Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador claimed Mexico is safer than the United States.
Obrador made the comments amid increased scrutiny over violence in his country. The scrutiny comes after the violent kidnapping of four American tourists — two of whom were murdered.
“Mexico is safer than the United States. There is no issue with traveling safely through Mexico. That’s something the U.S. citizens also know, just like our fellow Mexicans that live in the U.S.,” the president said during a daily morning press briefing, CNN reported.
He pointed to the large number of American tourists who routinely visit the country as proof

As long as you stay out of the large lie-beral Demon-Rat run cities (like NYC, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Seatle, Portland, San Forniaction, etc, etc) the other 98% of this country is super safe and nice.
At this point, I would safely say that there are very few places that I could go in Mexico that are not at least as dangerous as the cesspool lie-beral cities here in the USA.

#1 is correct. I would add Atlanta, Baltimore, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cincinnati, Washington, DC, Richmond, Milwaukee, Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Obrador is hungrily awaiting the horde of college breakers on the way to his "safe" vacation destinations. If you drive there you don't value your life all that much but flying is still relatively safe.

And THAT, Mr. Obrador, your misperception,
is exactly why your country will never be more than a third world doorstep. While WE, sir, are on an express elevator to join you.

Anywhere in America one can normally drink the water...the garbage that permeates the water in Mexico renders it toxic to anyone not born there!
How is that safer? We even try to overcome the Cartels rather than capitulate.. at least it was that way before the Cartels became the primary funding of the DNC.

Any place is safe if you can carry a gun. So I guess mexico is safe for cartel members. Not many other people.
On the other hand, everywhere I go is safe because I, just a regular schmoe, carry a gun.

If Mexico is so safe and great., than Iguassu they no longer nèd a penny of US financial aid. I'm sure President Obrador will start sending aid to the US, set travel advisories against coming to the US, and lock down the Mexican border to keep his people safe from us dangerous Americans. All of those "refugees " from other countries will surely be happy to stay in Mexico since it is so safe according to Obrador. The US must take immediate steps to assure they stay in Mexico, for their safety of course.

Some good advice.
Hey Manny, you had better hurry up and straighten your border situation along with the fentanyl problem or we will be coming to visit to straighten both out.
We're not going to be waiting much longer, maybe just two more years when we get rid of this BUM in the Country's White House.

Part of the danger of traveling in Mexico is running afoul of their corrupt law enforcement personnel and crooked courts.

What is Biden to do now? Even 3rd World Mexico is dictating terms at the US. Trump is waving a finger at Obrador.

The Mexican President would be right had Mexico not gotten much worse than it was. But it did. So he's wrong.

An estimated 90% of crime goes unreported in the great sovereign blur of a country Mexico. To include every level of corrupt government and "private" business.

If Mexico is safer than the US, it only makes sense for the migrants to stay there rather than risk entering our country.

I finished a four week tour of Mexico recently. As always, stay away from places you don’t belong and from consorting with people you don’t know. Use drugs or suck down alcohol…
Had no issues and saw nothing that raised any alarm in me.
