Federal workers in Washington, fired from their jobs as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing cuts, are being kept from getting unemployment checks, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray said Wednesday during a virtual press conference.
“We are hearing from literally hundreds of people … that they got this letter that said they were being fired for poor performance,” Murray said. “That has impacts beyond just the emotional ones you’re hearing and the fact that they’ve lost a job — but in many of those who are trying to collect unemployment, it is hampering them from collecting unemployment.” Three recently laid-off federal workers local to Washington

President Trump and Vice President JD Vance teamed up during a fiery White House meeting on Friday to epically put Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his place.
As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, Zelensky arrived at the White House on Friday to meet with President Trump to discuss his rare earth mineral rights proposal.
Ukraine agreed to Trump’s requested mineral rights deal with the US earlier this week to compensate Americans for the hundreds of billions of dollars the Biden regime had given them since the Ukraine-Russia war started three years ago.

Jill Biden’s former press secretary, Michael LaRosa, admitted the Biden White House covered up Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and “gaslighted” the public about his deteriorating condition.
For years, The Gateway Pundit documented Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.
The fake news media attacked the conservative media for posting videos of demented Biden wandering around lost and accused us of posting “cheap fakes.”
Last June, the Biden Camp and their stenographers in the media went into full-blown panic mode after a video of Biden wandering away from the G7 group went viral.

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order making English the official language of the United States.
Despite English being the predominant language, the U.S. has never had a national language at the federal level...
The summary of the order said the goal of making English the national language is to promote unity, establish efficiency in the government and provide a pathway to civic engagement.

As of this writing, Pope Francis is still alive but in serious condition.
This Sunday, the Oscars telecast will air and ironically, one of the Best Picture nominees is the film “Conclave” which is about the process to elect a new pope.
During my years at the New York Sun, I was frequently asked by my editor, Seth Lipsky, to cover current events involving Pope John Paul II and the priest scandals, presumably because I am a devout Catholic and had some access to the New York archdiocese and the then-archbishop of New York,

Former President Joe Biden told President Trump that he blamed fellow former President Barack Obama for the Democrats’ knockout loss in the 2024 election, the commander-in-chief revealed in a new interview.
Trump told the Spectator World he had visited the White House to meet with an “angry” Biden shortly after he defeated Vice President Kamala Harris — who took Biden’s place on the Democratic ticket after he was forced out of the race due to concerns over his age and abilities. (Photo's) “I asked him, I said, ‘So who do you blame?’ Because he was very angry, you know, he was a very angry guy, actually. And he said,

In consuming the news, one could easily conclude that, as we said earlier in the week, President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are carpet bombing the federal government. The wails and screeching breakdowns over the injustice of federal workers losing their jobs are ear-piercing. They are, we’re told, under attack.
After all, these are no everyday workers toiling for large corporations and small businesses – they’re federal employees who apparently are so indispensable to life as we know it that if they are no longer employed at taxpayers’ expense, America and maybe even western civilization will collapse.

A poll published this week by the firm Ipsos found Canada’s leftist Liberal Party overtaking the Conservatives in support for the first time since 2021, shortly before an expected election to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The survey, published on Wednesday in conjunction with the media outlet Global News, found the two parties within the margin of error of each other’s support. About 38 percent of respondents said they supported the Liberal Party, compared to 36 percent for the Conservatives. Support for the New Democratic Party (NDPs), a far-left rival to the Liberals, almost entirely collapsed to 12 percent. The poll’s margin of error is 3.8 percent.

After forces from the al-Qaeda affiliated Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group conquered Damascus and overthrew Syria's Assad regime in December 2024, they urged the residents of the Valley of the Christians to surrender any weapons they kept for self-defense, telling them that civilians would not be harmed. Since the jihadists' takeover of Syria, however, around 500,000 Christians in the country have been faced with increased persecution and abductions
On February 16, more Christians... were abducted from another village in the area. Their kidnappers, according to sources on the ground, are torturing them.

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) argued that the Trump administration hasn’t focused on the problems of everyday Americans, while Democrats are “continuing to make sure that we focus on trying to make life better for everyday Americans.” And “We have to drive down the high cost of living. We have to secure the border.”
Jeffries said, “Look, what we’ve seen from the Trump administration over the last several weeks is just a flood of unprecedented extremism and a parade of horribles that continue to be unleashed on the American people, while, at the same time, the Trump administration is not focused

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) praised President Donald Trump for giving “a masterclass on how to stand up for America” after kicking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky out of the White House after he made several “disrespectful” comments.
As Breitbart News’s Katherine Hamilton previously reported, Zelensky’s comments were made “in front of the media ahead of planned private talks and the expected signing of the much-discussed minerals deal.”After Zelensky was kicked out of the White House, the “White House confirmed” that Zelensky had not signed the minerals deal and Trump issued a statement in a post on Truth Social stating that he had “determined that President Zelensky is not ready
