You can see her practicing in the mirror — the Hitler-esque fist slamming on the table, the theatrically exasperated voice, the rhetorical non-apology apology (“sorry, I’m just really mad about this”) — to hit every note just right, to stir the emotions of MSNBC’s lobotomized viewers to maximum effect. Weingarten, for the record, is a nakedly partisan political hack, as is the public employee union she represents. She doubles as the teachers’ union boss and a DNC Rules Committee voting member. The union’s Open Secrets page reveals a cornucopia of funding avenues that all feed the Democrat machine.

bona fide opposition movement has grasped the reins in Washington. Since he was sworn in, rather than sitting atop or expanding the vast federal bureaucracy like his Republican predecessors, President Donald Trump has wielded his executive authority to cut, curb, and convert the woke and weaponized administrative state into a constrained and constitutional government. And he’s just getting started. Enter Congress. President Trump pressing the reset button on the administrative state has already done more to move America in the right direction than anything else we’ve seen in recent memory, but executive orders giveth and executive orders taketh away.

Syrian-born Palestinian activist and former Columbia University graduate student was arrested on Saturday and will reportedly have his green card revoked because of his involvement in radical left-wing protests supporting Hamas. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, saying Khalil “led activities aligned to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.” According to his attorney, Khalil is a permanent resident with a green card. Federal law prohibits providing “material support or resources” to any designated terrorist organizations. President Donald Trump said his administration would not tolerate any “pro-terrorist” behavior in a Truth Social post.

As part of the deception, according to the IDF report, Hamas was working to convince Israel that it was interested in calm and was working for economic prosperity. The IDF investigation concluded that Hamas had planned the October 7 attack for more than 10 years. Today, everyone knows that the talk about a long-term truce was nothing but a smokescreen to conceal Hamas's real intention of launching its October 7 attack against Israel. Hamas anyway is not known for honoring ceasefire agreements.... On July 26, 2014, Hamas announced a 24-hour humanitarian ceasefire at 14.00. Hamas violated its own ceasefire a short time later.

Wall Street is puking big time, and the sell buttons are working overtime whenever the word “tariff” passes from Donald Trump’s lips. If you listen to the fat cat community long enough, you’d think Trump has been in office four years rather than four weeks, and that a small trade surcharge on a car from Mexico is leading us into economic Armageddon. I’m no fan of tariffs for lots of reasons, including I hate paying too much for stuff, but I’ve also taken enough econ and studied markets long enough to know that they’re not the end of the world as we know it.

Approximately 60 drones were launched from Ukraine overnight to attack the Russian capital city of Moscow. This is the largest escalation of drone/missile attacks into Russia so far. The attack comes, predictably, as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Nat Sec Advisor Mike Waltz and President Trump envoy Steve Witkoff arrive in Saudi Arabia for preliminary face-to-face talks with Ukraine officials. [Snip] 60+ drones launched against Russia’s largest city is intended to draw a major retaliation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, that is what the UK/EU and NATO apparatus want. The Zelenskyy people want Russia to attack Kiev so they can enlarge the scale and scope of U.S. involvement.

Ruth Marcus is leaving the Washington Post. What a loss. What a loss. Marcus is one of the many liberal columnists at the Post who are upset at Jeff Bezos' decision to move the paper's Opinion Page in a more liberty-friendly direction, promoting free market ideas and personal liberty rather than the soft-socialism usually found on the pages of the Post. In one way I applaud Marcus for taking a stand for principle; in another, I am inclined to roll my eyes. As a 66-year-old she is a spring chicken by Washington standards, hardly eligible by age to become a junior Senator.
