Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson argued during a Friday podcast that Democratic Texas Rep. Al Green announcing he will bring articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump is emblematic of the Democratic Party’s failure to course-correct after the 2024 election. Trump made significant gains with both Hispanic and black men during the November election. Hanson, on “The Victor Davis Hanson Show,” pointed to Green’s impeachment effort as part of a larger pattern of Democrats being out of touch with their constituents, particularly men.

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at safeguarding the Second Amendment rights of American citizens. The order, titled Protecting Second Amendment Rights, directs the Attorney General to review and address potential infringements on the right to keep and bear arms that may have occurred during the Biden administration. In the order, President Trump emphasized the foundational importance of the Second Amendment, calling it “an indispensable safeguard of security and liberty.” He stated that the right to bear arms is essential for protecting families, preserving freedoms, and maintaining all other rights enshrined in the Constitution.

WASHINGTON — President Trump announced Friday that he will soon sign an executive order ending the Biden administration’s initiative to ban plastic straws across the federal government.
“I will be signing an Executive Order next week ending the ridiculous Biden push for Paper Straws, which don’t work,” the president, 78, wrote on Truth Social.
“BACK TO PLASTIC!” (Photo) Trump appeared to be referring to former President Joe Biden’s July 2024 promise to “phase out” single-use plastics — including straws, cutlery and cups — in federal departments.

Tax season is coming up. My wife does our taxes, which through the close to 30 years I've been self-employed, has always been a complicated process. She is quite good at making sure we pay every penny we're required by law to pay - and not one penny more. That is, of course, what all good Americans should do; rendering unto Caesar has its limits.Every American taxpayer these days, though, has a few more reasons to smile - and on Friday, they gained 182 million more reasons, as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has canceled another 62 contracts, saving all of us

In a tit-for-tat move, President Donald Trump revoked former President Joe Biden's security clearance. Trump announced his plans to do so on Truth Social, saying "we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings."
In 2021, shortly after taking office, Biden had revoked Trump's security clearance. Former presidents typically retain their security clearance as those in the very small club of past presidents have a unique perspective on domestic and global matters as well as on the rarified position that they each have held. President Donald Trump on Feb. 7 announced that he was revoking former President Joe Biden’s security clearance and stopping his access to daily intelligence briefings, an entitlement of most former presidents.
Biden, when he took office in 2021, revoked Trump’s access to classified information and daily intelligence briefings, citing the events of Jan. 6, 2021 (snip)—as his reason.
Trump announced his decision in a social media post on Truth Social, citing Biden’s previous action as well as the report by Special Counsel Robert Hur, who investigated the alleged mishandling of classified information by Biden and issued a report in 2024.

The Biden administration awarded Canadian electric bus company Lion Electric nearly $160 million to manufacture hundreds of battery-powered buses for school districts nationwide as part of its sweeping climate agenda. In recent weeks, Lion has initiated bankruptcy proceedings, laid off all employees tasked with building its buses, and paused manufacturing operations.
Lion's financial demise leaves dozens of school districts—including those in California, Montana, North Dakota, Iowa, Alabama, and Maryland—questioning whether they will receive the buses the Biden administration promised them. Lion has yet to deliver $95 million worth of electric buses to 55 districts across the country, according to federal data reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

While progressive voters, Kamala Harris’s campaign team, and the Pod Save America guys wax poetic and point fingers about November’s election results, President Trump is delivering on his campaign promises to parents—firehose style. My sense is that most in the pundit class still don’t grasp how much parents with school-aged children influenced the election–shifting 7 points to the right between 2020 and 2024. Based on the first few weeks of President Trump’s second term, he did not take those votes for granted. His actions have shown parents across the political spectrum that he is delivering on promises made.

This article is intended as a response to the recent article by Dan Hoffman in the Washington Times entitled “Some Leadership Lessons for New CIA Chief Ratcliffe to Ponder”.
The premise of that article appears to be that a change of leadership at the top of CIA will be sufficient to put it on the right track. With all due respect for Mr. Hoffman, who I know personally, he is wrong. CIA needs major reform from top to bottom. The twin cancers of politicization and bureaucratization have rendered it effectively incapable of doing its job.

The California FAIR Plan was organized by the state in 1968 as the insurer of last resort for fire insurance when a relatively small number of high-risk homeowners were unable to obtain policies from commercial insurance companies following a series of wildfires. Since 2018, under Governor Gavin Newsom, FAIR plan policyholders have grown from 150,000 to more than 450,000 as commercial insurers have left California due to premium adequacy issues.
While organized by the state, the FAIR Plan has no explicit financial support or guaranty from it. The plan’s financial resources, even before recent events, were measured in hundreds of millions of dollars compared with hundreds of billions in exposures.

The insult was a poke in Pete’s eye for his career at Fox News. Now in the third week of the second Trump administration, the country is learning that USAID apparently has been running a racket that has propped up the Democratic political machine, which includes the usual big-media players, with tens of millions of taxpayers’ dollars.
As political scandals go, this one could be the grubbiest of all.

For years, the liberal media has been a dominant force in shaping public opinion; whether parroting the Democratic Party's talking points, attacking conservative figures, or downplaying major scandals that could harm their favored candidates, they had a virtual monopoly in the field of journalism. Things have changed. From the rise of conservative networks and independent journalists, people have more choices now, and it could spell the end of the liberal media. It’s not just me saying it. Jim VandeHei, the co-founder of the USAID-funded Politico, also believes the heyday of left-wing media might finally be over.
And not just because they’re losing the slush fund money.

Hysteria has erupted here and abroad over President Donald Trump's threats to level trade tariffs against particular countries.
Both American and foreign critics blasted them variously as either counterproductive and suicidal or unfair, imperialistic, and xenophobic. Certainly, tariffs are widely hated by doctrinaire economists. They complain that tariffs burden consumers with higher prices to protect weak domestic industries that, shielded from competition, will have no incentive to improve efficiency.
Their ideal is "free" trade. Supposedly a free global market alone should adjudicate which particular industry in any country can produce the greatest good for the world's consumers, whether defined by lower prices or better quality, or both.

Authorities are frantically searching for an airplane carrying 10 people that went missing on its way to Nome, Alaska, according to officials.
A Bering Air flight from Unalakleet to Nome failed to land as scheduled at 4 p.m. on Thursday, sending local and federal officials into a mad dash to locate the missing aircraft, the Alaska Department of Public Safety said.
Search and rescue crews from Alaska State Troopers and the National Transportation Safety Board are working to identify the plane’s last known coordinates, according to the statement.

President Trump fired Federal Election Commission Chairwoman Ellen Weintraub on Thursday in a move the Democratic official claims is illegal.
Weintraub, who has served as an FEC commissioner since 2002, shared the termination letter she received from the president on X and signaled that she won’t be leaving her post quietly.
“Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner & Chair of [FEC],” Weintraub wrote on the social media platform. “There’s a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn’t it.”

East Hampton government officials are trying to quell wealthy residents’ fears that local police could deport illegal migrants from the tony town — many of whom work as maids, landscapers, and nannies to support the luxurious lifestyles of the well-off locals.
Village and town leaders held a special community meeting on Tuesday to assure citizens of Long Island’s exclusive nabe — where the median property value is $2 million — that their hired help are not on their radar when it comes to deportation.
East Hampton Village Police Chief Jeffrey Erickson stressed that local law enforcement do not have authority to enforce federal law —

It seems that failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is a glutton for punishment. Clinton on Thursday slammed Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy for enlisting the aid of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to help fix America’s aviation problems.[Snip]This time, Duffy removed the gloves.“I know you’re lashing out because DOGE is uncovering your family’s obscene grifting via USAID, but I won’t let you lie and distort facts,” the Transportation Secretary wrote. “The FAA administrator announced he resigned over a month before Trump took office, and the air traffic controllers were always exempt from Trump’s civil service buyouts.”

On Thursday’s “Alex Marlow Show,” host and Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow talked about President Trump’s speech at the Prayer Breakfast.
Marlow said, “[A]ll the good that’s happening in this country right now, of all these positive things that are happening, the cracking down on the illegal immigration, the restoring integrity to women’s sports, the prospect of getting the Panama Canal back, the prospect of eliminating some of this fentanyl that’s flowing into our country, all of these things…that DOGE is doing…none of this would have happened if that bullet had just been a fraction of an inch closer to the fat part of Trump’s skull…if that doesn’t bring you to religion,

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) reintroduced a bill on Thursday that would permanently eliminate top diversity positions at the Department of Defense, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.
The Restoring Military Focus Act would permanently eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisers for Diversity and Inclusion positions, which were established by the fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act in the wake of the George Floyd protests. While President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have ordered that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) be banned from the military, Roy’s bill would codify it into law so it could not be reversed in the future under a new administration.

The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) says that transgender student-athletes' eligibility to participate in sports is determined by state law, not President Donald Trump's recent Executive Order banning transgender athletes from women's or girl's sports. What they're saying:
MSHSL says that the eligibility of transgender student-athletes is "determined by state law, through the Minnesota Human Rights Act and the Minnesota Constitution."
The organization will continue to abide by the anti-discrimination laws in the state (snip)
Because of these state laws, students in Minnesota can participate in sports consistent with their gender identity, despite Trump's new Executive Order.

Democratic strategist James Carville condemned his party on Thursday for pursuing agendas that he argued are disconnected from the concerns of everyday Americans. During the “outrage of the week” segment on his “Politics War Room” podcast, Carville expressed frustration with New York Democrats pushing for pet bereavement leave and with the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) gender rules discussed at its Saturday Winter Meeting.

Last week, as we covered at the time, an excerpt for a new book was released detailing claims about former Vice President Kamala Harris and an interview with Joe Rogan that never came to be. The details from frustrated and entitled aides with the Democratic nominee's failed presidential campaign put the blame on Rogan as to why Harris never made it onto "The Joe Rogan Experience," while now President Donald Trump did. Rogan is now speaking out against such claims made in the book.
