Three federal prosecutors have resigned instead of admitting wrongdoing following suspensions over their handling of the federal corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams – bringing the number of lawyers who have left the Justice Department in the fallout from the case to 10.
The three who most recently resigned were Assistant U.S. Attorneys Celia Cohen, Andrew Rohrbach and Derek Wikstrom, who were assigned to the department's Southern District of New York.
The Trump administration – not them – mishandled the case, according to a letter from them reviewed by NBC News.
They were suspended after refusing to take part in the Justice Department's move to drop the prosecution against Adams.

The Department of Agriculture has worked with the Department of Government Efficiency to slash millions in woke spending projects, from a $300,000 contract educating queer and transgender farmers to $5 million to keep trees alive.
“Probably the most stunning for me was the $500,000 grant to study transgenderism in mice,” Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told The Daily Signal.
The National Institutes of Health under the Biden administration allocated millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded grants for institutions to perform transgender experiments on mice, composing a total of more than $8 million in spending, according to the White House.

After four years of strong conservative governance in Virginia, Republicans in the state are weary of a fall election cycle that could spell trouble for the GOP. Though the Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin enjoys a high approval rate in statewide polling, he is term-capped and will not feature on this November’s gubernatorial ballot.
Virginia voters will instead select between two women when they enter polling stations this fall, a historic first for the state. The former House Rep. Abigail Spanberger is besting the sitting Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in early polling of the gubernatorial election. Spanberger also holds a considerable fundraising edge, with the former CIA operations manager

Disillusioned gangsters have splintered from Tren du Aragua to form an 'Anti-Tren' alliance terrorizing the streets of New York City.
In a shocking revelation on Tuesday, authorities said a targeted effort to crack down on the Tren du Aragua criminal enterprise in the city actually yielded unexpected results.
A total of 27 people were indicted on sweeping charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, drug, and firearms charges - but just six are current members of the feared Venezuelan gang.
The remainder - 21 people - are instead linked to a new 'splinter' gang who refer to themselves as 'Anti-Tren.'
Membership is primarily comprised of former Tren du Aragua gangsters who have become disenfranchised or ostracized

The World Economic Forum is investigating its founder and former chairman Klaus Schwab over whistleblower complaints of unethical conduct and misappropriating organization funds.
Schwab stepped down as chair and as a member of the board of trustees on Monday, just days after the board received an anonymous letter with allegations against Schwab and his wife, Hilde, according to The Wall Street Journal. Schwab had announced earlier this month that he planned to resign as the non-executive chairman of WEF by January of next year amid an investigation into the WEF’s workplace culture.
The earlier probe into WEF’s workplace culture also implicated Schwab, but the WEF said that the allegations

The California Legislative Analyst’s Office reports the state’s drug spending has doubled since 2018, with a quarter of the increase coming from weight loss drugs and an unknown portion from drugs for illegal immigrants.
Drug spending for Medi-Cal, the state’s taxpayer-funded public health care program, has increased from approximately $4 billion in the 2018-2019 fiscal year to approximately $8 billion for 2023-2024.
In the same period, Medi-Cal enrollment rose from 33.2% of the state population to 38.2%, or growth of about 15%.
So how did drug spending double despite enrollment growing just 15%?
A quarter of the doubling is from the state’s coverage of weight loss drugs such as

Should sitting judges — especially the controversial James Boasberg and Tanya Chutkan — be able to tell the president what other judges he can appoint? Of course not. But under the current system for selecting D.C.’s local judges, that’s exactly what happens.
It’s bad enough that those challenging Trump administration policies have sought to bring their cases before D.C. federal judges like those mentioned above, who they believe will be inclined to rule against the administration — especially on hot button issues like abortion, immigration, government spending, and trans-identifying individuals in the military, just to name a few. But what’s worse is that those same judges have been empowered

A group of Democratic congressional reps traveled to Louisiana to visit Mahmoud Khalil and Rümeysa Öztürk in a pair of federal detention centers on Tuesday as both face potential removal from the United States.
Five lawmakers — including Rep. Troy Carter, of Louisiana; Rep. Bennie Thompson, of Mississippi; and Reps. Ayanna Pressley, Jim McGovern and Sen. Ed Markey, all of Massachusetts — stopped by a federal Immigration of Customs Enforcement facility in Jena to see Khalil and then traveled to Basile, where Öztürk is detained, CNN reported.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro revealed Tuesday that he believes the Trump administration has revoked his travel visa to the US.
Petro, who earlier this year caved to pressure from President Trump to accept deported migrants, made the claim during a Cabinet meeting in Bogota, as he explained why he couldn’t participate in spring meetings hosted by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, DC.
“I can no longer go because I believe they took away my visa,” Petro said.

The Department of Health and Human Services will hand out over $20 million in “diversity” grants this year aimed at increasing the number of minority nurses, even as the Trump administration has sought to crack down on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The purpose of the initiative, known as the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWP) Program, is to “increase nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses).” It is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency of HHS, and has distributed nearly $200 million in grants since 2008.

Carved into the stone of the Black Hills of South Dakota, four faces look down upon this great nation: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt. Four American heroes, revered, respected, and representing the noblest aspirations of the American people.
The gentleman farmer-turned-general who took down the most powerful army in the world, then shepherded the newborn nation through its infancy.
The folksy woodsman who freed a race of people and ensured the United States would move forward as one.

Over the past two decades, a reclusive Swiss billionaire has poured more than $800 million into left-wing causes across America, and now states are fighting back.
Hansjörg Wyss, 89, a Swiss national with an estimated net worth of roughly five billion dollars, has quietly become one of the most influential donors on the American left. He has spent more than $800 million bankrolling hundreds of left-wing causes across the United States, donating millions to climate change groups, abortion activists, and the Clinton Foundation.
Information about him is sparse, but his sister once wrote that Wyss seeks to “(re)interpret the American Constitution in the light of progressive politics.”
