Donald Trump watched his supporters storm the US Capitol on television while his senior staff begged him to call the rioters off, the January 6 committee has claimed.
Democratic congresswoman and committee member Elaine Luria introduced a prime-time hearing on Thursday by saying the committee would present evidence to show Mr Trump failed to act while the attack unfolded.
“This hearing is principally about what happened inside of the White House that afternoon, from the time when President Trump ended his speech until the moment when he finally told the mob to go home. A span of 187 minutes, more than three hours,” she said.

The New York Times opinion section actually published a shocking project where eight of their columnists admitted they were wrong about either economics, tech, foreign affairs or politics. At the top of the list was none other than “transitory” inflation gaslighter Paul Krugman.
The Times’s economic columnist published an op-ed with a headline that didn’t beat around the bush – for a change – and acknowledged how bad his unrealistic takes on the inflation crisis were for the past year. “I Was Wrong About Inflation,” says the headline. The disgruntled economist actually conceded that Biden’s irresponsible $1.9 trillion stimulus package was inflationary, despite his earlier objections to the contrary.

President Joe Biden broke CDC guidelines on Thursday by refusing to wear a mask around others while infected with the coronavirus.
The CDC website states, “It is important to wear a mask or respirator when you are sick or caring for someone who is sick with COVID-19.” Biden shared a photo and video of himself, seemingly alone, on social media. In order to capture those images, he had to be in close proximity to an individual holding a camera — and chose to go maskless: Biden had criticized former President Trump for not wearing a mask as president, calling him “falsely masculine.”

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will re-open on August 25 after being closed due to the pandemic. This is good news for young children who want a makeover in the dress-up salon to transform into a princess or a knight. There is a catch, though. Disney has not learned the lesson yet that not all of its customers wish to live in a world of gender neutrality in every aspect of their lives, especially in the lives of their young and impressionable children.
Fairy Godmothers in Training provide little girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 12 with makeovers that allow them

As I’ve pointed out a couple of times recently, China’s zero Covid lockdowns continue to impact hundreds of millions of people throughout the country, even though it’s having a negative impact on the country’s economy. But there’s some indication that the impact could be much worse over the long term than it is in the short term. In May the South China Morning Post reported on the uptick in professionals looking to leave China.
Emigration consultants in China have seen a rise in enquiries in recent months, with a noticeable spike since the end of March when outbreaks of the Omicron variant emerged in Shanghai…

New comic book publisher Rippaverse is bringing non-woke audiences the superhero entertainment they have craved in the cancel culture age, inviting a new fleet of heroes to the entertainment realm without the "woke" makeovers recently witnessed from Marvel and DC Comics.
Rippaverse founder Eric July and comic book artist Gabe Abdul Eltaeb joined "Fox & Friends" Thursday, offering insight into their mission and how their first issue, ISOM #1, brought in more than $2 million in presales.

Members of then-Vice President Mike Pence's security detail were calling their loved ones to "say goodbye" as violence escalated at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, a former White House security official told the January 6 committee in testimony played on Thursday evening.
"The members of the VP detail at this time were starting to fear for their own lives. There was a lot of yelling, a lot of very personal calls over the radio, so it was disturbing. I don't like talking about it," the official, who was unnamed for security purposes, told the committee.
"But there were calls to say goodbye to family members, so on and so forth,"

Washington - The Supreme Court on Thursday declined a request from the Biden administration to prioritize certain immigrants for deportation but said it would hear arguments in the dispute later this year. It's the first big emergency case of the summer and the first for Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
What did Biden want?: Biden's Department of Homeland Security wanted to prioritize for deportation immigrants it believes pose a threat to national security or public safety. Other immigrants would have been less of a priority. The administration asked the court to allow it to continue the policy temporarily.
Who sued and why?: Texas and Louisiana

San Francisco, one of California’s most progressive cities, has has fenced-off a plaza within its Mission district due to blackmarket activity and rampant open-air drug use.
The lawlessness has greatly disturbed the neighborhood, San Francisco District 9 Supervisor Hillary Ronen shared on Twitter Wednesday, forcing her to close off access to the problematic area until the situation is resolved.
“While it is never my desire to close public space the situation at 24th & Mission BART plaza has become untenable & is causing problems for the whole neighborhood. It infuriates me to see a once beautiful & vibrant

As RedState reported, Democrat Rep. Vincente Gonzalez was caught paying a blogger to write racist posts attacking Rep. Mayra Flores, who recently won TX-6 in a special election. That district had previously been held by Democrats for over 100 years, marking a ground-shaking shift among the area’s electorate. Flores’ unexpected success has made all the right people mad, and Gonzalez’s desperate attempt to trash her from underneath the table quickly backfired. He issued a hurried “apology” in front of the Capitol Building on Wednesday, admitting to what he had done while weaseling out of accepting responsibility.
Later in the day, Gonzalez decided to double down, though.

Joe Biden just dropped the biggest bombshell in presidential history. Either that or he dropped the biggest gaffe. It’s probably the latter, as we’ll discuss, but I’m not sure that makes things any better. While speaking in Massachusetts on Wednesday, the president claimed to have “cancer,” citing supposed oil slicks on the windows of cars. Apparently, being exposed to oil residue as a child gives you cancer later in life? I don’t know. None of what he says in the following clip makes sense, and it’s best to just take it for what it is. I mean, come on, what is he talking about?

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made an appearance on CNBC Wednesday morning and whined about Americans not wanting to give up their gas fueled vehicles for electric alternatives. Worse, when asked about the dire consequences of the Biden administration's war on oil and gas, Buttigieg justified the potential for deaths as simply part of the transition to alternative energy. Meanwhile, electric vehicle owners are being warned not to charge their batteries during certain hours for fear of blackouts. "Tesla is asking its customers in Texas to avoid charging their electric vehicles during peak times in order to prevent overtaxing the state’s power grid.
