Senate lawmakers want the military to end a program created after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol to eliminate White nationalists and other extremists from its ranks. The language calling for an end to the effort is contained in a report accompanying the Senate’s annual defense policy bill, and it cites a Pentagon analysis showing that the military has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and devoted millions of hours searching for extremism in its service branches, even though it is exceedingly uncommon. “The committee believes that spending additional time and resources to combat exceptionally rare instances of extremism in the military is an inappropriate use

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published its estimates for the fatality rate for leading causes of death over October to December last year on Wednesday. Data showed that despite the surge in infections at the time, fatalities caused by Covid remained minimal among American children less than 15 years old—with the disease not becoming the leading cause of death. The vast majority of Hispanics are unhappy with President Biden’s overall job performance, and their dissatisfaction extends to a suite of issues including the economy, foreign policy, gun violence, and the handling of Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Only 19 percent of Hispanics approve of Biden’s conduct as president, while 70 percent disapprove, according to a new Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday. Of Hispanics who disapprove, 49 percent feel strongly about it while 20 percent are somewhat discontented.

As the House committee probing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol continues to reveal how it says then-President Donald Trump and his allies worked to overturn the 2020 election, a bipartisan group of senators has quietly reached agreement on a sweeping effort to overhaul the very law at the heart of the former president's effort -- the Electoral Count Act of 1887 -- and was set to unveil a bill Wednesday.
The ambiguous 19th century law attempts to prescribe both the process by which the Electoral College selects the president and vice president and how Congress then counts those votes.

The president suggested that the pollution was to blame for the skin cancer that he would later experience, saying that Delaware used to have the "highest cancer rate in the nation''. A BASIC PUBLIC HEALTH PRINCIPLE:

A federal appeals court ruled today that Georgia’s restrictive 2019 abortion law should be allowed to take effect, overruling a lower court.
The three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a Mississippi case that overturned Roe v. Wade and returned abortion law to the states, “makes clear no right to abortion exists under the Constitution, so Georgia may prohibit them.”
The law in Georgia — a massive film and television production hub — bans most abortions when there’s a detectable human heartbeat, which can be as early as six weeks, before women know they are pregnant. It has exceptions

“Why did Disneyland cut Walt Disney’s opening day speech from today’s anniversary celebration?,” asked one fan on Twitter.

Case in point: the majority of the hosts on ABC’s “The View,” whose considered opinion is that Dicken just got “very lucky,” and was probably as bad as the mass shooter since he “broke the law” when he carried his gun into the mall.

In the past fifty years, we’ve had precisely ten different First Ladies in America.
Some of them spent their time in the White House mostly under the radar, with Rosalynn Carter and both Laura and Barbara Bush falling into this category. Others such as Nancy Reagan with her fondness for astronomy and Betty Ford with her personal challenges were somewhat quirkier, but they were likeable and mostly unremarkable. Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama could be outspoken and controversial, but at least they were mostly clever and competent. And then we have Jill Biden.

"The time lapse between the moment that Jonathan Sapirman exited the restroom and began shooting, and when he was shot by the civilian was only fifteen seconds, not two minutes," Greenwood Police Chief James Ison said Tuesday in a statement. "The surveillance video shows Sapirman exit the restroom at 5:56:48pm. He was neutralized by Dicken at 5:57:03 pm."

The antibodies triggered by COVID-19 vaccines are interfering with people’s immune systems as newer virus variants emerge, Dr. Harvey Risch said.
The two most widely-used vaccines in the United States, produced by Pfizer and Moderna, both work by sending messenger RNA into muscle cells, where they produce a piece of the spike protein from the virus that causes COVID-19. The spike protein triggers the production of antibodies, which are believed to help prevent infection by SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, and fight illness if one still gets infected.
But the vaccines are based on the spike protein from the original virus variant, which was displaced early in the pandemic.

President Joe Biden called climate change an “emergency” during a Wednesday speech and vowed to use executive powers to bypass Congressional Republicans opposed to his sweeping agenda.
“Since Congress is not acting as it should, and these guys here are, but we’re not getting any Republican votes, this is an emergency,” Biden said from the podium in Somerset, Mass., apparently gesturing at Democrats around him. Giuliani, who once served as Trump’s lawyer, was subpoenaed earlier this month but his summons was moved to New York, where he is a resident. A New York judge scheduled a July 13 hearing allowing Giuliani an opportunity to fight the summons.
The judge ordered Giuliani’s testimony for August 9 after he failed to appear for his hearing last week.

If there was one lesson the Democrats learned from 2020 forward, it was that, if the government convinces voters there's an emergency, the voters will let the government get away with murder. That's why there is a huge push from the left for Biden to declare a "climate emergency" and, under that rubric, end fossil fuels in America on an accelerated timeline. If Biden were to do this — and to get away with doing it — America is over. Kaput. The great experiment will have ended.

As the United States continues to come to grips with the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, I cannot stop thinking about how the court used a legal system built entirely by men to diminish women — once again — into nothing more than a vessel for producing babies.
I am a rabbi in a legal system that excluded women for thousands of years, much like the legal system that the Supreme Court relied on in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. But unlike the American legal system, the Jewish tradition, in certain respects, including abortion, found a way to craft laws grounded in equal dignity for women.

When first lady Jill Biden spoke to the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) 2022 Convention in Boston last week, her remarks were notable more for political signaling than for substantive content.
Delivered with an “us-against the world” tone, the first lady rallied her troops in a nakedly partisan fashion.
Decrying hunger, gun violence and limits to abortion, Biden planted her flag in familiar territory. Her choice of words left the unmistakable sense she is quite willing to further the already uncomfortable distance between parents and educators if doing so furthers the political agenda of the left.

President Joe Biden thinks it’s important to decouple America from its reliance on fossil fuels. Most of America disagrees, yet he keeps pushing for the adoption of renewables to replace the energy that comes from traditional sources like petroleum and natural gas. That’s why we’ve seen the price we pay at the pump spike so high. Not that the green energy crowd is much bothered by that. To them, the decline in the consumption of fossil fuels reduces the production of greenhouse gasses, which is music to their ears. Yet while they call the tune, we pay the piper.

Yet while many of us rooted against Schilling and his teams, very few of us ever questioned his skills or tenacity; see Schilling’s 2004 ‘bloody sock’ incident for reference. If we’re being honest, most of us would have loved to have him pitching for our team.
During his career, Schilling was famous as a ballplayer and nothing else. If he ever weighed in on political

Meghan Markle may not be royalty in the US, but she acted like “a princess” while dining at hip eatery Locanda Verde with Prince Harry Monday night, a spy said.
“[She] asked the people at Locanda Verde to have the entire inner outdoor courtyard – which seats 50 – for herself and four people, including Prince Harry,” a source told Page Six.
“The owners told her it had been reserved for a birthday party for 15 people and refused to bounce the party out of the space

The Associated Press is reporting that there’s a winner in the Maryland Republican gubernatorial primary, to fill the seat of GOP Governor Larry Hogan, who is term-limited.
AP:
Dan Cox, a far-right state legislator endorsed by former President Donald Trump, won the Republican primary for Maryland governor on Tuesday, defeating a moderate rival backed by outgoing Gov. Larry Hogan.
Cox will face the winner of the Democratic primary in the November general election. The top Democratic candidates include former U.S. Labor Secretary and Democratic Party chair Tom Perez, bestselling author Wes Moore and state Comptroller Peter Franchot.

Monday, during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Assistant Health Secretary Rachel Levine, the first high-ranking openly transgender official confirmed by the U.S. Senate, argued for health policy to support “trans youth” given what she deemed to be vulnerabilities to their mental health.
Part of the recommendation was for “gender-affirmation treatment” in states where state legislatures had blocked it.

Yesterday, most mainstream media outlets reported that a number of Democrat representatives — including "Squad“ members, were arrested outside the Supreme Court following protests against the Court's recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., a.k.a. AOC, was among those arrested for blocking traffic. Reps. Barbara Lee of California, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Cori Bush of Missouri, Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, Nydia Velazquez of New York, Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania, and Andy Levin of Michigan were among the other legislators arrested.
The Capitol Police said they had arrested 35 people, including 17 members of Congress, for "crowding, obstructing or incommoding."

On July 6, in an act of vandalism for which the culprits are still at large, one of the four “Georgia Guidestones” was blown apart. The damage was so severe that the entire monument was rendered too unstable to leave standing. For safety reasons, state officials almost immediately demolished the rest of the monument.
While the Georgia Guidestones are not as well known as, say, Stonehenge, among critics of globalism they had acquired a certain infamy because of the inscriptions on the stones. Carved into four massive blocks of granite, and rendered in eight languages, this is what was on the stones:

CHARLESTON, South Carolina -- Inside the Allegiance Flag Company's facilities, it is hard not to notice that the employees making the flags reflect the beauty and diversity that has always been the promise and purpose of our country. They use their skills to make American flags in America, perfectly encapsulating the three young owners' mission in starting this company.
In short, they set out to make a flag where every stitch, hem and thread would be made in the United States. And they've done it.
Owners Katie and Wes Lyon and their childhood friend Max Berry said it was an idea that came from lots of late-night conversations.

White House Steward Joe Biden's Middle Eastern tour is blessedly over. It was an embarrassment. You can see why his team didn't want to tack this trip onto his last outing to Ukraine a few months ago. He would've probably collapsed from exhaustion. Biden is old, and the liberal media is finally noticing. I don't know what took them so long; The New York Times has been especially brutal on this front. He begged for more oil in Saudi Arabia. He reportedly didn't even bring up the death of Jamal Khashoggi, though he said he did. I still think he forgot. Yet, let's circle back to his trip with Palestinians.

We've been saying for months now that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is not likely to retain her seat when facing Harriet Hageman, a primary challenger backed by former President Donald Trump. What polls there have been indicate as much, as does CNN's Harry Enten. On Friday, what looks to be the most comprehensive poll yet was released, and it shows Cheney going down.
The poll comes from the Casper-Star Tribune and was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy. Hageman has 52 percent support, while Rep. Cheney has 30 percent. No other candidate has more than 5 percent. Just 11 percent are undecided.

We have had a tremendous victory here in New York: a Supreme Court Judge has struck down Governor Kathy Hochul’s forced quarantine regulation! On July 8, 2022, Judge Ronald Ploetz ruled that the “Isolation and Quarantine Procedures” regulation is unconstitutional and “violative of New York State law as promulgated and enacted, and therefore null, void and unenforceable as a matter of law.”
Shockingly, New York’s Governor, Kathy Hochul, and Attorney General, Letitia James, plan to appeal the decision. Yes, that’s right…the Governor and AG, both unabashedly support quarantine camps! One would think that this fact, in and of itself, would be disturbing enough

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Beat,” Senate Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) responded to Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) inflation concerns on climate legislation by stating that climate is “an emergency” that “We have to do everything that we can” about, and this is “more important than any current economic statistics” like inflation.
Host Ari Melber asked, “Is the global macro inflation a reason not to do something on climate right now? How do you work with your colleague there when sometimes his reasons don’t really match what’s happening?”
