NEW YORK — The White House blocked an Associated Press reporter from an event in the Oval Office on Tuesday after demanding the news agency alter its style on the Gulf of Mexico, which President Donald Trump has ordered renamed the Gulf of America.
The reporter, whom the AP would not identify, tried to enter the White House event as usual Tuesday afternoon and was turned away. Later, a second AP reporter was barred from a late-evening event in the White House Diplomatic Room.
The highly unusual ban, which Trump administration officials had threatened earlier Tuesday unless the AP changed the style on the Gulf, could have constitutional free-speech implications.

The Democrats' attacks on President Donald Trump and Elon Musk over the work of DOGE have been desperate and ridiculous.
They pushed this "Musk is unelected" thing, ignoring that DOGE is part of the Executive Office of the President, so yes, he's not just randomly looking through the finances. Plus, virtually everyone operating in the government, including the bureaucrats the Democrats don't want us to review, are "unelected." What's happening here is, maybe for the first time ever, you have people who care looking line by line through expenditures, who believe that there shouldn't be an unelected bureaucracy and that the American people should be listened to.

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” U.S. Hostage Envoy Adam Boehler stated that there will be another detained American coming home on Wednesday, but wouldn’t elaborate on who it was or which country they were being released from.
Boehler said, [relevant remarks begin around 6:00] “I just want to note, this is a unique circumstance that Secretary Rubio is saying. This is a unilateral move. It follows unilateral moves by Venezuela, other countries. We have another American coming in tomorrow. And so, this is — the president has made this a top priority. And he’s got the A team on it. He’s got Steve Witkoff on it.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R–Fla.), the head of a new congressional task force aimed at exposing “federal secrets,” said Tuesday that she believes “two shooters” were involved in the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy.
The task force — which will also probe pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s client list — intends to build on the Trump administration’s efforts to declassify records related to the assassinations of JFK, former New York Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., and will start with a “thorough investigation” of JFK’s November 1963 shooting death in Dallas, Texas.

President Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk at an Oval Office event. You know this was going to cause a meltdown. The event was marked by the president directing government agencies to cooperate with the Department of Government Efficiency, helmed by Elon Musk at the president's direction. It was quite an event, and Musk seemed ready to spar with the media, which attacked him as an Americanized Rasputin figure. The Telsa founder was short and sweet regarding questions about a shadow presidency, adding that the people voted for this; they want DOGE to audit the gravy train built by the political class and dismantle it.

Pennsylvania teacher Marc Fogel called President Trump “a hero” Tuesday in his first remarks since the commander in chief’s administration secured his release from a Russian prison.
“I want you to know that I am not a hero in this at all. And President Trump is a hero,” Fogel said after meeting Trump at the White House.
(Photo) “These men that came from the diplomatic service are heroes,” Fogel continued. “The senators and representatives that passed legislation in my honor to get me home are the heroes.” “I am in awe of what they all did.” Trump, 78, greeted Fogel outside the White House on a snowy night in Washington

Paul Martin, the inspector general at the USAID was fired on Tuesday just one day after his office released a report blasting the Trump Administration for working to gut the agency, according to CNN.

The Department of Education (DOE) slashed 29 diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training grants totaling $101 million as part of the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) mission to eliminate wasteful spending within the federal government.
DOGE, which is led by Elon Musk, announced the DOE’s elimination of the DEI training grants along with the termination of nearly $1 billion in contracts. One of the 29 DEI training grants sought to “help students understand/interrogate the complex histories involved in oppression, and help students recognize areas of privilege and power on an individual and collective basis,” according to DOGE. Three weeks into President Donald Trump’s second term and the Democrat Party is rudderless.
They lack compelling, charismatic leadership. They are rapidly losing ground in the culture war that they dominated for so long. They don’t have any favorable issues or narratives that are breaking out into the broader cultural consciousness. Their tried-and-true tactic of public shaming and cancelation couldn’t even keep the young DOGE employee known as “Big Balls” out of a job. However, there is one element of the activist left that still poses a significant threat to the Donald Trump and his agenda, and that is lawfare.

President Trump has made a bold move by firing the head of the Office of Government Ethics, a decision that many conservatives view as a necessary corrective against an entrenched liberal bias in Washington.
David Huitema, who was appointed by Joe Biden in December 2024 for a five-year term and confirmed by the Senate, had been in office for just over two months before his removal.
Trump’s decision to remove him as director was announced in a brief statement on the OGE website, noting that the office had been informed of his dismissal.
“OGE has been notified that the President is removing David Huitema as the Director of OGE.

WASHINGTON — President Trump is set to sign an order Tuesday instructing the Department of Government Efficiency to potentially toss entire federal agencies — and hire only one federal worker to replace every four who leave.
DOGE will ask agency heads to coordinate with the team being lead by Elon Musk and “shrink the size of the federal workforce and limit hiring to essential positions,” according to a fact sheet on the executive order obtained by The Post. (Photos) Entire agencies and part of agencies may be eliminated because their functions aren’t required by law, says the readout, first obtained by Semafor.
