Former first lady Melania Trump breaks her silence on the January protests at the U.S. Capitol for the first time.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said she was “fulfilling” her official duties as the first lady during the infamous events that day.
“On January 6, 2021, I was fulfilling one of my duties as First Lady of the United States of America, and accordingly, I was unaware of what was simultaneously transpiring at the U.S. Capitol Building,” Trump said.
Her comments follow after her former Chief of Staff Stephanie Grisham alleged that Trump did not immediately sign off on a statement condemning the protests.

The New York Times opinion section actually published a shocking project where eight of their columnists admitted they were wrong about either economics, tech, foreign affairs or politics. At the top of the list was none other than “transitory” inflation gaslighter Paul Krugman.
The Times’s economic columnist published an op-ed with a headline that didn’t beat around the bush – for a change – and acknowledged how bad his unrealistic takes on the inflation crisis were for the past year. “I Was Wrong About Inflation,” says the headline. The disgruntled economist actually conceded that Biden’s irresponsible $1.9 trillion stimulus package was inflationary, despite his earlier objections to the contrary.

President Joe Biden broke CDC guidelines on Thursday by refusing to wear a mask around others while infected with the coronavirus.
The CDC website states, “It is important to wear a mask or respirator when you are sick or caring for someone who is sick with COVID-19.” Biden shared a photo and video of himself, seemingly alone, on social media. In order to capture those images, he had to be in close proximity to an individual holding a camera — and chose to go maskless: Biden had criticized former President Trump for not wearing a mask as president, calling him “falsely masculine.”

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will re-open on August 25 after being closed due to the pandemic. This is good news for young children who want a makeover in the dress-up salon to transform into a princess or a knight. There is a catch, though. Disney has not learned the lesson yet that not all of its customers wish to live in a world of gender neutrality in every aspect of their lives, especially in the lives of their young and impressionable children.

As I’ve pointed out a couple of times recently, China’s zero Covid lockdowns continue to impact hundreds of millions of people throughout the country, even though it’s having a negative impact on the country’s economy. But there’s some indication that the impact could be much worse over the long term than it is in the short term. In May the South China Morning Post reported on the uptick in professionals looking to leave China.
Emigration consultants in China have seen a rise in enquiries in recent months, with a noticeable spike since the end of March when outbreaks of the Omicron variant emerged in Shanghai…

Every reasonably honest observer knows the corporate media has a liberal bias. That bias is displayed more often in the topics they choose to emphasize than in outright misinformation. We all know the major narratives that the media is trying to drive home. There is none bigger than the idea that Republicans have become extreme, out of the mainstream and even dangerous. There is certainly some craziness on the American right, but it’s misinformation of the highest order to pretend the eccentricities of the right even approach the outright radicalism the left is mainstreaming today. That’s the big lie the media is trying to pull off. It’s not working.

These protests are against California’s recent law that treats freelancers, independent contractors, and other “gig workers” as employees, and since the state refuses to listen to the protesters, they’re digging in further.

VERDICT: FALSE. While some rioters attacked police, they did not kill any; the only person killed was a fellow rioter.
The January 6 Committee held its eighth public hearing on Thursday, and its second in prime time. The event was billed as a crucial moment, the last scheduled hearing and one in which damning evidence would be revealed about Trump’s role.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the chair of the committee, opened proceedings by addressing the hearing remotely, since he was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.

The anti-Republican super PAC paid $25,000 last month to an Abraham Lincoln impersonator as part of a trademark dispute, according to campaign finance disclosures. Chris Small, who has operated a Lincoln-themed educational company called the Lincoln Project since 2003, filed a petition with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in December 2020 to block the super PAC’s application for a trademark of the Lincoln Project name. Small, who gives historical renditions of Lincoln’s speeches, said the super PAC’s trademark theft created confusion for potential customers.

The January 6 Committee’s eighth public hearing Thursday produced testimony that there was a “heated discussion” between then-President Donald Trump and the Secret Service during the Capitol riot — not that Trump tried to seize the wheel of the presidential vehicle.
The testimony was a significant step back from claims last month by former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson — based on hearsay — that Trump had tried to wrest control of the vehicle from the Secret Service.
Hutchinson’s claimed were immediately disputed by the Secret Service agents she named, Tony Ornato and Bobby Engel.

After shedding light on Critical Race Theory in schools and various companies, Rufo is targeting Queer Theory. Rufo kicked off an epic Twitter thread showing that he indeed has the receipts to prove his allegations against the school district.

“Suppose they gave a war and no one came.”
That was a slogan of the 1960s anti-war movement. Now it’s becoming a reality, at least for the United States Army, as recruiting woes mount. The problem is a simple one: Not enough people want to be soldiers — and with reason.
The Army’s No. 2 officer told Congress Tuesday that the service has no choice but to reduce total force strength by 10,000 for the fiscal year starting in September, with the next year looking even bleaker: By the end of fiscal 2023, it could be up to 28,000 soldiers short of its 476,000-troop target.

The Left should be ecstatic that Joe Biden has given them everything they wanted.
The Left likes inflation. It reduces the value of old money by printing lots of new money. Those richer who have it, lose the value of their money; those poorer who don’t have any money, suddenly do.
When combined with low interest rates, inflation roars even louder. Not since Jimmy Carter has a Democrat been so insistent on inflating the money supply.
For decades, the Left has amplified former Energy Secretary Steven Chu’s 2008 dream that the government must spike fuel costs up to European levels. That was seen as the best way to force

In the immediate aftermath of the breaking news about President Joe Biden’s COVID diagnosis, Republicans and Democrats alike all wished the POTUS a speedy recovery. After all, though we have big political differences, those differences should – ideally – take second place, at least momentarily, when someone falls ill.
But as recent history has shown us, that rule doesn’t always apply when the sides are reversed, and that has been doubly true whenever anti-mask mandate Republicans were diagnosed with COVID and/or were then pictured going about their business without wearing masks, after which it was declared in so many words that they were “putting lives at risk.”

It's going to be a long, hot summer — and I'm not just talking about the weather.
Take a handful of hallucinogens, sedatives and edibles, wash them down with a healthy amount of your favorite liquor during a backyard barbecue with people you love, some you barely know and others you can't stand, and you'll approximate the political climate in the United States today on the eve of the midterm elections.
The summer of 2022 is hot and furious. We are dealing with a world literally on fire due to climate change.

The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits last week rose to the highest level in more than eight months in what may be a sign that the labor market is weakening.
Applications for jobless aid for the week ending July 16 rose by 7,000 to 251,000, up from the previous week´s 244,000, the Labor Department reported Thursday. That's the most since Nov. 13, 2021 when 265,000 Americans applied for benefits.
Analysts surveyed by the data firm FactSet expected the number to come in at 242,000.

Elon Musk recently declaring that we need to move on from President Donald Trump is the latest example of chatter I have noticed lately on the news and conservative blogs about why we need to do an about-face to Governor Ron DeSantis as our presidential nominee in 2024.

Hollywood comedians seem to have forgotten how to be funny when it comes to liberal politicians. Jimmy Kimmel, for example, has long since given up on the concept, becoming instead simply a mouthpiece for the Democrats and whatever their latest narrative is. He even “interviewed” Joe Biden where Biden descended into delusion, pushing false claims on his show.
But Kimmel had former Saturday Night Live legend Dana Carvey stand in for him and Carvey was willing to mock Joe Biden with some real comedy when Kimmel is not.
First, he did some of his funny old impressions like George H.W. Bush (“not gonna do it”) and the Church Lady.

WASHINGTON—A prosecution witness in the case against former White House aide Steve Bannon acknowledged on the stand on July 20 that she has known one of the prosecutors for some time.
The witness, Kristen Amerling, said she and one of the prosecutors “overlapped” on the House Oversight Committee while it was under the leadership of former Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.).
Amerling said she’s also been part of a book club for five years of which the prosecutor, Molly Gaston, is a member.
The club primarily comprises former aides to Waxman, she said.

As the Biden administration reels from a string of recent legal defeats, political analysts hail the U.S. Supreme Court’s latest ruling, West Virginia v. EPA, as but one component of a new, broad-based approach that the courts are taking to halt a century-long effort by progressives to empower the administrative state and rule Americans by bureaucratic decree.
Dating back to President Woodrow Wilson 100 years ago, progressive presidents, including Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden, have worked to transfer law-making authority from Congress to their executive agencies. Yes, it’s come to this. Renowned George Washington Law School professor and legal scholar Jonathan Turley is now calling for federal government action to protect free speech — particularly on the nation’s college campuses. Shocking? Not in the least; if anything, it should have happened long ago.
That reality is as profound as it is ominous. Here’s another:
In a recent email to The College Fix, Turley wrote:
The greatest danger is that the government will seek not to protect free speech but favor particular speech.
As I transcribed Professor Turley’s quote, I thought to myself: “Big Tech is already there; can the Democrat Party be far behind?”

The fact that our Second Amendment right to bear arms is protected, or better stated “shall not be infringed,” is one that irks our friends on the left, perhaps more so than any other Constitutional right. Their attitude tends to be, “Damn you and your rights, we’ll do all the infringing we want.” They typically crank up their volume on such assertions after a tragic school shooting and do their best to ignore episodes that show the benefit of private gun ownership.
After two brutal incidents in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York, in May, gun rights opponents were pushing hard on their narrative. Assault weapons are unnecessary, they told us.

Senate Republicans may yet sink House-passed legislation that would essentially codify federal same-sex marriage rights granted by the Supreme Court in 2015.
But that was far from certain Wednesday as the Senate began informally considering the Respect for Marriage Act, which cleared the House 24 hours earlier with unanimous Democratic support and 47 out of 204 available Republican votes. There immediately appeared to be four GOP votes for the bill, while several other Senate Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, were noncommittal.

Joe Biden just dropped the biggest bombshell in presidential history. Either that or he dropped the biggest gaffe. It’s probably the latter, as we’ll discuss, but I’m not sure that makes things any better. While speaking in Massachusetts on Wednesday, the president claimed to have “cancer,” citing supposed oil slicks on the windows of cars. Apparently, being exposed to oil residue as a child gives you cancer later in life? I don’t know. None of what he says in the following clip makes sense, and it’s best to just take it for what it is.
