The clash couldn’t have been scripted any better. The occasion was Vice President J.D. Vance’s first interview since taking office, a sit-down with Margaret Brennan of CBS News. The anchor pressed him on the White House pause of refugee resettlement operations, reminding Vance of his past support for admitting into the country those who were “properly vetted.” The vice president replied that the efficacy of the entire screening process was in doubt, pointing to an Afghan national recently arrested for plotting a terror attack in Oklahoma as an example. The subsequent crescendo launched a thousand memes and highlight reels

The Republican party FINALLY has leaders not trying to find favor with the media. Trump, Vance, DeSantis are examples of leaders who will call BS to their questions and restate them demonstrating the bias in them for all to see.

Vance is whip-smart and lightning fast on his feet. (Pence, to me, often came across as an automaton.) He seems PDJT’s diesel locomotive to Xiden’s pedal car, Cackles.

Leftist have this bizarre denial going where they imagine that a Muslim has to be "radicalized" some magical way before he becomes a threat. No, they are ALL, and always threats. Their religious books and religious leaders tell them ALL that they have a religious duty to enslave or kill all 'unbelievers'. Some are just lazy or waiting for a better opportunity. ALL are dangerous and are 7th century, violent barbarians. This fixation on them being "radicalized" is like trying to figure exactly when a rabid dog decided to bit you. It makes no difference, he's a rabid dog and there is only one solution.

It makes me so happy to finally see some Republicans go on these shows to fight back and not allow themselves to be cowed by elitist "journalists".

Yes, #5. As I have posted many times - a “radical” Muslim will chop your head off. A “moderate” Muslim will hold you down while he does it.

Internet pioneer Marc Andreessen said it best: “Last week has totally reset my conception of what’s possible, in two wholly different dimensions.” As Andreessen often is, he’s right. Soon after November’s election, I suggested that if Donald Trump were smart, he’d come in like a wrecking ball: Move fast, break things and precipitate change across many fronts all at once, subjecting the Democrats, the media and the left (but I repeat myself) to shock and awe.Boy, has he ever done that, unleashing unprecedented change in just his first 100 hours.

Denmark this week announced a $2 billion security package for Greenland, making another large commitment to the defense of the Arctic nation as President Trump repeatedly calls to acquire the island. The Ministry of Defense said in a Monday release that three new Arctic ships and more long-range drones are included in the first part of an agreement it has with the territories of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, both of which Denmark is responsible for on security matters.

The daughter of Colombia’s president has waded into the short-lived standoff between her father and President Trump over deportations — suggesting the Latin American nation should send back an American sex tourist for every Colombian deported from the US. “For every Colombian deported we will return a gringo from the Poblado,” wrote Andrea Petro, the daughter of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, in a post on X Monday. She accompanied the cheeky message with a meme of dolphins jumping from the sea under a rainbow-crested sky.

Ignorance isn’t bliss. The Democratic Party could have used the results of a new poll out last week when they chose the Harris-Walz campaign theme, as an in-depth look at younger registered voters – millennials & Gen Z – restates the obvious: They didn’t want all the abortion the ticket was selling. A fact that I wonder if Kamala was thinking about last week at the Capitol. When it comes to younger voters, common ground on abortion can be found on a number of issues, with a generation that support limits on abortion by almost seven in 10, more even than last year.

Ahead of Thursday’s Senate Judiciary confirmation hearing for President Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, Kash Patel, The New York Times dropped a hit job accusing Patel of lying about the bureau’s 2016 investigation into then-candidate Trump. In their lede, Charlie Savage, Adam Goldman, and Alan Feuer accuse Patel of having “repeatedly undercut the work of the very agency he is set to lead by making false statements” about the FBI’s sham investigation into Trump for supposed collusion with Russia. Lost on them is the reality that Patel’s understanding of the FBI’s corruption and willingness to “undercut” their partisan witch hunts make him the perfect

A Tale of Two Inaugurations 4 replies

Eight years ago, I was perhaps overly optimistic when I wrote in an editorial for my old newspaper, the Daily Inter Lake, that Donald Trump’s first inaugural address was a promise that “politics as usual would come to a grinding halt in Washington, D.C.” Overly optimistic? Heck, I was dead wrong. Instead we got more than two years of the worst kind of politics – the politics of personal destruction – as Hillary Clinton and her Democratic allies planted the seeds of the Russia collusion hoax, leading to the failed Mueller probe, then another two years marked by a pair of partisan impeachments and divided government.

President Donald Trump has been emphatic about his desire to acquire Greenland — the latest development in an eventful saga going back over 150 years. The world’s largest island has long presented an attractive prospect for American power projection. Located on the United States’s northeastern flank, developments in technology and the changing need for resources have only made the target more tempting. Before Trump’s efforts in 2019 and 2024-25, the U.S. undertook at least three major attempts to acquire Greenland throughout its history. Here’s what happened the last three times the U.S. tried to acquire Greenland.

When President Gustavo Petro took office in 2022, he aimed to bring about comprehensive peace in Colombia. But this now seems a remote dream amid the latest violence. DW presents questions and answers on the situation. Since January 16, the guerilla group ELN and offshoots of the former militant organization FARC have been fighting each other in the Catatumbo region in the northeast of Columbia near the border to Venezuela. At least 80 people have died so far in the violence. At least 20 more people have been killed in clashes in the Amazonas region in the south of the country between rival splinter groups of FARC.

On January 21st, 2025, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance attended the Service of Prayer for the Nation at the National Cathedral. As a believer, I attended the service for the purpose of praying for our nation, President Trump, the president’s family, and the success of his administration. I purposely left the prayer service early after realizing how the pulpit was being used for left-wing activism and not for true worship unto God, to seek His will and wisdom. Mr. President, what accosted you at the prayer service was political–not biblical.

Donald Trump won the 2024 election in part because the Left's hysterical style of attacking Trump no longer worked. After a decade of this unhinged furor, it proved worthless in winning public support -- and for two simple reasons. One, after years of Russian collusion hoaxes, the laptop disinformation farce, and the warped lies about the "suckers" and "fine people on both sides" -- the shrill Left became predictable. So, the bored public began tuning them out, switching channels, hitting the mute button, and pulling the plug.

But she unloaded on her famous relative in her statement on the eve of his Senate confirmation hearing, as he faces an uncertain future in the Senate as Donald Trump's pick to lead the Health and Human Services Department.
