and bundler, a Wall Street financier who regularly hobnobs with senior Republican officials but who also was, uniquely for his tribe, an early and enthusiastic supporter of Trump.

In early April, the coffin containing the body of 75-year-old Vladimir Zhirinovsky—the ultranationalist and populist who was a crucial pillar of the Russian state for two decades—was taken to the Hall of Columns in central Moscow for people to pay their respects. Sixty-nine years ago, it was there that Stalin had lain in state, in the process killing one last wave of Russians, who were crushed to death in the huge crowds that had gathered to bid farewell to the Soviet dictator.

A Russian General Agrees with the US President: One month before Russian forces invaded Ukraine, a retired Russian general condemned the imminent war in much the same terms as President Joe Biden. Both the general and US. President have called on President Vladimir Putin to step down. War against Ukraine, the general wrote, is an unnecessary and criminal act that will harm the Russian people and their country. Biden now calls Putin a war criminal.

Russia already has nuclear weapons in the Baltic region, Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said on Thursday. One of Russian President Vladimir Putin's closest allies warned NATO on Thursday that if Sweden and Finland joined the U.S.-led military alliance then Russia would have to bolster its defences in the region, including by deploying nuclear weapons. Anusauskas told Lithuania's BNS wire that nuclear weapons have been deployed in Russia's Kaliningrad exclave on the Baltic Sea since before the current crisis.

Pundits skeptical of or even hostile to Ukraine’s cause in its defensive war against Russia have different reasons, or rationalizations, for their views and hail from different points on the political spectrum. But there is one belief that unites nearly all of them: the conviction that Ukraine is not a democracy fighting for its survival but an American “Deep State” project, with a regime installed by a 2014 coup that was led by Ukrainian far-right extremists and backed or even engineered by the U.S. State Department.

Russia’s ill-fated invasion of Ukraine recalls Britain and France’s Suez campaign in 1956. Britain and France’s humiliating retreat marked the end of their status as first-rank powers and the beginning of a troubled period of political crises and loss of territory to independence movements. History may repeat itself.

San Francisco residents lined up at a city board meeting last night to share their full-throated support of a wide-eyed reparations plan that would award every black resident $5million, wipe their personal debt, guarantee $97,000 incomes for 250 years and $1 homes. But no one at the emotional meeting - where residents burst into song and begged to be made 'whole' - asked how the struggling, debt-addled city might pay for it. Reparations are being considered in various Democratic cities around America as a means of providing compensation to the descendants of enslaved African-Americans.

After months of near-silence and innuendo, Florida Gov. and GOP presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis decided to speak about Ukraine, removing all doubt about his position. While his statement on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show makes a handful of valid points, it is ridden with a fundamental misunderstanding of the war and US geopolitical interests. First, the good. DeSantis is correct to criticize the Biden administration’s lack of clear objectives in its support for “as long as it takes,” which is a recipe for a long and intractable conflict — which Americans would be right to reject.

The South Carolina U.S. Senator asked how former President Ronald Reagan would have handled it and suggested the United States take a more forceful approach with its response.“They shot down our drone. What should our answer be?” host Sean Hannity asked.“Well, we should hold them accountable and say that if you ever get near another U.S. flying in international waters, your airplane would be shot down,” Graham responded. “What would Ronald Reagan do right now? Some electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are scrapping the AM radio from their cars, claiming safety concerns. Although conservative talk radio dominates AM radio ratings, it is also considered a critical safety tool, as it is one of the primary ways that federal, state, and local officials communicate with the public during natural disasters and other emergencies. Automakers such as Ford and Tesla have ditched the AM radio from their newer EV models, arguing that the motors on EVs interfere with AM frequencies, creating buzzing and signal fading, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

Greta “Damien” Thunberg was forced to delete a tweet predicting the world could no longer be saved in 2023. So why did she delete this tweet? Because we’re already a quarter of the way through 2023, and if the world can no longer be saved, if it’s too late to reverse climate change (which is a hoax), Greta and her fascist agenda are no longer relevant. After all, if it’s too late to save the world, we might as well party on, right? Here’s what happened… In June of 2018, the high school dropout tweeted a quote from an article predicting, “climate change [which is a hoax] will wipe out all of humanity

Pentagon officials said in a draft document last week that aliens could be visiting our solar system and releasing smaller probes like missions conducted by NASA when studying other planets. A draft research report authored by Sean Kirkpatrick, the director of the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), and Abraham Loeb, chairman of Harvard University’s astronomy department was released on March 7 and focuses on the physical constraints of unidentified aerial phenomena. “…An artificial interstellar object could potentially be a parent craft that releases many small probes during its close passage to Earth, an operational construct not too dissimilar from NASA missions,” the report read.

Amid the litany of weather reports and coverage of a U.S. drone being downed in the Black Sea after colliding with a Russian jet and recent woke banks going under, Wednesday’s CBS Mornings made it interesting when they spent a few minutes fawning over San Francisco moving closer to offering $5 million, guaranteed incomes of $97,000, and homes for the price of $1 to Black residents as reparations. This was despite the fact that, as they admitted, a Hoover Institution estimate found it could cost San Franciscans of other races (and presumably those in poverty) $600,000 in new taxes. Talk about a case of mass racial arson.
