A Science Lesson for Justice Sotomayor

Does Justice Sonia Sotomayor even read the briefs in cases before the Supreme Court?
I ask because the cases don't come any bigger than Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which addresses Mississippi's limit on abortion after 15 weeks. The Court is being asked to overturn the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade and 1992 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. I joined two other female physicians (a neonatologist and an obstetrician) in an amicus brief detailing advances in fetal science that have happened since 1973.
During oral arguments, Justice Sotomayor displayed abysmal ignorance of the most basic scientific and medical facts about developing human life.

The Wide Latina has spoken! So let it be rotten; so let it be dung. And if she's so smart, why didn't she call herself a Latinx back then?

Sotomayor may or may not have read the amicus briefs. She may or may not be familiar with the science that indicates life far earlier than 24 or 25 weeks. She may or may not be familiar with how brain dead people respond to pain stimuli. Her familiarity with such things does not matter to her. She has her own story and she is sticking to it no matter what because it supports her views on abortion.
And yet the Left accuses conservatives of not being open-minded! How much more close-minded can one be, Justice Sotomayor?!

She would only need to read a brief if she had an intention to keep an open mind.
I am certain that the Wide Latina has a very closed mind on this topic....perhaps most topics, but certainly on this one.
She knew how she would vote before the case even STARTED in the lower courts. Facts are irrelevant to hard core ideologues. Their ideas are set, and they do NOT judge things according to the Constitution, but according to their preconceived political views.

There are old video’s of Petri dishes that show at the moment a fertilized human egg breaks into two cells that a heart beat is detected. I saw it Many people have seen this video. It shows the moment of conception. Heart beat. Cells start breaking and multiplying. Have to have life to grow.
I bet those videos are being kept under lock and key

Ignorance is assumed for most Democrats wielding power in America today. And it is demonstrated daily. Feelings, and following the Party line are par for the course for IQ-light Sonia. Because she follows "her own truth," much like the "cackler."

From someone who has never experienced pregnancy and the feeling of life, fetal hiccups or fetal response to music. It's an amazing time for both the fetus and the mother.

Let us face it, if we haven't faced it before: Sotomeyer is the token Latino woman on the Court and never did have the resume' (or the brains) to deserve to be there. We are stuck with her, and she is dumb enough to believe what she is spouting. Embarrassing and dangerous.

Her statement prior to the beginning of arguments said it all. I thought jurists weren't supposed to indicate which way they were leaning prior to hearing argument. She was blatantly against the changing of Roe in any way. So much for blind justice. Her only arguments were the same pro-abortion talking points, over and over. Not only doesn't she learn, she doesn't think others learn.

Sotomayor is one card short in this deck...she's not even considering the advancements made in fetal science since 1973...all in an attempt to keep the swamp happy...even Ruth Ginsburg...the patron saint of lefties had reservations about the start of life...and when did a little baby feel the pain of abortions and when did their heart start beating...and...she's a Latina?... did she get permission from the Pope to kill babies...I think not!!

No Litmus test here.
If we have learned nothing at all over the last 40 years it must be drummed into everyone's heads by now that affirmative action was and still is a stupid idea with vast on-going bad consequences!
This self-described "wise Latina" is just the latest example of a lo-o-ng list of AA beneficiaries too deep to mention but it started with the likes of Thurgood Marshall, John Lewis, David Dinkens and goes right up to Lightfoot, Eric Adams and Obama. Along the way you can toss in Oprah, Joy Reid, Whoopie, Charlie Rangel and that whole ilk.
Sonia shows her mind is made up and no arguments will prevail ... despite facts! She is where she is simply because she is of Puerto Rican descent.
Question for the judge: If being dead is measured by the lack of a heart-beat then why doesn't life start when the heart begins to beat?

The fetus scratches an itch for god's sake. To deny it is fully human is either insane or evil. I say either or because IMO true evil requires rationality

I'm thinking that the justices are fully aware that a fetus scratches an itch, that it gets the hiccups, that it responds to music, feels pain, and all the similar indicia of life. The question before the justices in this case is, does the fetus feel these things as early as 15 weeks? The other question (I hope sincerely) before the justices is, were the Roe and Casey cases decided wrongly or for an outdated era (given the advances in medical care for prematurely born infants)? And if those cases have outlasted their expiration dates, should the whole matter of abortion be declared a non-federal issue and returned to the states to individually craft their own laws against abortion? If so, it's true that some blue states may allow abortion at almost any time before birth while various red states may allow abortion only under limited circumstances (e.g., rape, incest, manifest need to preserve the life of the mother, etc.), and still other states may outlaw abortion under any circumstances and at any stage of development, right down to outlawing the morning after pill.
Those are the issues before the Court, as it appears to me. The arguments of fetal pain, response, heartbeats, and all the rest beyond say, 15 weeks are irrelevant in this case at this time. It would be splendid, in my opinion, if the abortion issue were cast back to the state legislatures to permit elected representatives to decide how restrictive their states' laws should be, based on the beliefs and opinions of their citizens and voters. While some pro-lifers would prefer an outright banning of all abortions throughout the entire country, I don't see that as a possibility for this Supreme Court at this time.
