A political newcomer backed by Donald Trump won a crowded Republican primary contest in an Ohio House special election Tuesday night, showing the former president's influence on his party. Coal lobbyist Mike Carey, who never held political office before, beat out 11 other Republicans for the nomination in Ohio's 15th Congressional district, to replace former Rep. Steve Stivers. Many of his competitors also had the backing of big-name Republicans. The Associated Press called the race for Carey, who will compete against Democrat Allison Russo in the November general election. Carey is favored to win the GOP-leaning district.

A day after Gerrit Cole tested positive for the virus, Jordan Montgomery also tested positive, manager Aaron Boone revealed Tuesday before the Yankees hosted the Orioles in The Bronx. Well, it’s official. After previously snapping at reporters for asking him, Joe Biden took questions this afternoon and proclaimed that Gov. Andrew Cuomo needs to resign. This came after New York AG Letitia James released the findings of an investigation showing that Cuomo had sexually harassed at least eleven women, including committing what sounds like sexual assault in one instance.Biden had originally passed on calling on Cuomo to resign, instead, saying he would wait for the investigation to complete. Now that it’s over and the results are what they are, Biden huddled with his handlers and decided it was best to stick by his prior comments.

Back in 1943, the British novelist Graham Greene published “The Ministry of Fear,” a thriller set in World War II London involving mercy killings, exploding suitcases, seances, Luftwaffe air raids, outright murder, insane asylums and undercover Nazi spies. It was successfully made into a movie the following year starring Ray Milland as the troubled protagonist, and directed by Fritz Lang, himself a refugee from Hitler. Being unblessed by fatherhood (thus far), I have little idea of what boys today are watching on TV, the few not playing video games anyway. But in perusing the 2021 primetime network schedule, I found nothing I would want to watch were I under sixteen. The only constant I could see is the dearth of male heroes, which suggests two possibilities. Hollywoke television executives either have no interest in having young males view their product, or they wish to “detoxify” those who do. Perhaps both conclusions are correct, and equally damning of our time.

Well, yes. Even to a layman, that was clear. The problem with the Provincetown study and later the studies from Wisconsin and Singapore is that the samples were self-selecting. Instead of taking a random sample of the vaccinated population and assessing who was infected, who was symptomatic, and who had a high viral load capable of infecting others, they looked at vaccinated people who sought testing on their own initiative. (Or, in the Singapore case, actually needed hospital care.) Vaxxed people who feel the need to get tested are likely to do so because they have symptoms, but people with symptoms may have higher viral loads

It’s no secret the left-wing media abruptly lose interest in covering presidential gaffes when Democrats take the White House. Well, they’re doing it again: over the past few months liberal cable and broadcast news networks have utterly ignored a slew of mistakes and fumbles by President Biden. (Video) At the G-7 Summit in June, Biden mistakenly referred to Syria as Libya three separate times during a speech. Aides later confirmed that he had, in fact, meant Syria. That same month, the President wrongly conflated the Tuskegee Airmen — a predominantly black contingent of World War II fighter pilots — with victims of the notorious Tuskegee syphilis experiment.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo maintained Tuesday that he “never touched anyone inappropriately,” pushing back on a bombshell official report that concluded he sexually harassed several women in violation of state and federal law — while suggesting that he was the victim of a smear campaign.Speaking on video without reporters to ask questions, the governor was adamant in his denial, as he has been since the scandal erupted.“I want you to know directly from me that I never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances,” he told New Yorkers.

Perverted, creepy, sick, narcissistic, ego-maniacal New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is laughing hysterically right now as the dual-justice system of New York politics is on full display. Infuriating does not scratch the surface.New York State Attorney General Letitia James specifically said at the beginning of her remarks releasing the investigative findings of a 5 month investigation: “The independent investigation has concluded, and Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law.”
Moments later one of the investigators, the former federal prosecutor from Manhattan, Joon Kim, said: “We find that the governor, on numerous occasions, engaged in conduct that constitutes unlawful sex based harassment,”

After the CDC could not find legal grounds to extend a moratorium on evictions that began early in the coronavirus pandemic, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., is pushing the CDC to do it anyway. President Biden announced Thursday that he was not going to try to extend the moratorium, calling on Congress to take action instead. Waters, who unsuccessfully tried to pass a bill, expressed skepticism that the CDC could not extend the moratorium as they had done in the past. "I don't buy that the CDC can't extend the eviction moratorium - something it has already done in the past!" Waters tweeted. "Who is going to stop them?

The American Medical Association (AMA), the largest organization of physicians and medical students in the United States, came under fire over the weekend for a recent proposal calling to end the designation of sex on birth certificates.
The proposal (pdf), which was adopted by the AMA’s Board of Trustees in June, states that recording the baby’s sex on the public portion of birth certificates, as has always been the case, has “potential for discrimination.”
“Our American Medical Association will advocate for the removal of sex as a legal designation on the public portion of the birth certificate,”

Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson told a group of constituents he believes the FBI had advanced knowledge of the Jan. 6th riot but failed to act–even as he ripped a select committee probing the events as a 'total sham.' During his remarks, he repeatedly downplayed the actions of the mob that took part in the Capitol riot, saying there were 'a couple hundred really bad actors' among thousands he defended. 'By and large those folks were peaceful protesters,' said Johnson, days after four police officers testified about battling crowd members outside the Capitol. He said most 'wouldn't even consider breaking the law.'

New York governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, among them current and former state employees, in violation of federal and state law, state attorney general Letitia James announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
The announcement represents the conclusions of a months-long probe by the attorney general’s office into sexual harassment allegations made against the governor. Several women have alleged that the governor inappropriately touched them, although Cuomo has denied wrongdoing.

CNN might be a horribly biased and woefully unreliable news organization these days, but its reporters do know how to convey the White House propaganda well. Case in point is the story posted on CNN’s website over the weekend about how the Biden administration is desperately trying to get the news media to stop playing up the risk of the Delta variant.
“The White House is frustrated with what it views as alarmist, and in some instances flat-out misleading, news coverage about the Delta variant,” reported Oliver Darcy over the weekend.

They lost and it’s glorious.
There are some members of the team you feel sorry for, the few who don’t kneel during the national anthem, but not many. The rest of them? Meh.

Historically, Democrats and Republicans were merely opposition parties. They had a few shared objectives — prosperity, liberty, and national security. However, they had very different ideas about how to achieve those objectives. It was a political environment well suited to debate and compromise. Then the election of 2000 happened, and something changed. George W. Bush won the presidential election by a mere 537 votes. Losing in such a narrow fashion was too much for the Democrats to cope with. In their rage, they went insane. The Democrat party has always had radical elements.

Peggy Noonan’s column in the Wall Street Journal on Saturday is a very clear exposé of the profound political division in America today. Her position is that Donald Trump is a deadly combination of crazy, dishonest, and incompetent, that there can be no possible question that he was and is unsuited to be president, and that he was unquestionably honestly defeated in the presidential election. More, he deliberately incited a violent assault upon the U.S. Capitol on January 6, his party is afraid of him even though his support is thin and diminishing, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s investigation into the events of January 6 must be pursued with energy

Mexico has barred the United States from sending migrant families back across the border, using emergency measures put in place at the start of the pandemic, the Washington Examiner has learned, a development that threatens to exacerbate the border crisis.
The decision to prohibit a great number of non-Mexican migrant families from returning to Mexico is expected to force Border Patrol to release more people into the U.S. because it lacks space at existing facilities to hold the thousands coming into custody daily.
