Miami’s ‘Little Venezuela’ fears
Trump’s moves against migration

Doral, Fla. — Wilmer Escaray left Venezuela in 2007 and enrolled at Miami Dade College, opening his first restaurant six years later. Today he has a dozen businesses that hire Venezuelan migrants like he once was, workers who are now terrified by what could be the end of their legal shield from deportation. Since the start of February the Trump administration has ended two federal programs that together allowed more 700,000 Venezuelans to live and work legally in the U.S. along with hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians and Nicaraguans. In the largest Venezuelan community in the United States,

I also hope we can find a legal pathway for Venezuelans who haven't committed crimes. They are on sufferance everywhere, not quite allowed, only on the edges of things, suspected, trouble getting loans no matter how good their businesses are. Where are they supposd to be? I have heard at present the pay for a week of unskilled labor in Venezuela is $10. What are they supposed to do? It is Maduro's fault. It is the Russians' fault because they would not let Maduro step down when he was willing to. The ones I personally know are good and smart and talented and educated, and put their faith in God because no one else cares.

In the overall scheme of things, when trying to seek asylum, maybe integrate into the society you want to have protect you? Stop flying the flag of the hell-hole you are fleeing. Spend some time on DuoLingo with free English lessions? Have pride in your protector's culture that you wish to accept as your own?

I kept reading the words Venezuela and Venezuelan in the article. This is America and despite sweet smells wafting from Venezuelan kitchens in Florida Americans need to get their country back. Our forbears fought for and built this country. Perhaps Wilmer and his employees should do the same for their descendants in their own homeland.

Man, I hate to sound cold, however: Let's say, for example, I got several speeding tickets and somehow managed to evade authorities for several years. If I were to finally get nabbed one day and found myself suddenly facing jail time, would anyone be writing sympathetic articles on my behalf? Would there be protests? Would someone start a GoFundMe account on my behalf? I didn't think so. They may be otherwise fine people but they knew darned well what they were doing when they crossed the Rio Grande River and jumped that fence. The ones who came here illegally know that they are wrong. Try this in any other country on the planet and see what happens to you.

The U.S. does not have a problem with migrants. The real problem is ILLEGALS. Come to this country the right way and abide the law and we welcome you! Come here illegally and we will send you back and never think you will be welcome again.

The US I grew up in and love was conquered, settled and built by people of primarily European ancestry. Our ideas and traditions largely come from there. Well, not anymore. Our "Hate America First" government has allowed in so many 3rd world animals their cultures have polluted ours. If we must have legal immigrants, how about some European ones? You know, ones like us?

Believe it, or not, I still have Democrat friends. Just a handful out of the 6,000 names in my cell phone address book. But those few Democrats keep texting me to say, “We finally got him. Your friend Trump has finally done it. He screwed up- he’s destroyed the economy, he’s destroyed the Republican Party.” And I just smile and laugh. I’ve heard this exact same delusional, wishful thinking a hundred times since 2015. It’s been 10 straight years of “He’s finally done it. Trump is finished.” And for 10 years all these delusional Democrats have been dead wrong every time.

China’s retaliation against President Donald Trump’s tariffs includes more export controls on rare earth minerals, which are vital to electronics and battery manufacturing. The Chinese government said over the weekend that it will maintain its supply of rare earths to the rest of the world stable while limiting U.S. access to the minerals. China is the world’s dominant producer of rare earth minerals, accounting for about 70 percent of the world’s supply at the moment. More precisely, China supplies roughly 60 percent of the raw minerals, but controls almost 90 percent of processing and refining capacity.

Vice President JD Vance fulfilled a promise he made at the Republican National Convention this past summer, celebrating his mother's 10th sobriety anniversary at the White House. It is a truly inspiring and heartwarming story. Vance's mother, Beverly "Bev" Aikins, plays a significant role in his memoir "Hillbilly Elegy," where she is portrayed as a complex and troubled figure whose struggles profoundly shaped Vance’s life. In the book, she is described as a woman caught in a cycle of instability, addiction, and personal turmoil, which mirrors some of the broader challenges he attributes to the "hillbilly" community. President Donald Trump is more popular now than before he sent the global markets into a frenzy by enacting sweeping new tariffs. An exclusive DailyMail.com/J.L. Trump's rising approval rating is surprising given the flak the White House has received over the tariff order signed Wednesday. It is up by 13 points since March 7 among those aged 18 to 29.
