'If he wanted to run, that's OK with me. I think we'd win by a lot.'
Former President Donald Trump continues to say Gov. Ron DeSantis won’t run against him in 2024 and can’t beat him if he does, while reminding voters DeSantis wouldn’t be Governor without Trump’s endorsement.
During an interview with South Florida radio host Brian Mudd, Trump offered his latest in a series of statements essentially claiming he made the Governor and DeSantis knows better than to run against him in 2024.
“I do think if I run, he won’t,” Trump said. “I know they try and create a friction. I don’t think it exists at all.

I’m not sure why Trump too often sees the need to denigrate other politicians. DeSantis won because he was the better choice for Florida. Trump didn’t make him governor. As time goes by the superb performance of DeSantis compels me to wonder whether he is the better choice in 2024.
DeSantis is a better communicator, follows through on policies more thoroughly and of course is much younger than Trump. He doesn’t have the charisma that defines Trump. I worry that the absolute hatred whipped up against Trump will defeat him at the polls. Yes, I know Trump was robbed in 2020 but that steal wouldn’t have been possible had Trump not been so demonized.

The next election has to be about Biden, not about Trump. It was all about Trump last time and it will be all about Trump next time, should he run.

I hope that they run together. That would give PDT 4 years to straighten out the country and then DeSantis could have 8 years to make sure that Trump’s policies stay in place.

I’m not sure Trump would beat him in the primaries. DeSantis is well liked thru out the country and Trump has a way of turning people off with his personal attacks . To me Trump is the one who lost the senate in the Ga election.
Ps I would vote for whoever wins the rep primary.

I would like to see DeSantis run and President Trump as the power behind the GOP. Kind of like a conservative Soros of the party. While President Trumps 'mean' tweets didn't bother me, considering the way the dems talked about him, I think DeSantis would be more appealing to voters.

People just writing this stuff because they get paid by the word...
What Trump/Repubs do in 2024 is still waaaaay up in the Air, and a loooong way away..
BUT..."Who are the Dems going to Run" is something that will have to be sorted out verrrrry soon.

DeSantis should sit it out if Trump decides to run. I would also recommend he not be Trump's VP. I would recommend Ric Grenell for that post. Eminently qualified and likely would not run in 2028. DeSantis would be best to do his two terms in FL and then use 2027/28 to run and it also gives his wife time to get fully well from her breast cancer and the kids get older in one place for now. Their lives will never be the same after DeSantis becomes President in 2028.

One thing I am sure of about 2024 is that Gov DeSantis should NOT be at the bottom of the 2024 ticket. He is ready for the presidency. No way should he be the VP for anyone.

#2: the '24 election won't be between an unknown and Biden. There will be a Democrat, but not Biden.

Wonder where all these anti-Trump folks came from today. DeSantis hasn't been vetted yet and by that we know about planeloads of lawyers being sent to Alaska to find trash on Palin, which they failed to do. DeSantis is a politician. Trump wasn't. If given the choice, I still want Trump. Then DeSantis can run.

We are going to see a lot of stories like this in the next year. They are calculated to divide us. Trump and DeSantis are on the same page and I don't see them running against each other.

How about a combined ticket of Trump/DeSantis. There, problem solved. Trump does his four years, then DeSantis does his eight years.

In a primary I would vote for DeSantis.
I don't want animosity between the two of them, but I believe DeSantis could serve with a lot less controversy and could get more done. Hopefully with some help from Democrats that are not owned by Pelosi and Schumer, if there are any.

Here is what we must face — DeSantis will endure just as bad a media/Deep State meat grinder if he is our GOP offering for POTUS. So if we think he will be smeared any less than they did Trump AND his family, we are greatly deceived.

The opposition knows, with inflation, immigration, lawlessness, Afghanistan, and all the other catastrophes playing out, that their only chance for victory is to charge up their base by making as much as possible about Trump. Just watch these articles increase. I supported President Trump because of his policies and actions but hope he stays out of the lime light.

I live in Florida. I think Ron DeSantis would be a great President. He doesn't mess around, he gets things done. He doesn't suffer fools! I think the plus for DeSantis to run would be he wouldn't use Twitter like Trump did, He wouldn't complain all the time when the Democrats go after him like Trump continues to do. DeSantis just goes about Business and brushes off the people trying to take him down. I don't care which One will run, I will vote for Either. But, I will say that Trump needs to quit talking about the stolen election and begin to talk about how he is going to turn this country around AGAIN! He did it once, he can do it again!. I think out of respect for his Mentor, DeSantis won't run if Trump does. I do think DeSantis should then be the VP so he is ready to step into the Presidency after Four Years!

Trump did nor secure Ron D;s election, but his endorsement certainly clinched his nomination.
I don't think DeSantis will run in 2024 even if Trump chooses not to. He is young, has plenty of time and we need him here in FL
Governor Ron would be wasted in the vice presidency, and his political destiny would then be inextricably tied to Trump's. Bad idea - we have no clue how a second Trump administration would fare.
Governor Ron has three very young children and a seriously ill wife. Family first.
I am not sure that Trump could win in 2024 against whatever new face the Dems come up with, or the condition of the country. The leftist deep state slime machine would go all-out to destroy him once again, and unfortunately their tactics often work.

I'll go with DeSantis. He's Trump without all the media and irrational hate. DeSantis with a republican house and senate can make a lot of progress in the right direction.

Trump is too polarizing. His fourth year in office was a disaster. He was rolled by Fauci. Cities burned and stores were looted. People died and Antifa ran rampant without consequence. Riots, Black Lives Matter and autonomous zones quickly took over in our cities. Schools and churches were closed while distancing and masks were mandated. Vaccines were too rapidly developed and many today are living with devastating side effects. Some died.
Ron DeSantis had the fortitude to make the hard calls. Florida is better off than any other state in the country and with a populace that is the most vulnerable. Children in school and businesses flourishing.
This is not a difficult choice.

As a SW Floridian, I would be delighted and relieved to keep Gov. DeSantis here for another 4 years. We barely squeaked by that pervy on-the-down-low drug addict Gillum the last time, and ol Squishy Pants has been flooding our state with invaders who are immediately put on our voter rolls.

Four years of Trump/DeSantis and then eight more of Desantis/Don Jr. will do the trick.

Not buying all this anti-Trump all of a sudden. And the ugly traits in Trump is exactly why he should be re-elected. If you want a smooth as silk, well spoken politician who kisses up to the media, there are hundreds of them already in Washington. And where have they gotten us?

I pretty much agree with #1. One thing that really bothers me is the age factor. Even Democrats are now saying Biden is too old. Trump looks and acts so much younger, but, age wise, he’s not that far behind Biden. The media will be even more vicious this time and too many might fall for it. We HAVE to take the White House this time.

I'll admit right now, that if there is a primary and its between Trump and DeSantis, I'm voting for DeSantis.
I love Trump, I loved his policies and I love that he got things done. But lord.......it was an exhausting 4 years. And....is it in our best interest to elevate Trump to lame duck status, assuming that he wins. He can only serve 1 term.
DeSantis is Trump but with better communication skills and none of the baggage.

I think Trump is right. DeSantis will sit tight if Trump throws his hat in the ring. DeSantis has plenty of time ahead of him.
