Rob Schneider’s rousing defense of America

Original Article

Posted By: DW626, 12/19/2022 5:54:25 AM

Many Americans remember Rob Schneider from his time on Saturday Night Live in the late 1980s through the early 1990s, when he created several amusing characters. After leaving SNL, he’s had a decent Hollywood career, although he hasn’t had the fame his pal Adam Sandler has enjoyed. I hope, though, that Schneider will be remembered for something else. In a Twitter thread, he expressed his love for America and her constitutional values, especially when arrayed against the mindless emotionalism and techno-fascism that now threatens those values.

As much as I appreciate it when famous folks like Schneider stand up and express their patriotism, it always rings a bit hollow when I learn they never served in the military as I firmly believe no citizen has the right to the benefits of a society until he, she—or for that matter, ze—has worn the uniform and put his, her—or zer—life on the line to defend that society. (And for the record, I too am a graduate of SF State but way back when it was just a college.)

I couldn't agree more! It would be great to have a standing army of 40 or 50 million.

I must respectfully disagree with the opinion one isn’t really a patriot or have an opinion unless one has worn the uniform. For lack of a better way to put it, that’s just silly.

Seriously #1? No citizen has the right to the benefits of a society unless they served in the military? That's ridiculous. What about all the honest tax-paying citizens who have paid into the system their entire working life? They have no right to the benefits of our society? I went to college after high school rather than enlist in the military, and I've paid my taxes into the federal government every year since I started working. That means I have "skin in the game". I've contributed to this society that you say I have no right to, and I "firmly believe" that gives me the right to the benefits of our society................seeing as how I helped pay for them.

#1. The Colonial Militia weren't in the Continental Army. They sure helped out when called on. I guess you could say they served, but they also went home for harvest, etc. IMO every state should have a citizens Militia and I don't mean the National Guard.

Oh, please #1. Not all people can serve in the military especially with health conditions.

If you are a conservative voter in America today at some point you have to realize you have no representation in the US Senate. Mitch McConnell has a 33 percent approval rating, the lowest in the US Senate and yet he was reelected as GOP Leader with 37 votes to 10 votes for Senator Scott. The Senate Republicans REALLY, really hate their base. The bill gives another $44.9 billion to Ukraine — where it disappears into the ether. The bill also makes it impossible for Americans to challenge a stolen election.

Why reparations now? 20 replies

The absurdity of the concept of reparations for slavery, an institution that ended several generations ago, is beyond mind-boggling. But there’s a blatantly cynical reason for the sudden lurch in that direction: formerly reliable Black voters are now slipping away from the Democrats. This also explains Biden’s recently expressed profuse generosity towards the nations of sub-Saharan Africa. What is also painfully obvious is the lame, demagogic pandering that is the Democrats’ knee-jerk response, especially to a defecting constituency: just throw money at them and that’ll keep ‘em on the reservation.

“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.” –Sen. Charles Schumer, January 2017 Chuck Schumer said the above quote shortly after President-elect Donald Trump criticized and mocked his “intelligence” briefers for being unprepared and for delaying a scheduled briefing on Russia for several days. Given the FBI and CIA social media shenanigans that have recently come to light through the Twitter files that new owner Elon Musk has allowed to be released, it appears that Trump’s instincts regarding the “intelligence community” were correct.

A New York Federal court on Monday released more documents regarding Ghislaine Maxwell’s defamation lawsuit filed by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre. Most of the documents as you would expect were heavily redacted when it comes to revealing names of the wealthy elite who were Epstein’s associates but what did come to light was a deposition by Epstein victim Sarah Ransome. In Ransome’s deposition she claimed that Epstein did make blackmail sex tapes of his elite friends and would go on to state she even has copies of the tapes.

When warning Americans that freedom is in danger if political views that do not agree with theirs are not silenced, both Barack and Michelle Obama love to throw around the term "democracy." The Obama belief that opposing free speech somehow protects "democracy" proves that neither one understands the basic tenet of what they profess needs protecting. In Obama circles, rebuke, rejection, or refutation does not sit well. These two hypersensitive narcissists thrive on things like public adoration and unswerving agreement.

Can someone hit the brakes? We’re on a runaway train traveling at high speed, approaching a bend, and destined to careen off the tracks unless a brave soul tells the Republican Party to torpedo this heinous immigration deal that’s being mulled up on the Hill. I never thought I’d see the day when some Republicans would willingly back a mass amnesty bill and be blind to the fact that the only people who gain to benefit from this push, both in the immediate and long term, are Democrats. What's comforting about the Twitter Files is the satisfaction of knowing the exact connections between the wokey useful idiots at Twitter and their Deep State masters. It's easy to think of the social-media big boys as cunning and malevolent monsters, but if they are anything like the world of SBF and FTX, it seems to me that they are shallow fools -- naifs, silly wokey putty in the hands of the regime security police. I just can't take a woman like Vijaya Gadde seriously. Or a man like Yoel Roth. Maybe that's the point of today's woke education system.

The unabashed political persecution and unconscionable years of pre-trial incarceration for some January 6th protestors in direct violation of the Sixth Amendment. The near-psychotic obsession to indict and convict Donald Trump of any specious federal crime. The admission by the FBI that they instructed social media companies prior to the 2020 election to censor stories unfavorable to Joe Biden. These actions, among many others over the years, have confirmed that the Department of Justice is teeming with politicized prosecutors and a federal police force that is allied with one political party and is browbeating the citizenry on their behalf.

In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon in the U.S. Capitol, Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was talking about priorities for the United States as lawmakers rush to pass a $1.7 trillion omnibus bill.  According to Leader McConnell — who said he was speaking for "most Republicans" — the "number one priority" for the United States is not any of the pressing domestic issues plaguing Americans as a result of President Joe Biden and his administration. No, McConnell said that "providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now, according to most Republicans." Really?

The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much? The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history. But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?

He waved to Conway as they parted ways. The unlikely pair had been at the center of political power just two years ago.
