An NCAA tournament defined by its lack of suspense came down to its final possession Monday. Florida won its third national championship 65-63 by overcoming a 12-point second-half deficit and making one final defensive stand. Houston got the ball back with 19 seconds left but could not get a final shot off. Catching a pass well beyond the 3-point line with five seconds remaining, Cougars guard Emanuel Sharp jumped for what would have been a game-winning attempt but pump-faked seeing the defense of Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. Sharp avoided a travel by bouncing the ball while in the air, but a teammate could not rush over in time to grab the ball

The president also noted that there will be no talks with China until the $295 billion trade deficit is addressed,

Two strange phenomena now characterize the political landscape. One, opposition to the Trump administration’s initiatives has reached a near-unprecedented fever pitch. The frenzy is manifested in strange ways. At the bottom end, there is an epidemic of street terrorism, including the keying of Teslas, bullying their owners, firebombing dealerships, or vandalizing charging stations. All that is mostly the logical but dirty reification of those in the media and the Democrats who brand Elon Musk as a foreign-born counterfeit citizen and a disloyal un-American foreigner, thus deserving to be “taken down,” in the words of Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

Vice President JD Vance fulfilled a promise he made at the Republican National Convention this past summer, celebrating his mother's 10th sobriety anniversary at the White House. It is a truly inspiring and heartwarming story. Vance's mother, Beverly "Bev" Aikins, plays a significant role in his memoir "Hillbilly Elegy," where she is portrayed as a complex and troubled figure whose struggles profoundly shaped Vance’s life. In the book, she is described as a woman caught in a cycle of instability, addiction, and personal turmoil, which mirrors some of the broader challenges he attributes to the "hillbilly" community. In the 2020 Netflix film adaptation of "Hillbilly Elegy," directed by Ron Howard,

A disheartening number of people in general, but notably more on the left side of the political spectrum, are embracing an "assassination culture" that suggests there is justification for violence against political opponents, a new study finds. Not that a study was necessary based on the number of Tesla dealership firebombings and as actual attempts on President Trump's life have borne out. That said, Rutgers University’s Network Contagion Research Institute, or NCRI, has just released a report indicating that "violence targeting Donald Trump and Elon Musk is becoming increasingly normalized."

Instead, drivers will receive warnings during that time. Once citations do start, however, the income level of the driver will determine how much he or she will pay.

We were bemused at the Orwellian doublespeak of the weekend protests, which were waged under the banner of “hands off.” Hands off? What the protesters really want is for the government to keep its hands on – on our throats choking out our freedoms and in our pockets stealing our money. Naturally, the protesters describe themselves as “defending democracy” and the current situation a “crisis.” What else is new? But this particular effort – reported by most of the press to be “massive,” encompassing, said CNN, “scores of people” (20s of people?) – was more mindless than usual.

The anti-Elon Musk/Donald Trump protests over the weekend were insane. As we noted before, it was mostly relegated to blue enclaves. It’s not a Tea Party moment for Democrats, who couldn’t even explain their protest signs without reading off a script. I’m not kidding. (X's) Trump’s head was carried around by someone dressed as Lady Liberty. I feel this weekend just provided Democrats an excuse to draw a swastika and not get canceled over it. It’s a coping mechanism for Democrats. They have every right to whine and moan about not being able to beat Trump, but everyone else is moving on with their lives.

The last thing the Palestinians need are more calls from Qatar-based extremist for terrorism and jihad. If these Muslim "scholars" really want to help their Palestinian brothers, they should be calling on Hamas to release all the Israeli hostages they kidnapped, then to disarm, and then to stop pursuing the disastrous path of terrorism and jihad. The "scholars" leading the IUMS live safely in Qatar, not in the Gaza Strip, and they are therefore not directly affected by the war that Hamas launched. Anyone foolish enough to take seriously the rhetoric of the Democrats concerning the reciprocal tariffs announced by President Trump on “Liberation Day” will experience two sensations — dread and confusion. This unpleasant combination was inevitable due to the strident denunciation of tariffs by a political party whose presidents have routinely deployed them in the recent past. President Obama, for example, imposed a 35 percent tariff on Chinese tires and President Biden deployed a 25 percent tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum. Yet the voters are now expected to believe the Trump tariffs will somehow plunge us into a recession.
