What the Heck Was Zelensky Thinking?

Original Article

Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Oval Office on Friday, and as RedState reported, things blew up in spectacular fashion. The latest reports are that the Ukrainian president was kicked out of the White House, with the prior negotiated mineral rights for aid deal shelved indefinitely. So what exactly happened? That's a good question because I have no idea what Zelensky was thinking. This was not a situation where President Donald Trump was beating him over the head or demanding he submit to a specific narrative surrounding the war in Ukraine. On the contrary, the meeting was essentially over when Zelensky decided it'd be a great idea to try to publicly embarrass

It's regrettable that the dressing down of Zelensky happened in a public forum but it was a long time coming. Everything associated with the Ukraine-Russia war is the direct result of the weak, feckless leaders we had in the White House for the last 4 years. Our enemies always try to take advantage when useless democrats are in charge and now they're finding out very quickly that there's a new sheriff in town who won't be pushed around..

As the current tyrant of an oligarchy that was pampered and enriched in return for laundering the money of the Deep State, here and in Europe, his britches got way to big for him. Like Hollywood actors and actresses, he thought be was what he pretends to be. He has his laundered money somewhere safe where he himself will go when things get bad enough in the Ukraine. I fear for the people of the Ukraine because this man cares for those people as much as Putin cares for the average Russian. If Europe without the US wants to jump in, so be it. This is not going to end well and could possibly result in a limited nuclear exchange in Europe. I believe with Trump in charge the US will act in America's best interest and avoid being drawn in to a global WW III. FAFO !

Zelensky needs this war. Because he will be out of power when it's over. So he's counting on a never ending US gravy train to keep this going and himself in power. Being the toast of Europe is icing on the cake. He's not going to win the war. Ukraine doesn't have the manpower, resources, capital or industrial base to take the war to the Russians. American support and funding prolongs a bloody stalemate. Zelensky is demanding US guarantees that Russia will uphold its end of any deal. I have uncomfortable news for Ukraine. The US is not going to risk war with Russia over Ukraine. It might be different if Ukraine was economically vital to Europe and the US.

I don't know what's going on. But one of the steps in buying a car is to get up from the table with the salesperson, call him or her an anatomical orifice, and get up and walk out. You come back a few days later and you get a better deal. I hope that's what's going on.

This was just the proof that many people needed that Zelenskyy is not a real leader. If you are going to practice your showboating skills, do not do it in front of a guy like Donald Trump.

To be fair, Zelensky has never had to deal with a situation like this. In the past, he simply told his employees, Diaper Joe et al, what he wanted and like magic, he got it. Guess Zelensky wasn't briefed that Trump and Vance weren't 't on the payroll. The real enemies, China, Iran, Putin and others will take notice. Diaper Joe isn't in the Oval Office anymore and big bucks will not buy off Trump. I'm remind of the efforts Churchill put into cultivating Roosevelt and the American people when Britain stood alone. As desperate as the Brits were, Churchill was always gracious and grateful for what help the Americans did provide. That eventually paid huge dividends. Even Mussillini kissed Hitler's goose stepping behind to get stuff.

Speaking at London Stansted Airport after a day meeting with European and world leaders and King Charles, Zelensky said his country's freedom is "not for sale". Despite vowing not to quit despite pressure from the Trump administration after a White House talks descended into a chaotic shouting match, the leader did say he would step down as President if it meant Ukraine could join NATO. Pollster Frank Luntz conducted a series of shock polls--albeit somewhat unscientific ones--on the X platform after Zelensky suffered a total freakout in the Oval Office meet-up with President Trump and VP Vance--and he released the final results on Saturday. As I highlight here, the polling is not real, but it's worth mulling over a snapshot like this, I think. And whatever your opinion on Luntz's biases, stick with me here. As you'll see shortly, the Democrats will hate how many people answered, with the heat of a thousand dying suns--and what Luntz says it means for Tuesday's Joint Address to Congress

Virtually all political leaders — from both sides of the aisle and across the pond as well — have weighed in on the Oval Office dustup between President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday. Unsurprisingly, most of those in the Donald Trump Bad camp have attempted to lay things at the feet of Trump and Vance, conveniently overlooking the context of the discussions leading up to the meeting and the 30 minutes prior to the moment when things ratcheted up considerably. As with most things these days, the incident provided a Rorschach test of one's views on the players involved.

The left once again showed its true colors after President Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday. The pearl-clutching commentators, be they in Congress or the media, immediately ran with their favorite narrative: the explosive meeting was Trump’s fault, Trump embarrassed America, and he "ambushed" the poor Ukrainian leader in an orchestrated setup. There's just one problem—it's complete nonsense. But don't take my word for it. Even some voices on the left couldn't stomach the blatant mischaracterization of what actually happened. For the last decade, the establishment media have touted advocates’ claims that 15,000 transgender people are serving in the U.S. military. But this week, President Donald Trump’s Pentagon revealed the transgender population is just 4,240 service members. That adds up to one transgender person for every 500 service members in the United States military of 2.1 million active and reserve members. That transgender share is just 0.2 percent, or one-fifth of one percent, of the military. In football terms, the transgender share is just 8.6 inches on a 120-yard football field.
