Disney+’s acclaimed Andor has stretched the creative boundaries of Star Wars in countless ways, bringing a grown-up sensibility to a galaxy far, far away.
Yet even by Andor standards, a scene from the second season is leaving fans shocked: An Imperial officer tries to violently rape a Rebel fugitive, Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona), who is hiding out in a farming settlement while Imperial troops are rounding up “undocumented” citizens (read some sample reactions below). The sequence plays out over the course of the show’s third episode (the first three episodes were released all at once on Tuesday) with the officer’s flirtation with Bix turning growing increasingly persistent and eventually

Democrat consultants are warning Democrats that they are taking a massive political risk by defending an illegal alien deported to El Salvador after being accused of MS-13 gang membership, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
Last month, the Trump administration deported 29-year-old Kilmar Abrego Garcia — an illegal alien from El Salvador who had been arrested in 2019 and accused by the Prince George’s County Police Department of being a member of the violent MS-13 gang.
Federal immigration judges likewise believed Abrego Garcia was a member of MS-13 after a reliable criminal informant confirmed the illegal alien’s rank within the gang.

The FBI, along with state and local law enforcement, on Wednesday raided the homes of anti-Israel activists connected to protests at the University of Michigan.
Authorities began executing search warrants Wednesday morning in Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Canton in southeastern Michigan, the Detroit Metro Times and the Detroit Free Press reported. Several people were detained before they were eventually released.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office is handling the ongoing investigation, but it declined to provide details about the raids. A spokesperson, however, clarified that the police activity was unrelated to illegal immigration

Podcast host Jennifer Welch became enraged during a Tuesday episode of her show when former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel downplayed the importance of transgender issues.
Emanuel, who is seriously considering a bid for president in 2028, appeared on “I’ve Had It” and criticized the Democratic Party for focusing on “bathroom” issues at the expense of “kitchen table” and “family room” issues. Welch vehemently disagreed and became agitated, accusing Emanuel of adopting a “right-wing media narrative.” “That is such *! That is total *! That is buying into the right-wing media narrative and I’m so sick of Democrats like you selling out

Can you believe it? The Democrats, once the supposed champions of the working class, have exposed themselves as nothing more than elitist snobs who couldn't care less about real Americans. Recent polling has confirmed what conservatives have known all along: the Democratic Party is now the domain of overeducated, snobby, wealthy liberals who look down on anyone who doesn't share their "enlightened" worldview.
Remember when Democrats at least pretended to care about the working class? Those days are long gone, replaced by a woke agenda that caters to the most unhinged elements of society. Now, they're more interested in slobbering over MS-13 gangbangers than addressing the real concerns of everyday Americans.

Public trust in media has never been lower. Once-important newspapers have hemorrhaged subscribers and readers. Ratings for cable-TV outlets like CNN and MSNBC have cratered. And guess who's fault it is -- at least according to CNN's assorted talking heads?
Yours. And mine too, it seems ... for pointing out just how badly they do their jobs.
How low can they go? Scott Jennings provides this clip from last night's panel discussion, in which Jeff Jarvis refers to new media and its audiences as "freaks," to which the rest of the panel save Jennings at least tacitly agrees. No, I am not kidding:

After weeks of pain, the stock market is eyeing some relief from tariffs and fears about Donald Trump's encroachment on the Federal Reserve. US stocks soared Wednesday after comments from Trump helped ease two major headwinds for the stock market: steep tariffs on China and the early termination of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. The rally midweek adds to Tuesday's gain, which saw the Dow rise nearly 1,000 points while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 were up over 2%.
Other assets that had been hit by the "sell America" trade in recent days also rose. The moves on Wednesday morning include:

President Trump is seeing a drop in economic approval as concerns rise over his sweeping tariff agenda, which he argues will revitalize manufacturing domestically, according to a survey released Wednesday.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that just 37 percent of Americans approved of Trump’s handling of the economy — down 5 points since he returned to the Oval Office earlier this year. It is the lowest figure on the topic spanning both of his presidential terms, theNearly 75 percent of U.S. adults said they are worried about a recession and more than half the respondents, 56 percent, said Trump’s retooling of the economy is “too erratic,” including about 1 in 4

As RedState reported earlier, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) did an interview on "Meet the Press" Sunday, where he dropped facts on Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) on the issue of whether suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported to El Salvador in March, had been afforded due process.
"In my judgment, [Van Hollen] is utterly and gloriously wrong," Kennedy told host Kristen Welker. "I mean, most of this gauzy rhetoric is just rage bait. Unless you’re next-level obtuse, you know that Mr. Garcia is never coming back to the United States ever," he also remarked.

Tuesday, during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Chevron CEO Mike Wirth downplayed the possibility of a recession.
He did acknowledge, however, that growth was slowing.
“Does that mean you don’t think we’re headed into a recession in your plans at this point?” “Squawk Box” co-host Becky Quick asked.
Wirth replied, “You know, there’s no signs that we see at this point that we’re in or close to a recession. There are signs that growth may be slowing.

Oooh, wasn't I glad to see Ed's earlier piece on what Marco Rubio announced over at the State Department this morning. Ed said that the New York Times was in 'freakout mode' over the changes, between Rubio's basic announcement and Trump's EO.
...The attached statement doesn't describe the sweeping nature of the reforms Rubio plans to implement. Fortunately, the New York Times has entered freak-out mode over the executive order issued by Donald Trump outlining its scope and scale...

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he has “no intention” of firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell before his term leading the U.S. central bank ends next year.
“None whatsoever,” Trump said in the Oval Office when asked to clarify that he did not seek Powell’s removal. “Never did.”
The comment represents a dramatic shift for Trump, who has recently ramped up his rhetoric against Powell and declined to rule out the possibility of taking the unprecedented step of firing him.
U.S. stock futures rose sharply across major indexes following Trump’s latest remarks.
