During his Wednesday morning appearance on CNN's "New Day," Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist launched into effusive praise of how "exceptional" President Biden has been as leader of the country.
Crist called Biden a "great man," a "great president" and "the best I’ve ever met" while expressing high interest in Biden helping him campaign against the incumbent Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.
"New Day" guest host Kaitlan Collins prompted Crist’s soliloquy of praise for the current president, asking the Congressman, "Do you want President Biden to come campaign for you?"
While other Democratic Party candidates have balked at the question – Ohio Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, famously dodged CNN’s

In his first press conference since winning Tuesday's Democrat primary in the Florida governor's race, Rep. Charlie Crist — the former Republican-turned Democrat — made it clear whose votes he did not want in November's general election.
When asked about his message for Floridians who support current GOP Governor Ron DeSantis and how he'd seek to win their vote in November, Crist didn't hesitate to disavow their support for his campaign.
"Those who support the governor should stay with him and vote for him and I don't want your vote," Crist bellowed. "If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there,"

In the social hierarchy of prison inmates, mob bosses, bank robbers, and cop killers tend to get respect. But “short eyes,” those convicts who have committed crimes against children, especially sexual abuse, are hated, harassed, and abused. In schools, however, this group of detestable perverts rates a “meh.”
The numbers are stunning. A report prepared for the U.S. Department of Education in 2004 revealed that nearly 9.6% of students are victims of sexual abuse by school personnel, and these are just the reported cases.
Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct & Exploitation (SESAME), a nonprofit that works to stop childhood sexual abuse by teachers and other school employees, discloses that in 2015,

Tensions are high in Israel, as it is felt that once again the most disastrous of deals, the Iran nuclear deal, is being rushed to conclusion, its timing coinciding with the uncertain political situation in Israel. Despite persistent warnings from Israel and the region’s moderate Arab countries, the deal’s signatories, the P5+1 — namely Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany — are insisting on hurtling into an agreement that in just a few years will legitimize the very nuclear activity that the deal is meant to be preventing. Moreover, with Iran all but having achieved nuclear capabilities, the Iran nuclear deal

"No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” That’s what it says right there in the Constitution. And yet, without any legislation, Joe Biden now promises to “cancel” up to $10,000 in student loans per borrower ($20,000 for Pell Grant borrowers), limited to those with annual incomes of less than $125,000.
Let’s start by pointing out that President Joe Biden isn’t “canceling” or “forgiving” any student loans. Those are preposterous euphemisms favored by Democrats and the media. The debt in question already exists, it has been lent and spent, and those who borrowed the money of their own volition

Former Vice President Mike Pence confirmed on Wednesday that he has about as much chance of being the Republican nominee for president in 2024 as Nancy Pelosi has of joining the Radio City Rockettes. Demonstrating a tone-deafness of Olympian proportions, Pence had harsh words for the Republicans who are appalled at how the FBI has become a tool of the partisan vendetta of Old Joe Biden and Merrick Garland against Donald Trump. In Pence’s world, the stout-hearted G-Men are still of unquestionable integrity, square-jawed, patriotic, non-partisan, and ever-vigilant for truth, justice, and the American way.

A new group called Climate Intelligence (Clintel for short) has been founded in the Netherlands with the express purpose of combatting the extremism of the climate change campaigners. One of their early efforts is a statement, signed by 1,100 scientists and policy experts from around the world, that argues “There Is No Climate Emergency.”
This link goes to the complete PDF, but the summary of their case is worth noting here in full:
Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific. Scientists should openly address uncertainties and exaggerations in their predictions of global warming, while politicians should dispassionately count the real costs as well as the

There’s genuine danger from AI, but not in the form that the public thinks. The idea of a single, sentient Skynet that will take over the world is probably not feasible. Facebook Meta’s new AI chatbot BlenderBot 3 made minor news when it called Mark Zuckerberg ‘creepy and manipulative.’ How could a product turn against its owner? Because it learns by observing others. The power of modern AI lies in its ability to find patterns in masses of data. If BlenderBot trained on human datasets, then it would reflect the fact that many people perceived Zuckerberg as ‘creepy’ rather than reaching that conclusion from logic built into it.

New CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht is not to be envied. He has taken over a cable news network that is bleeding profits and viewers with little prospect of improvement anytime soon.
Licht discovered, to his horror, that the network was massively dependent on Donald Trump for ratings. Without Trump to headline CNN’s news coverage, no one was very much interested in the biased commentary and left-wing slant to the news that became CNN’s hallmark.
CNN’s profits are expected to fall below $1 billion for the first time in many years. And its prime-time coverage is drawing less than 700,000 viewers a night. Clearly, Licht had to do something.

The foreseen “big red wave” may still be coming for the House in the midterms, but there has long been a question of how those tides may impact control of the Senate.
While Fox News’ Jessica Tarlov argued “do not reduce” Democratic legislative accomplishments, her defense of the left’s chances in November seemed to highlight a broader issue faced by the GOP. The co-host of “The Five” contended the favorability for Democrats after her colleague Jeanine Pirro railed to the contrary, laying emphasis on President Joe Biden’s low job approval and perceived constant breaks from his duties.

By now you know the story of the raid on Donald Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., but since then, there’s been a pitched debate in the chattering class on TV and the media about Trump’s ability to declassify information. And since he did declassify items, why is it an alleged crime now to possess those documents? I may have the beginnings of an answer.
It’s indisputable that the president may classify and declassify documents. The office of the president has had this authority since World War II. President Obama codified the executive authority to do it in an Executive Order. Even the Washington Post had to admit that.

Two years ago, I moved into a house on a golf course, so I have been learning golf — although learning is probably too generous a word. I am profoundly, terribly, remarkably awful, actually. When I get out on a golf course, I eschew the women's tee, which is closer to the hole than the men's tee, in favor of the children's tee, which is even closer.
Before I started golfing, I didn't realize that women got to start closer to the hole. Now I understand why: men are stronger. Much stronger. And that's why it matters that a man named Hailey Davidson is competing
