It is remarkable to see how quickly the unified opinion against former President Trump and for the alleged necessity of removing him from the White House has cracked apart since that goal was achieved. Following the inauguration, there were endless purposeful assurances that the former president would be pursued to the ends of the earth for his iniquity. (Snip)
Every informed person in the world knows that the events of January 6 were the result of a loose sequence of facts that were only allowed to aggregate into the assault on the Capitol because of the malice or incompetence of Trump’s enemies.

As our Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar reported,
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has been the subject of an inquiry by the US Department of Justice into whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and paid for her to travel with him. Three people who had been briefed on the matter told the New York Times that investigators are examining whether Gaetz violated federal sex trafficking laws, the people said.
Thanks to the New York Times spilling the tea, it looks like Gaetz-Gate is underway. Expect the miniscule Biden Border coverage to drop underneath the Rio Grande. I am no fan of Matt Gaetz,

The New York Times is running with a story that claims “the Justice Department is said to be” “inquiring” into an “unclear” report that it’s “possible” Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz was involved with a 17-year-old girl two years ago.
Having sex with a minor is serious business and should be punished.
No charges have been brought against the congressman. In fact, it’s “unclear,” to use the NYT’s word, whether it even rises to an “investigation.”
Forgive us if we’re a bit skeptical of the same news outfits that “reported” planned leaks that Trump was a Russian secret agent who hired hookers

Actress Gina Carano lost her job with Disney’s The Mandalorian for warning against the Nazi-like dehumanization of others and the awful places that can lead.
Former Democrat Sen. Heidi Heitkamp recently smeared Carano as both a “Nazi” and as someone who hangs around “white supremacists” during a segment on Bill Maher’s Real Time show.
Carano noticed, and called Heitkamp out on Twitter. Democrats have been getting away with such smears for years now, decades. They called all Republican presidents in my lifetime either Nazis or racists or some variation on that theme, including Ronald Reagan and both Bushes. While dishonest and despicable, those insults targeted political figures.

Hours after the New York Times broke a story on the Justice Department investigating sex trafficking allegations against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fl.), Gaetz appeared on Fox News’ Tucker to refute the claims.
Asked about the story by Tucker Carlos, Gaetz says “It is a horrible allegation, and it is a lie.”
Gaetz reiterated claims made on Twitter and elsewhere that the allegations stem from a former Justice Department official who was attempting to blackmail him. That official, who Gaetz named as “David McGee,” contacted Gaetz’s father, according to the Republican House member.
Gaetz says his family went to the local FBI in Florida, who then asked his father to wear a wire

A curious news blip rolled across Twitter today, from YouTube. Why would YouTube do this? The current system replaced YouTube’s old 5-star rating system some years ago — in 2009. That’s when the thumbs up/thumbs down system came into being. Fictional Big Bang Theory character Sheldon Cooper confessed that the change stressed him out, but most humans didn’t care much one way or the other. YouTube’s thumbs up/down system has been in place for about a dozen years. People use these ratings to decide whether to watch or skip a video probably millions of times a day. It’s especially helpful for instructional videos and product ratings

However, CDC director Rochelle Walensky offered it as a conclusion last night in an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, noting that this has been confirmed by “real-world data” as well as in clinical trials. However, Walensky’s overall message was aimed not at promoting a return to normalcy but in extending the restrictions in the US — at least for a little while (via Breitbart and Allahpundit): “I’m so impressed with our ability to vaccinate at a clip of 3 million vaccinations a day

A Supreme Court case being argued this week amid March Madness could erode the difference between elite college athletes and professional sports stars.
If the former college athletes who brought the case win, colleges could end up competing for talented student athletes by offering over-the-top education benefits worth tens of thousands of dollars. And that could change the nature of college sports.
At least that’s the fear of the NCAA. But the former athletes who sued say most college athletes will never play professional sports and that the NCAA’s rules capping education benefits deprive them of the ability to be rewarded for their athletic talents and hard work.

Americans outraged by the storming of Capitol Hill are in for a jarring reality check: Many of those who invaded the halls of Congress on Jan. 6 are likely to get little or no jail time.
While public and media attention in recent weeks has been focused on high-profile conspiracy cases against right-wing, paramilitary groups like the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys, the most urgent decisions for prosecutors involve resolving scores of lower-level cases that have clogged D.C.’s federal district court.
A POLITICO analysis of the Capitol riot-related cases shows that almost a quarter of the more than 230 defendants formally and publicly charged so far face only misdemeanors

Forty years is a lifetime ago, but I still can recall this like it was just last week.
Ronald Reagan was a transformational president in so many ways it is hard to recall actually in one sitting or post all that his administration accomplished. Volumes of books have been written about him and I have read most of them. The Gipper is the one President I wished I could have voted for (I turned 18 in 1988 when he was termed out) but he was my guy. He was America, and represented this country incredibly well and I hated to see him leave the White House.
We almost lost him, though.

The Washington Post has awarded Joe Biden four Pinocchios (the max) for a patently false claim he made about the new Georgia law on voting. Biden said the following during a press conference:
What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick … deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off work.
Two days later, e followed up with this official statement:
Among the outrageous parts of this new state law, it ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over.
But the Georgia law does no such thing.

Now that King Kong is back in action in a new blockbuster, the super-hyped Godzilla vs Kong, with a mammoth budget matching the scale of the two protagonists (some $160 to $200 million), patriots should note who the real hero of the Kong saga is.
It’s not the fictional monster pitted against the rapacious, prehistoric reptile. No, it’s the man who created Kong: aviator, explorer, and film producer Merian C. Cooper.
Cooper (1893-1973) was a bomber pilot in the First World War. He invented a unique artillery-spotting technique—flying close to ground level to draw enemy fire. Shot down in flames behind enemy lines, he greeted the armistice in a prison hospital.

Rep. Jack Kemp used to say that minority voters "don't care what you know until they know that you care." Democrats have cleaned up with Black and Hispanic voters (although a little less so with each passing election) by professing how much they care.
Ah, but it is also a truism that actions speak louder than words. Black voters made significantly more economic progress in former President Donald Trump's one term, despite his label as a "racist," than in eight years under former President Barack Obama. The Black poverty rate fell to its lowest level EVER under Trump, whereas little progress was made in Obama's two terms. Ditto for Hispanics.

The late Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin used to tell a story of imprisonment, based perhaps on his own. He said that once behind bars, the prisoner thinks of nothing but freedom, of escaping. Because of this, cruelly sophisticated jailers introduce water into the cell. Now, the enslaved puts freedom off for the moment, seeking first to get rid of the water. From there, the jailers add cockroaches to the poor soul’s misery. Liberty is back-burnered.

The “Sustainable Transportation Act” would require Minnesota to adopt a goal of reducing vehicle miles traveled by “at least 20% by 2050.” Rep. Frank Hornstein, DFL- Minneapolis, said a reduction in vehicle miles traveled, or VMT, is needed “if we are going to make headway in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector.” “Transportation is now the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions and we’ve had the least amount of reduction in the transportation sector,” Hornstein said during a Thursday hearing on his bill.

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police want to identify the man who punched and kicked an Asian woman on her way to church.
The incident was reported Monday in front of 360 West 43rd Street just before noon. Authorities say the 65-year-old victim was punched and kicked until she fell to the ground as the suspect made anti-Asian statements toward her. The victim was taken to the hospital with swelling to the face and pain in the left leg after suffering several blows to the head. She is said to be stable. The Asian Hate Crime Task force said the security guard captured on video failed to render aid.

A recurrent theme in Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States (1980) is how the prospect of a coalition between poor blacks and poor whites has often struck fear in the hearts of the wealthy classes in American history. Not surprisingly, Zinn longed for the emergence of an interracial coalition that, in his view, would bring about a more humane and just America for all. As a traditional Marxist, he equated injustice with class oppression and justice with socialism.

The coin trading world has a new gold standard, after the only known 1822 half eagle $5 piece in private hands sold at auction in Las Vegas for US$8.4 million ($10.9m).
Douglas Mudd, curator and director of the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado, confirmed the coin is one of three of its kind in existence and the auction price Thursday was the highest for a US gold coin struck by the US Mint.
The most expensive US coin ever sold, at US$10m ($13m), is a 1794 US “Flowing Hair” silver dollar said to be among the first-ever minted in the fledgling United States.

Sky News host James Morrow said during a recent broadcast that the world has become a “more dangerous place” under Democratic President Joe Biden, noting that America’s enemies have started to become more aggressive around the world while Biden is focusing on making the U.S. Military “woke.” “On Friday, Chinese forces committed their largest ever incursion into Taiwanese airspace, as worries grow by the day of a Chinese invasion of the Democratic island republic. Meanwhile, in the Middle East, Iran is on the march with its rebel militias, now attacking Saudi oil fields

If you’re bewildered by the breakneck pace of “change” since the inauguration of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., back on Jan. 20, you’re not alone.
Average Americans have been puzzled and, in many case, chagrined by the flurry of executive orders, ukases, policy prescriptions, social proscriptions, vengeful rollbacks, and other government meddling in the lives of our citizens. Conservatives, meanwhile, understand that all this activity has one overarching purpose: to punish the bad Orange Man and the country that voted for him. And make sure he never happens again.

Today, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference after signing a bill to protect businesses from liability related to COVID-19. DeSantis also said he would be taking executive action to prohibit vaccine passports in the state of Florida. He stated his position clearly:
"We are not supporting doing any vaccine passports in the state of Florida. No one was more aggressive about getting this out. If you look at all the different points throughout Florida, whether it’s a hospital, county health department, a retail pharmacy, a drive-through site, church sites, all this stuff, it’s important. But we’ve always said we want

The US Navy's training on 'extremism' says staff can advocate for Black Lives Matter (BLM) while at work but service members are not allowed to discuss 'politically partisan issues', training slides reveal.
The Navy described BLM as a 'public policy issue' in the slides and advocating for the organisation was allowed as long as the behavior is lawful.
But they stated that advocacy would be prohibited if it was 'politically partisan in nature'. In the 'scenarios for discussion' slides, obtained by Fox News, Navy personnel were asked if they think BLM is 'political stuff' that those in command are 'not supposed to be talking about at work'.

I’m having a problem deciding whether the Biden administration is stupid or evil or just flat-out afraid of us Commoners.
And then I realized that it’s all three. Here’s why.
Our liberal friends never imagined that a Trump could happen. Nothing in their world prepared them for him. So what happens when you are confronted by something completely unexpected? You stop dead in your tracks. (snip) Should Dems ignore Trump as a flash in the pan? Should they figure he represented a few dumb deplorables? Or should they treat him as an existential danger?
We know what happened. The Dems chose Door Number Three and embarked on a mission to destroy Trump

The current CDC Director is a hopelessly politicized figure, and she has shown herself to be completely subservient to whatever political message the Biden campaign is trying to push. You’ll probably recall that she famously said schools could re-open before completely reversing herself just a few weeks later. [Tweet] That flip-flop clearly came after administration officials pulled her aside and told her to get on message. A CDC director is supposed to simply tell the truth and follow the science. Walensky continually doesn’t do that because she’s a partisan hack.
Thus, you get unscientific idiocy like today’s freak-out session in which she broke down about the impending doom

If Pete Buttigieg thinks he has a political future after his latest gaffe as Joe Biden's transportation secretary, he's in for a surprise.
Four days ago, Mr. Smug weather-ballooned his plan to tax the working poor up the wazoo. According to CNBC:
A vehicle mileage tax could be on the table in talks about how to finance the White House’s expected multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure proposal, according to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Buttigieg, who spoke with CNBC’s Kayla Tausche on Friday, also contended that President Joe Biden’s forthcoming plans to rebuild the nation’s roads, bridges and waterways would lead to a net gain for the U.S. taxpayer and not a net outlay.

A man who drew a gun during Sunday’s dueling statehouse protests in Salem, Oregon, was not arrested after complying with police officers. The incident was captured in dramatic video, as Antifa protesters clashed with demonstrators taking part in a “Freedom Rally.” The white-haired man got out of his American flag-adorned pickup truck to look at the damage allegedly caused by Antifa protesters. That’s when he was attacked with pepper spray, by a mob that was surrounding him, police said.

The Biden administration painted a grim picture of the U.S.’s ongoing bout with COVID-19 on Monday as officials grow increasingly concerned with the nation’s current trajectory despite key silver linings in the push to vaccinate Americans. Over the last week, the U.S.’s daily case count has jumped to around 60,000, representing a 10 percent rise in the seven-day average. Coupled with rising hot spots in states such as New Jersey and Michigan, it prompted a new warning from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky that a fourth surge and “impending doom”

In an emotional tweet on Sunday, the actress and pop star accused Republicans of stripping the voting rights of black people and depriving them of “racial and economic equity.”
Cher wrote that Republican politicians are “infected” with a “deadly pandemic of their own making.” They are “evil, soulless, bigots” and “don’t care.”

President Joe Biden’s candidacy was built on the idea that he was an old, experienced, centrist in Washington, someone who could bring two sides together. So far, with his penchant for issuing “executive orders” to fundamentally change America, he’s governing precisely as a socialist dictator would. Is that what Americans voted for?
Never mind talk of Biden’s clear symptoms of age-related dementia as he stumbles, fumbles and mumbles his way through his presidential duties. Even at 78, Biden is still our nation’s chief executive and commander in chief. He has power, and he plans to use it.

The ratings hemorrhage by CNN and MSNBC is real and dramatic. Fox News also suffered a post-election drop because of its betrayal of the President, but has achieved some measure of stability. That said, Fox is way below where it was last August. Let me give you the numbers.First with Fox. August thru November 3 was the highwater mark for Fox News programs from 4pm on. Fox’s current numbers show a dramatic drop when you compare the numbers for March 25, 2021 with those for August 23, 2020. Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham have suffered the largest loss–

My colleague Brandon Morse reported earlier about some of the Antifa violence in Salem, Oregon, about an encounter that one driver had with some of them. The Antifa people attacked him, throwing rocks at his car and yellow paint. Then when he got out of the car to see the damage, they bashed parts of his car more and maced him. Bad move on their part because at that point he pulled out his gun to get them to back off. Then the anti-police radicals suddenly were all hot to have the police respond to protect them, which is so hypocritical and hilarious. When the police responded, they temporarily

Former President Donald Trump on Monday attacked Drs. Parents and male students were left 'mortified' after their school forced them to stand in assembly and apologise to their female classmates for sexual assaults committed by males.
Brauer College in the south-western Victorian town of Warrnambool held an assembly on Wednesday where boys were told to stand up in a symbolic gesture of apology to girls and women.
The move has since sparked outrage among parents of the school who say their children were made to feel ashamed about something they had no control over and didn't understand.
Brauer College student Craig Daniels told the Today show the assembly was 'wrong' and should 'never have happened'.

I very seriously doubt that Kamala Harris plays poker, as she has that annoyingly obvious “tell.”
I’ll call it her “Hackle.”
Our friends over at Legal Insurrection said as much when she was just a Vice Presidential candidate. Oh for those halcyon days!
Kamala Harris has a habit of launching into peals of laughter when she is asked questions, even serious ones. It’s likely a nervous tic, and it’s possible that she doesn’t even realize that she does it.
In the world of gambling, this is called a tell. An unconscious and often uncontrollable behavior that serves as a clue to others that a player is bluffing or lying.

U.S. Special Operations Command is investigating its new chief of diversity and inclusion over social media posts criticizing police and former President Donald Trump, officials confirmed Monday.
SOCOM welcomed Richard Torres-Estrada in a tweet Thursday.
"We look forward to his contribution in enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of #SOF through diversity of talent, helping us recruit the best of the best. #QuietProfessionals," SOCOM said in the tweet. But within days, critics were roasting Torres-Estrada for some of his public Facebook posts, particularly one last summer that implicitly compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler.
The well-circulated meme juxtaposes a doctored photo of Hitler
