Many have written about the liberal bias of PBS and NPR over the years, particularly when it relates to the news and news talk shows. Almost all media bias charts put both NPR and PBS on the left. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) receives a yearly congressional appropriation of about $575 Million. Funding for public television comes from the government (at all levels) and the private sector in roughly equal amounts. Approximately 75% of the CPB’s funding goes to public television, while 25% goes to public radio. About 70% of funding for local NPR stations comes from government sources.

PBS and NPR are government supported wings of the Democrat party. Our taxes should not be used to pay for their Leftist propaganda.

Sometimes something good on. Have at least 5 PBS stations on. Reduce two won't be missed much. Only public service show that was good removed by them. Signing time.

Go for it. When PBS first started, it was commercial free. Now, they run commercials. Cut the funding and they either sink or swim.

When the CPB and the PBS were initiated, we only had 5 or 6 TV stations. Now we have so many I can't get to the end of them, but still not much to watch.

I used to like listening to NPR on the weekends, when AM talk radio becomes divorce and retirement shows. But it has become awful to listen to since Trump. I'd like to have 1990s NPR back. But since we can't, then cut the funding. It is programming for elitist, educated white people and shouldn't be subsidized.

Old computer and/or search engine prevents access to this website so unable to read the article; however, simply based on the fact that government funding is involved, that means taxpayer money is involved--a mix of Democrat, Independent and Republican taxpayer monies. PBS and NPR are not fair-and-balanced to the point of seemingly being totally Democrat/Leftist/Liberal ad nauseam. The few PBS exceptions are cooking/crafts, nature, and some PBS Masterpiece Theater productions of classics or mystery programs. Locally, programming consists of repeat after repeat after repeat throughout the year; very few “new” programs are available in a new season. With government funding, private sector, and twice-a-year local fund-raising programs, an audit of PBS monies might prove interesting.
