The latest episode of Fox Nation’s Tucker Carlson Today aired Tuesday and included the first part of Tucker’s interview with country music superstar and musician John Rich of Big & Rich.
In what might be an homage to the late, great Johnny Carson, longtime host of “The Tonight Show,” Tucker asked Rich, who grew up in a trailer, what he did when, “all of a sudden, you make money.”
Carson often asked young, up-and-coming actors and other performers who had “overnight success” what their first big purchase was when they got that payday.

A veteran police officer is fighting for his life after he was mugged by three men while on his morning jog through the Bronx.
The unnamed officer, an 18-year veteran assigned to the Central Park precinct, was running through the Soundview district at 10:30am when he was attacked.
He was discovered lying on the sidewalk bleeding from his ear on Olmstead Avenue, between Lafayette and Turnbull Avenues.
The officer was taken to Jacobi hospital and diagnosed with a fractured skull and bleeding from the brain.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has a whopping 24-point lead over Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin with 11 weeks to go before Election Day, according to a new poll released Tuesday.
The incumbent Democrat had 55% support among likely voters in the poll conducted between Aug. 17 and Aug. 22 by SurveyUSA on behalf of WNYT-TV in Albany. Another 31% backed Zeldin and 14% said they were undecided.
There was some good news for Zeldin in the survey, with 33% of voters saying battling inflation was the most important issue when it comes to deciding their vote for governor. Health care and criminal justice reform were a distant second on 12% each.

The Biden administration is leaning toward canceling up to $10,000 in student loan debt for those who make less than $125,000 a year, according to a new report. CNN reported that the announcement could come Wednesday, and that additional forgiveness for specific parts of the population are on the table as well. Liberal Democrats such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts have pressed for a far more sweeping loan forgiveness program. The income cap was seen as a way of insulating the White House from criticism that the debt relief is benefiting those who can afford their payments, per CNN.
Former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner played a key role in laying the groundwork for Mike Pence to be selected as the 2016 GOP vice presidential nominee, but he admits now that it had a “painful” beginning.
In his new book released today, Breaking History: A White House Memoir, Kushner wrote that unlike in other campaigns, the candidate decided to lead the search for a running mate, and Trump initially settled on Pence, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and New Jersey Gov. Gallup released survey data Thursday showing that Millennials and Gen Z Americans are sticking with the “Independent” label. In fact, more of the surveyed Millennial and Gen Z Americans identify as Independent than as Republican and Democrat combined.
The poll found that 52% of both Gen Z and Millennials identify as Independent.
Investigators say the woman suspected of killing two people and injuring a third, at two separate locations in Midtown on Monday afternoon, specifically targeted her victims.
The shootings essentially locked down the Midtown neighborhood in the heart of Atlanta for a couple of hours.
The name of the woman arrested or how she is connected to the victims have not yet been released.
Westley Freeman, 41, of Atlanta, and Michael Shinners, 60, of Alpharetta, were both killed in the shooting, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office says.
Around 1:46 p.m., Atlanta 911 received a call reporting a shooting at 1280 W. Peachtree Street, at the corner of 16th Street.
A federal judge convicted two men on Tuesday of conspiring in 2020 to kidnap Democratic Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The two men, Adam Fox and Barry Croft, face a maximum sentence of life in prison for the kidnapping conspiracy, and were also charged with one count of conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction.
Defense attorneys claimed that the men were entrapped by government undercover agents and informants to go through the kidnapping scheme.
DENVER — The use of marijuana by young adults in this country is now at an all-time high. A new survey also says the same group is using hallucinogens like never before. The study was conducted by the National Institutes of Health. It surveyed young adults between the ages of 19 and 30. Overall, 43% of those surveyed said they used pot over the past year. Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted in a Friday Washington Post report that his $10.4 million financial portfolio was hidden from being easily obtained by American citizens.
After watchdogs failed for months to obtain his financial disclosures, Fauci’s 2020 portfolio was obtained and published by Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) on January 14. Fauci’s disclosures were obtained by Marshall after Fauci called the senator a “moron” on a hot mic at a Senate hearing.
“Maybe the senator has a point,” Fauci said about the hidden disclosures. “Maybe my financial investments, though disclosed and available, should be much easier to see.”
As the highest paid federal employee of the federal government, Fauci must publicly disclose financial statements.
Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Monday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump was the first president of the United States “without character.”

Anthony Bradford, 19, approached a 12-year-old girl in a park on Detroit’s east side around 10 p.m. last Tuesday and demanded that she surrender her shoes. When the girl told Bradford to pound sand, he shot her. [Tweet]
Bradford was arrested and charged with armed robbery, assault with intent to murder, carrying a concealed weapon, felony firearm possession, resisting arrest, and obstructing.
The 12-year-old girl was shot in her right hip and is said to be in stable condition. Her name was not released.

A new poll finds that more than half of Americans think the U.S. is being invaded by illegal aliens flooding into the country. And they are right, no matter what President Joe Biden claims, or how diligently the mainstream press tries to cover it up.
“More than half (54%) of Americans think it’s at least somewhat true that we’re experiencing an invasion at the southern border,” according to the NPR/Ipsos poll.
That is a shocking finding, given the denials from the administration that there is a crisis at all, and the fact that the mainstream media will cover anything but the flood of illegal immigrants under Biden.

When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me. He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth. In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible.
No doubt still sulking over the Roe v. Wade reversal — the opening sentence of their recent op-ed published in The New York Times is, “When liberals lose at the Supreme Court — as they increasingly have over the past half-century” — two Ivy League professors laid out their claims for an America without Constitutional limitations. They suggest, “the way to seek real freedom will be to use procedures consistent with popular rule.” Of course, the piece is polished sewage: tyranny of the majority is a very real, and very dangerous threat to the individual, (perhaps they should go read Federalist 10, but they likely wouldn’t understand that either).

After picking nominees for the state Assembly and statewide offices like governor and senator back in June, residents of the Empire State are being asked to turn up again Tuesday to decide primaries for the House of Representatives and the state Senate.
“Turnout is the variable in every primary, but we are in uncharted territory,” political consultant Evan Stavisky told The Post Monday. “New York has never had an August primary, so it’s an open question how many people are going to participate.”
The Pentagon has denied a second request by Washington DC's mayor to help receive migrants arriving from Republican-led states Texas and Arizona.
Mayor Muriel Bowser in July called for the deployment of the District of Columbia National Guard to help with migrants describing it as a 'humanitarian crisis'.
Bowser asked for 90-day deployment and for a review at the end of that period, but the request was denied by the U.S. military.

Former Milwaukee Archbishop Rembert Weakland has died at age 95, the Milwaukee archdiocese announced Monday morning.
He died overnight at Clement Manor in Greenfield, where he lived, after a long illness.
Weakland was appointed archbishop of Milwaukee by Pope Paul VI on Sept. 20, 1977. He was ordained a bishop on Nov. 8, 1977, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee, and on the same occasion was installed as Milwaukee's ninth archbishop.
Weakland was accused of sexually assaulting a 33-year-old man.
A 60-year-old Uber driver has been killed in Dallas after her car was swept away in floodwaters while she was on the phone with her husband - with the grim news coming just as Texas recorded the wettest August day in history.
