In a continuation of the shake-up of financial leadership amid federal investigations, government efficiency audits, and adherence to accountability standards by the Department of Government Efficiency, FEMA CFO Mary Comans has been fired by the Department of Homeland Security for authorizing $59 million in payments to New York City that were used to house illegal migrants.

For decades, car-making has been the jewel in Germany's industrial crown, a powerful symbol of the country's famous post-war economic miracle. Its "Big Three" brands, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW, have long been praised for their performance, innovation and precision engineering. But today, the German motor industry is struggling. How can it get back on the road to recovery? When you arrive by train in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, the first thing you see is the Volkswagen factory. Its huge facade, emblazoned with a giant VW logo and flanked by four tall chimneys, dominates one bank of the canal that runs through the city.

The Department of Education on Tuesday urged the National Collegiate Athletic Association and a counterpart organization overseeing high school sports to restore to female athletes various records, titles, awards, and recognitions that were stolen by men during the Biden administration.
The Education Department’s general counsel sent a letter to the NCAA and the National Federation of State High School Associations asking them to “strip” the accolades “wrongfully credited to the biological males who unfairly competed against girls and women in The department said the request is “entirely consistent” with the NCAA’s policy change barring men from competing in women’s sports.athletics,” according to a press release.

For a solid week, blue states, labor unions, and non-profit organizations have descended on federal courts up and down the East Coast seeking to halt President Donald Trump’s agenda. And they have found receptive partners in a handful of federal judges willing to enter temporary restraining orders, or TROs, to immediately — and sometimes without any notice — prohibit the normal functioning of the executive branch.
To be clear, the TROs entered are not addressing specific disputes between Trump and the litigants, where the plaintiffs allege a particular action injures them in some concrete way. Rather, the country is seeing large coalitions of plaintiffs who oppose the president’s agenda filing lawsuits

DOGE has Democrats absolutely terrified, as well it should, for reasons enumerated many times on this website. DOGE has uncovered the biggest money laundering operation in human history, and he is just getting started. Aside from filing lawsuits and restraining orders, most of which will be delaying tactics instead of killer shots, the best they can do is throw as much * against the wall and hope some of it sticks. That, and call for violence, as many of the more radical Democrats have done. Most of the * that has been thrown has been aimed at Elon Musk and Big Balls, and since nobody cares about

Last Monday, I published “D.C. She first vented her spleen against the defendants and President Donald Trump (whom she accused of perpetrating a “revisionist myth”) in a wholly gratuitous screed about why the prosecutions were necessary and proper.(snip) But to show the president who was boss, she refused to dismiss the case with prejudice.

Three weeks into President Donald Trump’s second term and the Democrat Party is rudderless.
They lack compelling, charismatic leadership. They are rapidly losing ground in the culture war that they dominated for so long. They don’t have any favorable issues or narratives that are breaking out into the broader cultural consciousness. Their tried-and-true tactic of public shaming and cancelation couldn’t even keep the young DOGE employee known as “Big Balls” out of a job. However, there is one element of the activist left that still poses a significant threat to the Donald Trump and his agenda, and that is lawfare.

I have nothing against Michelle. The media tells us that she’s pretty, she’s smart, she’s accomplished, and I’m sure she’s charming. As her husband said about Hillary Clinton, she’s “likable enough.”
OK, I’ll admit that I didn’t particularly like her comment that the first time she was proud of America was the night Barack was elected. Surely there was a time in her first 45 years before then that she felt some pride in America. How about when the 1980 Olympic Hockey Team beat the Russians? How about when we put a man on the Moon? How about when we passed the Civil Rights Acts?

But the one-way tickets back are just a drop in the bucket in terms of what could come — given that the Biden administration ushered in more than 1 million Venezuelan migrants, including Tren de Aragua gang members, across the southern border.

There’s a famous quote on the subject of judicial power — that is, real judicial power, and not just the imagined kind that we’ve grown accustomed to accepting in a legalistic society.
It comes courtesy — though we’re told it’s an apocryphal quotation — of Andrew Jackson, our 7th president.
Jackson was informed of the Supreme Court’s decision in an 1832 case, Worcester v. Georgia, which involved a complicated set of circumstances by which a missionary to the Cherokee Nation was imprisoned for violating a state law that he claimed was non-binding on sovereign Indian territory.

During the Biden-Harris administration, Americans were gaslit and lied to by the White House on a regular basis, including and especially by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Perhaps the most noteworthy and recent examples came at the end of the administration, when Hurricane Helene ravaged states like North Carolina and Florida. There were concerns about the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the lack of a proper response, especially when funds had gone to services for illegal immigrants. While Jean-Pierre insisted that was not true, such a lie on her part is once more resurfacing.

How many more knife attacks can France take?
Well, as noted in the very first sentence of the article, there are currently 120 "knife attacks" every day in France. A generation ago it would have been inconceivable that the French would accept with a collective Gallic shrug 850 "knife attacks" per week.
Yet they do. So would they be able to "take" a thousand per week? Check back with me later this year. Fifteen hundred? Two thousand? That's the way to bet.

On Monday, Schumer shared a link calling on "whistleblowers" to report violations, arguing they "are a vital part of Congressional oversight to hold the administration accountable." The categories whistleblowers can report include "retaliation," "wasteful spending," "fraud," "criminal activity," and "other."
"Today, I’m calling on our brave public servants," the Senate Minority Leader wrote as he shared the tipline form on X.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, visiting an American military base in Germany, decided to emphasize the kind of fitness demanded by the military under President Donald Trump by working out with the elite Special Forces Group of the Green Berets. Hegseth, 44, is in Germany as part of his trip to Europe, which also includes stops in Belgium and Poland to discuss military operations with America’s military leaders abroad. In Germany, Hegseth had plans to visit U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) headquarters, also meeting with U.S. service members stationed there to “reaffirm the administration’s commitment to their mission and readiness,” the U.S. Embassy in Poland reported,

I wrote here about the absurd order issued by a Democratic Party judge that purports to bar the Secretary of the Treasury, along with many others, from accessing the Treasury Department’s data. The judge who issued that ex parte order–that means he issued it without even waiting to hear from the government–was Paul Engelmayer. Engelmayer sits in the Southern District of New York, a venue that has no apparent connection to the Treasury Department’s operations.
The Trump administration has now moved urgently to correct Engelmayer’s error. The linked document is a Memorandum in support of a Motion to Dissolve, Clarify or Modify Engelmayer’s improvidently granted temporary restraining order.

Here in the year of our Lord 2025, it is virtually impossible to be too absurd when mocking the American Left. Yes, it has been that way for a while, but it really went off the deep end when the lefties had to pretend that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had brains. That kind of forced delusion will break anybody.
This is particularly rough on me. Ever since I first stepped on a stage to tell a joke almost 43 years ago, absurdism has been the favored weapon in my comedic arsenal with which to lampoon anyone or anything. For most of my career it wasn't difficult for me

We shouldn’t be shocked that Democrats plotted to declare war on Donald Trump. They were going to use their elected lawmakers, the media, the intelligence community, and the army of unhinged government workers to lead a prolonged campaign of sabotage to hamstring the Trump administration. They were trying to use the same playbook, which was regrettably impactful with the endless leaks and the Russian collusion hoax. The US Agency for International Development (USAID) reportedly provided “full funding” for al Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki to attend college in Colorado, unearthed documents apparently show.
Al-Awlaki was an American-born jihadist who was killed in a drone strike in Yemen in 2011, during the Obama administration.
He was a central figure of al Qaeda, including having direct contact with Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan before he opened fire at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009, killing 13 people, US officials reported at the time.
Amid the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) investigations of federal government agencies in search of overspending, corruption and fraud, political eyes have been locked on USAID funding.

Victor Davis Hanson, the conservative scholar and historian, has put together a lesson for Democrats and members of the media who are outraged and confused about what Elon Musk is doing with DOGE and how it fits into our current politics and government.
Of course, if Democrats or members of the media actually listen to what Hanson has to say, they might be angry to find out that the precedent for all of this has been set multiple times over the years, but particularly by their old pal Joe Biden.
As usual, Hanson is eloquent in his delivery.

Yesterday, federal judge Paul Engelmayer, a Democrat, issued a temporary restraining order barring the Trump administration from getting access to its own Treasury Department’s documents. The injunction applies to all political appointees, which includes the Secretary of the Treasury. It was issued ex parte, which means the government was not even heard in opposition.
Judge-shopping is pretty much universal in politically-charged cases. We can expect much more of this: Democrats will bring lawsuits in front of friendly judges, seeking to enjoin various actions by the nascent Trump administration. In most cases, those orders (like the one just issued by Engelmayer) will be reversed on appeal, but that is acceptable

Of all the things I loathe about the Democrat party, its celebration of victimhood takes the cake. As is true of all political parties infected with virulent Marxism, it does not seek to help those truly in need. It does the opposite. It seeks out people who might never have seen themselves as victims and convinces them otherwise. It is a party whose growth in membership is directly proportional to Democrats’ capacity to convert Americans into victims.
Once a person understands Democrats’ pathological need to harvest new victims, it becomes obvious that they are not in the business of solving problems.

The Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas and other Palestinians on October 7, 2023 could have been released a long time ago had the Biden administration exerted pressure on Qatar to use its good relations with the Islamist group to force it to do so.
All Qatar had to do was to summon the Hamas leaders in Doha and give them an ultimatum to release all the hostages immediately or face deportation from the Gulf state. It is hard to see how the Hamas leaders would have been able to say no to their major political and financial patrons and backers.... The Qataris were never under the slightest pressure.

I'd bet you could guess the identity of the liberal analyst within three guesses, even before I mention the name. Why? Because at the moment, the number of liberal commentators with any sense of the moment at all can be counted on one hand, with a finger or two left over.
These days, the best of the potential guesses would be Bill Maher, James Carville, and Ruy Teixeira, all of whom tried to warn Democrats to get out of the Academia faculty lounge for the past several months. This time it's Teixeira, writing at the always-interesting Free Press, warning his allies that they are marching themselves off a political cliff
