NEW YORK — For most nights at the Tokyo Olympics, NBC’s prime time coverage is drawing about half the audience that the Games had in Rio de Janeiro five years ago. The numbers are sobering: Sunday’s NBC audience of 13 million was down 51% from the 26.7 million who watched the corresponding night in Rio. Saturday night was down 57%, last Wednesday down 53% and Tuesday down 58%, the Nielsen company said. NBC’s best night last week, when it reached 16.2 million on Thursday, was still down 43% from Rio, Nielsen said. “We’ve had some bad luck,” NBC Universal chief

Comments:

Most events are already over by the time they are broadcast on TV. Too many ''look at me'' athletes. It's hard to figure out when specific events are shown. I hate when they keep saying ''coming up soon''. We turn the TV off.

Between the US women's soccer team and that horrible hammer throwing hag -- who all hate this country -- and the racist thugs on the US men's basketball team (who complained because a single white guy was included on the team), I had absolutely no interest in watching these woke-Olympics. Toss in Simone Biles quitting on her team because of her "feelings", and I really have no interest. I know there are mostly good athletes that love the USA representing us in most sports. I saw that one women's wrestler who was crying when she spoke on how much she loves the USA. That touched me. But it just takes a little "woke-ness" to destroy the whole thing!!!

Where are the viewers, well they are Un woke Patriots who do not go along with politicized Olympic athletes who have not put all their energy into their sport. Today there are a lot more attractions to keep peoples attention then just a bunch or athletics who have no interest in representing America.

It is NBCs Nightly propaganda with Lester Holt that help create the anti American attitude these athletes carry with them. They do not represent America they resent America.

Stop selling the anti-American haters as the leading story, and folks might be interested. NOBODY wants to watch pukes like the anti-American lesbian kickball team, or the nasty black haters in the other events. The more that they push this anti-American minority's mouthy hate, the fewer viewers they will have.

For decades the USA-Soviet rivalry was the thing. The USA was the "good guys" and the Soviets/East Bloc the heels of these extravaganzas. When the USA won it was validation for free peoples everywhere. The games were largely recognizable to casual fans. No skateboarding or 3-on-3 basketball. Then the Soviets stopped playing. The West was rooting for Yeltsin and democracy. They were no longer the heels. Like much, the old, known villains are nowhere to be seen. The US and China haven't developed a rivalry because their best prepared don't see each other very often with a gold medal at stake. Americans live their gym pixies as much as our own. And now American popular culture is about inclusion. Pop the top on a Coke and sing with the world.
