Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on an investors’ call Tuesday that his time as a full-time employee of the Department of Government Efficiency is coming to a close. “The large slug of work necessary to get the DOGE team in place and working in the government to get the financial house in order is mostly done, and I think, starting probably next month — May — my time allocation to DOGE will drop significantly,” he said. “I’ll have to continue doing it for probably the remainder of the President [Donald Trump]’s term, just to make sure that the waste and fraud

Gosh, Beaver, Mr. Musk actually did with DOGE what good CEO and managerial-types do with start-up enterprises. They get it up and running, find competent folks to do the work, and install other managers to supervise the ongoing work in the way the enterprise was designed and built to do. He even skipped taking a pay check!

Jack Schlossberg—grandson of former President John F. Kennedy—lashed out on social media Monday morning, accusing Vice President J.D. Vance of “killing the pope” just hours after the Vatican announced the death of Pope Francis. The accusation comes after Pope Francis’s passing, ending his 12-year tenure as head of the Roman Catholic Church. Vance, a Catholic convert since 2019, had a brief private meeting with the pontiff at Casa Santa Marta on Easter Sunday. The meeting lasted about 15–17 minutes, during which they exchanged Easter greetings.

A former senior adviser to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth who lost his job last week amid an investigation into press leaks from the Pentagon — pointed the finger in a different direction during an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Dan Caldwell, who has been placed on “administrative leave,” told Carlson in the interview released Monday that the Pentagon is rife with opponents of President Donald Trump and his administration’s goals. Those are where the leaks are coming from, he said. But there’s a “less obvious place” that’s a possibility, he suggested. And he named one name that shocked viewers

The families of the victims of an Orange County, Calif., high-speed car crash are sending letters to the state to keep an illegal immigrant convicted felon behind bars, as he’s expected to be released from prison over six years before his 10-year sentence is up. Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano, 43, was driving drunk, high, and speeding at nearly 100mph on the 405 freeway in Orange County in November 2021, when he crashed into a car being driven by a young couple, 19-year-olds Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin, killing them both as they burned alive. In 2022, he was convicted of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Four years of classes, thousands of dollars in tuition and one freshly minted diploma — all to be outdone by a chatbot. As artificial intelligence floods the workplace, nearly half of Gen Z job seekers say their degrees have already been made obsolete by the rise of generative AI tools like ChatGPT — and they’re wondering why they even bothered hitting the books in the first place. It’s a waste of time and money, according to respondents to a new Indeed report, which found 49% of Gen Z job hunters think their college education has lost value in the job market thanks to AI.

Three federal prosecutors have resigned instead of admitting wrongdoing following suspensions over their handling of the federal corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams – bringing the number of lawyers who have left the Justice Department in the fallout from the case to 10. The three who most recently resigned were Assistant U.S. Attorneys Celia Cohen, Andrew Rohrbach and Derek Wikstrom, who were assigned to the department's Southern District of New York. The Trump administration – not them – mishandled the case, according to a letter from them reviewed by NBC News. They were suspended after refusing to take part in the Justice Department's move to drop the prosecution against Adams.

The Department of Agriculture has worked with the Department of Government Efficiency to slash millions in woke spending projects, from a $300,000 contract educating queer and transgender farmers to $5 million to keep trees alive. “Probably the most stunning for me was the $500,000 grant to study transgenderism in mice,” Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told The Daily Signal. The National Institutes of Health under the Biden administration allocated millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded grants for institutions to perform transgender experiments on mice, composing a total of more than $8 million in spending, according to the White House.

After four years of strong conservative governance in Virginia, Republicans in the state are weary of a fall election cycle that could spell trouble for the GOP. Though the Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin enjoys a high approval rate in statewide polling, he is term-capped and will not feature on this November’s gubernatorial ballot. Virginia voters will instead select between two women when they enter polling stations this fall, a historic first for the state. The former House Rep. Abigail Spanberger is besting the sitting Lt. In a shocking revelation on Tuesday, authorities said a targeted effort to crack down on the Tren du Aragua criminal enterprise in the city actually yielded unexpected results. A total of 27 people were indicted on sweeping charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, drug, and firearms charges - but just six are current members of the feared Venezuelan gang. The remainder - 21 people - are instead linked to a new 'splinter' gang who refer to themselves as 'Anti-Tren.' The California Legislative Analyst’s Office reports the state’s drug spending has doubled since 2018, with a quarter of the increase coming from weight loss drugs and an unknown portion from drugs for illegal immigrants. Drug spending for Medi-Cal, the state’s taxpayer-funded public health care program, has increased from approximately $4 billion in the 2018-2019 fiscal year to approximately $8 billion for 2023-2024. In the same period, Medi-Cal enrollment rose from 33.2% of the state population to 38.2%, or growth of about 15%. So how did drug spending double despite enrollment growing just 15%? A quarter of the doubling is from the state’s coverage of weight loss drugs such as

Should sitting judges — especially the controversial James Boasberg and Tanya Chutkan — be able to tell the president what other judges he can appoint? Of course not. But under the current system for selecting D.C.’s local judges, that’s exactly what happens. It’s bad enough that those challenging Trump administration policies have sought to bring their cases before D.C. federal judges like those mentioned above, who they believe will be inclined to rule against the administration — especially on hot button issues like abortion, immigration, government spending, and trans-identifying individuals in the military, just to name a few. Velazquez successfully argued that his 60-day notice to leave the country — which ended on a Saturday — should have provided more flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Policy experts and advocates for boosting the birth rate have been meeting with White House aides to come up with plans to convince more women to have babies, four people who have been part of the meetings told the New York Times.

Conservative Christians have flooded social media with support for Cardinal Robert Sarah to succeed the late Pope Francis because of his strong traditionalist stands on sexuality and church doctrine as well as his opposition to mass immigration and Islamism. Why It Matters The rising profile of the African cardinal, 79, comes at a time of ideological division within Catholicism, as the Church grapples with questions of modernity, sexual identity, and religious pluralism, and also as more right wing political movements in Europe and elsewhere have challenged what they see as the orthodoxy of a liberal global elite. Unlike Pope Francis—who often leaned into progressive stances on social justice and inclusion—

Maine Democrats want to amend the state constitution to permanently allow transgender-identifying males to compete in female sports. Maine’s Democrat House Majority voted on Thursday to pass a bill that would codify the Maine Human Rights Act (MHRA) in the state’s constitution. The proposed bill, LD 260, passed with a slim majority and will ultimately need two-thirds majority in both chambers before it can go before voters, Fox News reported. State officials have cited the MHRA in their ongoing dispute with the Trump administration over its allowance of males in female sports and spaces. MHRA is the state’s anti-discrimination law, and lawmakers added “gender identity” protections in 2021.
