THE BRONX - Residents in the Bronx voiced their concerns and frustration about a 2,200-bed migrant shelter being proposed without community input.With no vote or opinions from residents, the mayor's Office of Asylum seekers Operations plans to open the shelter as soon as late February. According to officials, the seven-floor facility will have 24/7 on-site security, as well as an 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew. What they're saying: At the heated community board meeting, concerns were raised about prioritizing single men over women and families, potential safety issues and a lack of communication from city officials.

The shelter will be for men only (!) Curfew from 11PM to 6M. Good luck witfh that. (Laken Riley was murdered in the morning.) Just saw clip from meeting. A very diverse neighborhood is expressing its fury. Good. This potentially dangerous setup will also be supported with taxpayer funds.

Those who read the article will find that the building already exists and is being repurposed as a shelter, expected to be in use by the end of February. Thirteen emeergency shelters being closed; 2200 men expected to be transferre4 to this faccility. A potential powder keg.

A barracks for 0bama's 'Civilian Security Force' as well funded and as well armed as the U.S. military??? Besides the free lodging and free food, they must be paying these people pretty well to get them willing to live like this.. Imagine leaving your homeland, walking thousands of miles , often paying 'coyotes' thousands of dollars to sneak you across the border (unless these are the ones Biden flew in directly from their homelands on government aircraft) to live in such conditions. I'd rather live in my own little shack in poverty in my own country than live crammed into a barracks like this.

Attorneys for a man charged with murder in connection with the killings of four University of Idaho students are asking a judge to throw out most of the evidence in the case because they say it all hinges on an unconstitutional genetic investigation process. Bryan Kohberger's defense team also contends that the search warrants in the case were tainted by police misconduct. They will make their arguments during a two-day hearing starting Thursday morning, part of which will be closed to the public. If they are successful, it could throw a major wrench in the prosecution's case before the trial starts in August.

I get that Pete Buttigieg had to respond: He’s a Democrat who got called out by President Donald Trump in a press conference. The president addressed the media after the tragic air disaster at Reagan National Airport on January 29, which led to the deaths of 67 people. It’s the worst aviation incident in years. Trump called out the former transportation secretary and then went on a prolonged critique of DEI initiatives under Biden, which included hiring brain-damaged people and those with mental and intellectual disabilities. The latter part is what triggered the Left, and Mayor Pete is very left-wing:
