The Spectator, whose headlines are lazy and terrible and an embarrassment to a once great publication, had a particularly bad example the other day: How many more knife attacks can France take? Well, as noted in the very first sentence of the article, there are currently 120 "knife attacks" every day in France. A generation ago it would have been inconceivable that the French would accept with a collective Gallic shrug 850 "knife attacks" per week. Yet they do. So would they be able to "take" a thousand per week? Check back with me later this year. Fifteen hundred? Two thousand? That's the way to bet.

Comments:

We hear of shootings everywhere but stabbings - 850 "knife attacks" per week, not so much. That would be intolerant.

ISLAMIC knife attacks. They left out the key word almost as if it was on purpose. If people will put up with 100 they will accept 850.

It's almost as if some country doesn't think that France deserves to exist as a nation. It'd be bad enough if that were Germany, or Habsburg Spain...or even Turkey. But it seems to be France. Cheer up mess amis! You'll have the satisfaction of knowing you were the nicest bunch of losers in modern Europe.

I visited France twice in 1989. On the first visit, I managed to avoid Paris on my inbound flight. On the second, I landed in Paris (Orly) and had to transfer to a domestic flight. The entire international terminal was bustling with Algerians, many of whom I later discovered had arrived "sans Passport" but were allowed into France anyway. How this was happening was a mystery to the French people I interacted with at the time. France was sowing the seeds of its Islamification long before it became fashionable throughout western countries. This is what happens to western countries when the populace defers to "its betters" in government policy-making... particularly in immigration policy.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) canceled more than $180 million in contracts over 48 hours, including a nearly $170,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit. "In the past 48 hours, HHS canceled 62 contract [sic] worth $182 million," The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced in a Friday social media post. "These contracts were entirely for administrative expenses – none touched any healthcare programs. This included terminating a $168,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci exhibit at the NIH Museum." The news comes as DOGE, led by billionaire Elon Musk, has

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who should probably ask for a refund from Boston University for leading her astray on an education, slammed Elon Musk as "one of the most unintelligent billionaires" she has ever met. AOC's comments were part of a 90-minute-long conversation with fans on Instagram. What really launched New York's most prominent socialist into a flurry of dizzying projection are Musk's ongoing efforts to clean up an out-of-control bureaucracy through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team. "This dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met, or seen, or witnessed," she whinnied.

Two employees of the authority that manages Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport were arrested over their alleged involvement in leaking surveillance footage of last week’s deadly midair aircraft collision to CNN. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) staffers are accused of making an unauthorized copy of records and are facing charges of computer trespass, the agency said Monday. The legal trouble is tied to the chilling video obtained by CNN last week that offered a horrifying new vantage point in the crash over the Potomac River, ABC News reported. The Wednesday night collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet killed all 67 people on both aircraft.

Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. has made a bold move, dismissing about 30 federal prosecutors involved in the Capitol riot cases. This decision, announced on Friday, signals a significant housecleaning of the top prosecutor's office in Washington, D.C., as Martin gears up to purge partisans who weaponized the Justice Department against Joe Biden’s political enemies, including Trump, pro-life activists, and others. But he’s also taken another bold step, effectively launching an investigation into Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer over comments he made back in March 2020 during a #MyRightMyDecision rally outside the Supreme Court. During the rally, Schumer blatantly threatened Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justices

The Democratic National Committee is getting ready to hold elections on Saturday, and a laundry list of opportunists are lining up to snag roles. One of those is David Hogg, who is running for vice chair. Ken Martin, who currently runs the Minnesota DFL, and Ben Wikler, who is chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, are the frontrunners to take the top spot of chairman. So how are things going over at the DNC? Did they learn any lessons from their embarrassing defeats in 2024? Of course, they didn't. Instead, they are doubling down on all the intersectional, woke insanity

The Federal Aviation Administration was hit with a class action lawsuit last year alleging it had denied 1,000 would-be air traffic controllers jobs because of diversity hiring targets — as it was revealed staffing levels were “not normal” at the time of this week’s deadly midair collision. Complaints about the FAA’s hiring policies resurfaced after the American Airlines passenger plane and a Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, killing 67 people in the country’s deadliest aviation disaster in almost a quarter century. Details of the litigation reemerged, too, as Andrew Brigida — the lead plaintiff in the suit — suggested the federal aviation agency’s obsession with diversity hiring
