Per RedState’s Sunday evening reporting, Elon Musk put out a poll asking if he should step down from Twitter, promising to abide by the result. Well, the result is now in, and a majority believe the newsmaking billionaire should go focus more on Tesla and SpaceX. (Tweet) 61 percent say Musk should “step down as head of Twitter.” That’s not surprising given that Twitter has always been a majority left-wing site. When talking about a poll that got that much play, there was no chance the result would be anything different. In response, some are claiming Musk made a mistake, effectively “owning” himself in the process.

The January 6 committee on Monday referred former president Donald Trump to the Department of Justice for prosecution on four charges related to his conduct leading up to and during the riot that occurred in the Capitol in the wake of his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
The referrals include obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., making a false statement, and inciting an insurrection, the last of which could disqualify Trump from holding public office in the future.
Trump attempted to “disrupt the peaceful transition of power” in a grave betrayal of duty as outlined in the “take care” clause of the Constitution and in a “crime

There is an endless list of factors students consider while choosing a college: size, cost, campus life, proximity to home. But since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June — removing nearly 50 years of federal protections for abortions and giving states the right to make the procedure illegal within their jurisdictions — abortion access has become an increasingly influential consideration in students’ college decisions. Of those planning to enroll in an undergraduate program sometime in the next 12 months, 39% said that the court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade will affect their decision to attend

Most Americans know something has gone terribly wrong—and very abruptly—with the United States. They are certain that our wounds are almost all self-inflicted. The current pathologies are not a result of a natural disaster, an exhaustion of natural resources, plagues, or an existential war.
Crushing national debt and annual deficits, spiraling food and fuel costs amid “normal” seven-percent-plus annual inflation, bread-and-circuses entitlements, a nonexistent border, a resurgence of racial tribalism, pandemic violent criminality, and humiliation abroad—all these pathologies are easily cited as symptoms of a sick patient. Our crises are not as the Left maintains

Outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney, one of two Republican members of the House select committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot, slammed former President Donald Trump on Monday as “unfit for any office” in her statement kicking off the panel’s final public meeting.
Cheney (R-Wyo.), 56, chronicled the peaceful transfer of power in America from the time of George Washington on, remarking that all presidents have honored that tradition “except one.”
She went on to say that among the “most shameful” of the committee’s findings

Fearing a huge winter upswing in the number of COVID and flu cases, government officials are once again calling on Americans to don their masks to keep the deadly viruses from spreading. But some take it a step further, suggesting even children 5 and under should put on masks. The latest I&I/TIPP Poll asks: Is that a good idea?
The answer, probably not surprisingly to anyone, appears to depend heavily on a variety of factors, including where you live, your race, your gender and your political leanings. So, at the very least, we’re likely in for another politicized debate over the practice of masking, this time for the youngest among us.

Representative Chip Roy, a Texas Republican, sat down with Fox News host Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday to discuss securing the U.S.-Mexico border and the job the Biden administration has done so far.(Photo) Bream confronted Roy, pressing him on Democrat criticism—saying that Republicans may actually be the problem by reiterating that the southern border is open, attracting more people to come.
"Biden campaigned on it. There were people showing up to our border wearing Biden T-shirts," the GOP lawmaker said. "There's nothing hidden around the world about what this administration is doing and what Democrats on Capitol Hill are doing to say that our borders are wide open."

NEW YORK -- There are new fears that New York City could be hit with a surge of migrants. This week, Title 42, a policy that has kept many asylum seekers from entering the country, is set to expire. Mayor Eric Adams is warning that there could be upwards of 1,000 migrants bused into the city each and every week, if the policy is allowed to expire. It's not clear how he arrived at that number, but it is clear that there is concern the system could be overwhelmed. The U.S.-Mexico border has been packed with migrants desperate to get in.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced new efforts intended to handle the crush of migration at the southern border with the scheduled end of Title 42 approaching – and announced unequivocally that 'the border is not open.'
The tough talk came as the daily influx at the southern border continued to drive headlines two days before a court ordered covid policies that have allowed asylum seekers to be turned away are due to end.
'But I want to be very clear here. The fact is that the removal of title 42 does not mean the border is open. Anyone who suggests otherwise is simply doing the work of the smugglers

Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (CA) on Sunday threatened social media companies after Elon Musk allowed conservatives back on Twitter.
Adam Schiff is not happy that Democrats can no longer control the narrative on Twitter.
Schiff on Sunday told social media companies that Congress will take away their Section 230 immunity if they don’t ‘moderate’ content (code word for banning conservatives).
“We’ve got a big problem right now with social media companies and their failure to moderate content

The absurdity of the concept of reparations for slavery, an institution that ended several generations ago, is beyond mind-boggling. But there’s a blatantly cynical reason for the sudden lurch in that direction: formerly reliable Black voters are now slipping away from the Democrats. This also explains Biden’s recently expressed profuse generosity towards the nations of sub-Saharan Africa.
What is also painfully obvious is the lame, demagogic pandering that is the Democrats’ knee-jerk response, especially to a defecting constituency: just throw money at them and that’ll keep ‘em on the reservation.

Hollywood put more abortion plotlines in its TV shows in 2022 than in any of the past five years, as the studios and networks ratcheted up the outrage machine following the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade.
There were at least 60 abortion plotlines or mentions of abortion in 52 distinct TV shows from January to December 2022 — more than any other year since 2016, according to the annual “Abortion Onscreen” report from the pro-abortion organization Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health.
That outnumbers the 47 abortion plotlines in 42 shows in 2021, the report said.
