Barnegat, N.J. — A wildfire exploding in size near the New Jersey shore caused officials to order thousands to evacuate and close a 17-mile stretch of the state’s busiest highway as dark smoke poured into the Jersey Shore region.
The Jones Road Wildfire sparked on Tuesday in the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area near Barnegat Township in Ocean County. As of Tuesday evening, it had consumed 3,200 acres and was only 5% contained.
Some 3,000 people were told to evacuate as the fire so far is threatening over 1,300 homes and structures, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
Evacuations stretch along portions of Highways 532, 539, 72 and 9

As RedState reported earlier, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) did an interview on "Meet the Press" Sunday, where he dropped facts on Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) on the issue of whether suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported to El Salvador in March, had been afforded due process.
"In my judgment, [Van Hollen] is utterly and gloriously wrong," Kennedy told host Kristen Welker. "I mean, most of this gauzy rhetoric is just rage bait. Unless you’re next-level obtuse, you know that Mr. Garcia is never coming back to the United States ever," he also remarked.

The State Department is slashing “decades of bloat and bureaucracy” with the termination of dozens of agency offices and more, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Tuesday.

These sweeping changes will empower our talented diplomats to put America and Americans first,” Rubio said, formally releasing a statement.“In its current form, the Department is bloated, bureaucratic, and unable to perform its essential diplomatic mission in this new era of essential diplomatic competition,” Rubio’s formal statement reads in part,

Tuesday, during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Chevron CEO Mike Wirth downplayed the possibility of a recession.
He did acknowledge, however, that growth was slowing.
“Does that mean you don’t think we’re headed into a recession in your plans at this point?” “Squawk Box” co-host Becky Quick asked.
Wirth replied, “You know, there’s no signs that we see at this point that we’re in or close to a recession. There are signs that growth may be slowing.

Oooh, wasn't I glad to see Ed's earlier piece on what Marco Rubio announced over at the State Department this morning. Ed said that the New York Times was in 'freakout mode' over the changes, between Rubio's basic announcement and Trump's EO.
...The attached statement doesn't describe the sweeping nature of the reforms Rubio plans to implement. Fortunately, the New York Times has entered freak-out mode over the executive order issued by Donald Trump outlining its scope and scale...

Warning: What I'm about to write may shock you, but I felt our readers needed to know exactly what kind of person Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, truly is. You might want to make sure you're sitting down for this.
Last week, the first daughter took a vacation and spent time with her husband and children and some of her husband's family. Not only did they take a vacation, but they took it in Costa Rica, and they actually enjoyed themselves. They surfed, read books, rode horses, explored the beautiful nature the country has to offer... they even swam next to a waterfall.

Today, the court, according to Newsweek, “ruled that immigrants who agree to leave the U.S. voluntarily are entitled to deadline flexibility when the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday.” Because obviously illegal aliens who should never have been here to begin with deserve all the consideration in the world when authorities are kicking them out in line with the law, federal orders, and the will of We the People.

Hamill plays King Herod in the new King of Kings movie, which revolves around the telling of the life of Christ through the words of Charles Dickens. The film is already doing phenomenally in theaters, and was on course to shatter records from its pre-sale tickets alone.

In another major shakeup within the Trump administration, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a sweeping reorganization of the State Department, aiming to cut over 700 positions and eliminate 132 of its 734 bureaus—a 15 percent reduction in personnel. This overhaul seeks to refocus the department on core national interests and regional diplomacy, moving away from promoting liberal ideologies. Rubio criticized certain offices for advancing left-wing agendas at taxpayer expense. The restructuring also hints at reducing or closing overseas missions and folding liberal values initiatives into regional bureaus.

On Monday, 88-year-old Pope Francis died, bringing an end to a papacy that, in many ways, conservatives regarded as little more than an apostasy and setting the stage for a papal enclave that could result in the election of a conservative favorite, 79-year-old Cardinal Robert Sarah from the west African nation of Guinea.

In fact, on Monday The Guardian profiled Sarah as one of nine possible candidates to succeed Francis.

The Trump administration has begun an aggressive shake-up at the State Department that will close 132 agency offices, including those launched to further human rights, advance democracy overseas, counter extremism, and prevent war crimes.
The plans to reorganize the leading foreign policy agency in the United States are outlined in internal documents obtained by The Free Press. The State Department is bringing its number of offices down from 734 to 602, a 17 percent reduction.

He added: “So, having defended this show — and what we stand for — from every angle, over time with everything I could, I am stepping aside

In what many citizens concerned with the survival of Austria as a European nation-state are calling a demographic tipping point, Muslims have now become the largest religious group in Vienna’s compulsory schools, comprising a striking 41.2% of all students across primary, secondary, and vocational education levels.
The stark demographic shift has sparked outrage among conservatives and nationally-minded citizens in Austria, with the Freedom Party (FPÖ) warning that the capital is being culturally transformed beyond recognition.

Two German teenagers who traveled to the United States were arrested and denied entry after US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) deemed their trip “suspicious.”
Several outlets reported that Charlotte Pohl, 19, and Maria Lepere, 18, arrived in Honolulu, Hawaii, on March 18 and planned to travel the islands before heading to California.
However, the teens’ journey was abruptly derailed when Border Protection realized that the girls did not book their accommodations for the duration of their visit in Hawaii.
“They found it suspicious that we hadn’t fully booked our accommodations for the entire five weeks in Hawaii,” Pohl told Ostsee Zeitung, a German outlet.

Elizabeth Warren, best known for impersonating a Native American to gain favorable treatment at Harvard, is big mad at the White House. What's she ranting about this time? President Donald Trump had the audacity, the absolute gall, even, to collect on taxpayer-backed student loans that people voluntarily took out.
According to the far left, the imbecile who took out a $100,000 loan to pay for a useless liberal arts degree shouldn't be on the hook. Instead, you should be on the hook. Sure, you paid your way through college, and you've got bills of your own to worry about,

You can always count on the legacy media to get things laughably wrong. But in this case, one arm of the legacy media committed an act of malpractice that is, frankly, appalling.
In this case, it's NBC News, whining that a brave and dedicated Russian scientist was detained by Homeland Security when all she wanted to do was cure cancer. The NBC headline reads:
New images could change cancer diagnostics but ICE detained the Harvard scientist who analyzes them.
Way to miss the point, NBC. Homeland Security took to X to reply, and it presents a vastly different picture:

The story said, “The grants are designed to address a range of issues, including improving the health of children in rural America who have been exposed to pesticides from agriculture and other pollution; reducing exposure to wildfire smoke; and preventing forever chemicals from contaminating

The Marxist leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Colombia all offered statements honoring the legacy of the late Pope Francis on Monday, embracing him as a friend to their cause.
The most vocal praise came from Cuba, where dictator Raúl Castro – who once joked he would return to the Catholic Church if Pope Francis “kept it up” – called him a “dear friend” and credited him with making the Church more palatable to the Communist Party leadership. Figurehead President Miguel Díaz-Canel similarly lauded Pope Francis as “unforgettable” and credited him with making Cuba a priority in his service as head of the church.

The center-left in the United States is no longer a viable political force. Once among the largest segments in the political spectrum, it meekly surrendered to and has been essentially absorbed by the American Marxists. This was a realignment almost entirely due to the breathtaking level of gullibility and ignorance of ostensibly well-educated self-described liberals.
Over the years, this naïveté and obliviousness have been a source of amusement and head-shaking incredulity. However, these traits have now become so dominant among an ever-growing segment within American society that the future of this nation as a prosperous and freedom-loving country is in serious jeopardy.

Soros-backed Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty will not seek criminal charges for the Tim Walz staffer who vandalized at least six Teslas in Minnesota, causing $20,000 in damage.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office will seek “diversion” rather than criminal charges.
Last week, TGP reported that a fiscal policy analyst for Minnesota Governor (and failed VP candidate) Tim Walz’s administration was caught on camera vandalizing a Tesla.
Dylan Bryan Adams, 33, was caught on camera keying a Tesla while walking his dog.

Hundreds of sharp nails were found mysteriously embedded point-up in a Cape Cod town’s roadways — and police have no idea who’s behind the dangerous stunt.
At least 478 nails were recovered spread across four Falmouth roads early Friday morning, according to the Falmouth Police Department.
Photos shared by the department showed dozens of nails with their heads pressed deliberately into tar patches across the roads and points poised skyward — ready to impale the tires of cars passing by.
The spikes were found around 2 a.m. by an officer on patrol, who found even more littered across nearby sidewalks and spread up driveways —

Maine Democrats want to amend the state constitution to permanently allow transgender-identifying males to compete in female sports.
Maine’s Democrat House Majority voted on Thursday to pass a bill that would codify the Maine Human Rights Act (MHRA) in the state’s constitution. The proposed bill, LD 260, passed with a slim majority and will ultimately need two-thirds majority in both chambers before it can go before voters, Fox News reported. State officials have cited the MHRA in their ongoing dispute with the Trump administration over its allowance of males in female sports and spaces. MHRA is the state’s anti-discrimination law, and lawmakers added “gender identity” protections in 2021.

Democrats attempted to own the Trump administration by criticizing it for using real eggs for Monday’s White House Easter Egg Roll, claiming that Americans instead dyed potatoes due to the prices.
“Trump’s White House is using 30,000 real eggs worth over $15,500 for their Easter Egg Roll,” the Democrats’ official account — which boasts 2.3 million followers — said on X on the day of the annual tradition. “Meanwhile, Americans dyed potatoes instead of eggs this Easter to save money,” they bizarrely claimed.
(X) Many social media users were perplexed by the claims of these Democrats.
“Not a single American dyed potatoes,” one said.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) struggled to justify her defense of former President Joe Biden’s mental acuity when grilled over it during a recent podcast interview.
“Do you regret saying that President Biden had a mental acuity, he had a sharpness to him?” Sam Fragoso, host of “Talk Easy,” asked the Massachusetts Democrat in an interview posted on Sunday.
“You said that up until July of last year,” Fragoso added, noting that Warren had backed Biden up until he bowed out of the 2024 presidential race.
“I said what I believe to be true,” Warren responded.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has sunk to a new low, vowing political retribution against foreign leaders who dare to work with President Donald Trump in a stunning display of political pettiness and desperation. Rather than putting America first, Raskin is threatening allies and partners simply for engaging with the president and his administration, underscoring just how far the left is willing to go to cling to power and punish anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their agenda.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries appeared on ABC News over the weekend and openly defied the recently announced strategy of DNC vice chair David Hogg, who is planning to primary members of his own party.
This is the second time in a week that Hogg has been called out by a high level Democrat. Dem strategist James Carville called David Hogg ‘a contemptible little twerp’ during a recent appearance on NewsNation.
The DNC made a huge mistake in appointing Hogg as vice chair. He is an activist. He has zero experience in getting people elected to office.

Former Fox News contributor, author, entrepreneur, and pundit Steve Hilton has thrown his hat into the ring and announced Monday that he will run as a Republican for California governor in ’26. He released a moving video on X describing his political journey, his past positions at the top levels of the British government, his move to California in 2012, and the immense pride he felt when he became a United States citizen. I’ve seen Hilton speak, and he’s a passionate warrior and patriot who cares deeply about the Golden State and its horrendous decline under one-party rule.
“It’s time to make California Golden Again,” he said in his post:

The Vatican has released images of Pope Francis being laid out in an open coffin ahead of the Confirmation of the Death of the Pontiff ceremony.
His Holiness died Monday after suffering a stroke that led to irreversible heart failure following a weeks-long hospitalization with pneumonia. He was 88.
The pontiff’s body had been placed in the coffin late Monday night, with Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Vatican camerlengo — the “chamberlain” who essentially acts as head of the Vatican between the end of a papacy and the start of the next — reading the official declaration of death aloud in an intimate ceremony.

Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) blasted Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), his former colleague on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), after Bacon played up recent establishment media attacks on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Bacon latched onto the latest batch of establishment media attacks alleging Hegseth shared classified information in a Signal chat.
Banks attacked Bacon for using the reports as a pretense to attack the Trump agenda, which Hegseth is carrying out at the Department of Defense, pointing out Bacon has often cast votes to kill Trump’s America First agenda in the past.
